One correction from the video. It said the throttle is located in the center so both pilots can use. Actually, B-1 is set up like a fighter. There is another set of throttles on the left of the pilot. So both pilot and co-pilot fly with the Right hand and control the throttle with their Left.

3:31 variable swept-wing changes the wing sweep angle, not the angle of attack.

Several decades ago, a friend of mine in the Air Force flew on a B1 bomber. He loved it! The Bone can fly supersonic right off the deck and strike anything, anywhere on the planet.

One correction from the video. It said the Lancer is a variable swept-wing bomber, which means it can change the angle of attack of its wings. Acutally, it should be the sweep angle of its wings correspondingly that are changed.

I love complex cockpits... it is for me like visually enjoying the naked body of Miss Universe...Wow... What a great delight, even more so for those who fly it... a hug for everyone, greetings from Colombia and... good winds...👍 👍 👍 ...

Awesome jet. People don't realize planes, especially effective, well maintained and reliable military aircraft don't age like cars do. There are actually many benefits to much of the mechanical instrumentation as it is a lot more resistant to electronic warfare or EMPs. Reliability is key. Relying purely on a few fancy LCD screens and losing all instrumentation because of an EMP or battery/electrical issues is a risk the USAF can't afford. This is a big reason why the military still uses B-52s and B-1s because they not only still get the job done but replacing them would take a very long time and would cost enormous sums of money. Not to mention the new designs will have numerous teething issues, sometimes as long as a decade from first flight (think F-22 and F-35) before being truly front line combat ready. Old is gold when it comes to strategic bombers in particular.
China and Russia's strategic bomber backbones are decades old as well. Just military reality that if something works, and works well, it's entirely counterproductive to replace it with an unknown quantity. Especially such an important part of the nuclear triad. Plus these jets are constantly upgraded "under the hood" and their functions are cutting edge and state of the art despite the presence of many mechanical instruments that people get stuck on looking at. Can't judge a book by its cover. It's the contents that matter. The fact that the B-52s will be flying until the 2040s-2050s is a testament to designers, engineers and airmen that keep them flying. These jets are more important than ever in a new era of so called "great power conflict". The pentagon's new favorite phrase. Long live the bone!

Why the headline regarding the B1B when the bulk of the video is about the B-52 and cargo planes and air refueling? There are thousands of videos on air refueling, planes taking off, landing and arming. 😅 Do we need more of the same? I guess it’s good for recruiting.

By the late 80’s the B-1b was already obsolete and considered mostly a one way trip against any near peer enemy. It’s only accomplishments are dropping a massive amount of weapons on terrorists who have little to no anti air, and some combat seen in the first Iraq war (after most of Sadam’s air defenses were defeated)

USA's old-style bombers, like B1's (+B52's), are primarily disliked by unarmed peaceful civilians being carpet-bombed indiscriminately by the USA overhead
but nowadays, such old-style bombing over people's heads are out of the question against those with formidable militaries able to defend themselves
forcing USA's bombers to use standoff weapons, such as subsonic cruise missiles launched from faraway from the targeted location instead, so, avoiding deep penetration of enemy territory, for fear of such bombers being shot down out of the skies

    • @internetcensure5849
