Great review!
Thanks Anton for this video. I needed this. Important to have proper technique but need a good teacher who can teach proper technique that works.
Pretty much sums up the video :D
Yea I also got Paul Gilbert Vernon Solos. Insane playing.
A great album for those who miss him shredding (relative to his new "bluesy" period), though in his concerts he does use, what he calls, his “crowd pleasers” from Racer X.
Dima Pavlenko yea I have bunch of open counseling tapes from GIT Paul’s playing was insane
How long u practiced for scarified 2008 video
Is it necessary to hold the pick little stronger? I hold the pick very softly and it doesn't move in whole dynamic range : ) fingers just stop the pick naturally, when my grip is harder, strings causes more resistance.
Yes, if you decide picking deeper. Overcoming that resistance is how we control the dynamics of picking. On the other hand, holding it stronger even for shallower picking will sound "stronger" than holding it loosely, so we can pick even shallower with even less resistance. Making it a habit allows being more consistent overall. Here ua-cam.com/video/YOHX2lfW-BI/v-deo.html at 6:11 Paul starts talking about dynamics, at 8:26 he explains how dynamics are achieved, "using more of the pick...lowering the pick into the string". Holding the pick loosely - it will get stuck or wiggle and won't sound consistent, unless you warm up for a few hours each time to "feel" the pick, how it behaves, and still won't enable you to achieve decent speed because most chances the picking path is not dead straight. If speed is not your goal - it doesn't matter how you pick. Doing it properly like Gilbert or Anton, is one hell of a journey.
How I learned to play like Paul Gilbert .
ну learned to play like Paul Gilbert слишком громко сказано, How I learned to sound like Paul Gilbert самое оно )))
В оригинале название более скромное :) - ua-cam.com/video/no3atDyRmLk/v-deo.html
