Test Run of my 1982 Pay N' Pak 1/8 Scale Electric Unlimited Hydroplane - Part 2 RAW FOOTAGE

- Raw, unedited footage from my maiden voyage. Unlike aircraft, I know very little about running hydros. One of my RunCams didn't record as the boat was taking on a ton of water. I believe it was too nose heavy. Still learning. Ended up having to drill two small holes on the bottom as a ton of water ended up trapped inside the structure. Part 2

Outstanding looking boat Todd! You did a fabulous job with the build. Once these hydros finally get on plane and break the surface tension of the water, they take off like a rocket! You'll get it, don't be nervous, turn it loose brother! 😂 👍 And stay outta the weeds-they're like redwood logs to this size of a boat. A one inch wave sent my hydro airborne. 😢
Thanks Hugh! Yeah with all the time and money investment, I was super nervous for anything to happen to my detriment. All that plodding around really waterlogged my boat! Luckily the electronics are all fine and she will live to see the water again soon!
@@ToddBreda They always look like they are about to sink when starting out, angle of the prop shaft making it worse at slow speed. I also wax the bottom trying to aid in break the water tension easier and as quick as possible and rise up on sponsons. Probably doesn't help but my pea brain believes it does and I'm sticking to my fantasy.
@@hughwiedman9711😂 well I think that “pea brain” of yours is on to something!
At 1:12 to 1:17 it's the only time I got it to resemble a hydroplane. LOL!
Hey Todd, cool looking boat, and got up and going for a bit! However, I'd say it's a pretty "limited" Hydroplane lol! Joking! Thumbs up! Glad you're posting and hopefully having fun again!
😂😂😂😂 well played good sir! Well played! Thanks for watching bro and hope you are doing great!
