  • Maidened my XFly B-1 on Saturday June 24th at the beautiful Red Apple Flyers field in Wenatchee, WA. I have some bugs to work out (the wings had a dihedral in flight they aren't supposed to even though it likely made the jet more stable in slower speeds, lol) and I forgot to retract the takeoff flaps. Whoops! She's a bit wonky with the wings swept so I didn't keep them swept for more than 10 seconds or so. Lands like a dream. Gorgeous bird!

Yep! I am going to be investigating today...I think perhaps the screws to the wing mech are not 100% tight...

I agree with JohnVHRC Holy moly . The fact you flew it and landed it with out planting it like a +$700 lawn dart says alot about your skills as a pilot. Kudos for that.👍

Improper installation of the wing bolts. 100% assembled incorrectly

I'm opening her up today and going through each wing bolt tooth and nail.

@@ToddBreda with how the airplane was continued to be flown im sure your going to find all kinds if things messed up. Literally missing the main screw that holds the top and bottom of the wing root together is the only way this would happen.

@@soltproductions I just watched your installation video and I did everything exactly as you did. Placed the pin securely in the wing swing mech, screwed down the 6mm's and the 16mm. The only thing I can think of is perhaps I didn't torque them as securely as I should have? I'll find out later today and report back what I discovered.
