The small businesses in Mexico will be Yuuuuge! It’s a fast growing economy!
I totally agree! Viva México!
Great video as always 🎉🎉🎉
Muchas Gracias!
Great info. Thank you. 😊
Glad it was helpful!
Jose ….. thank you for the answer. You are most definitely legit!!
Glad it was helpful!
don't forget about the agreement Mexico has with the US that it wont double tax you if you work or have a business in Mexico. I'm not sure if you have to file to get that exemtion in Mexico or not, or how it works exactly, but it would be good to look into it other wise if you don't then you might end up paying an enormous amount of tax since both Mexico and the US could theoretically tax you at 30 to 40% each leaving you almost nothing.
Thank you for sharing!
the first $112,000. made in Mexico for a US citizen is not taxed in the US however over that amount ( this is the information from 2 years ago) would be taxed... The US is very greedy to somehow tax people living abroad... LOL Life is complicated... but look at the Presidents son, HUNTER BIDEN... he is in trouble with the IRS for making money in UKRAINE> LOL
I think there is a form specific for expats living in mexico to only be taxed from the US but don’t know what it’s called
thanks! that was fun! Im a German American lookin at dual citizenship
That's awesome! Glad the video was so helpful! Thanks for sharing!
Well Let’s Start a Business! 2024 in Mexico….
Step 0 - Listen to @JoseArteaga USA
Step 4 - Will Update soon thanks Man!
Jose good morning all the best for you and family
Good morning! Thanks! Same to you! Saludos!
If anyone is doubtful about what Jose mentions around Digital Nomads paying taxes on their income, I can tell you from personal experience back from 2020, after first moving here in 2018.
I started teaching online and then went to Immigration to get my Work Permit...only to find out that that type of WP does not exist.
And if you are conscientious about paying taxes, do not fret because as Jose mentions you are paying HIGH taxes on all your purchases every day. And btw, taxes start at 16% and go all the way up to 49%!! I know a Stainless Steel Exporter who pays 49% whenever he ships out products. So, Mexico is NOT hurting for cash.
All that said, here in Jalisco, and other areas, starting a business is even easier and less restrictive than what Jose mentions about Merida. I may start doing videos myself to give out info on my experiences in other parts of Mexico.... in case anyone's interested. Jose, I hope you don't mind me sharing that.
That is a great idea! We need the most information on all places around Mexico we can get! Thank you for confirming some of the things I said in the video and giving us all that useful info. Saludos!
@@JoseArteagaTravels Hey Jose, thank you very much for that vote of confidence!!!
Super dope
Hey Jose, I am moving there with my wife in 3 years, but starting to prepare now. She was born there and has dual citizenship. We are moving there to retire, and money is not an issue. However, I want to start a non-profit to help people in and around Mexico City. It will be giving thing away, teaching English for free, as well as other digital career or small business skills (Graphic Design, Video Editing, Website, digital, Ebay, etc.). What do you think about that, sir? How would that work? We are going to rent a nice house and she wants to build one to pass alone to her family there - generational wealth. We put 3 of his siblings through college from the US over the past 15 years.
That's a great idea that will go over very well and help out your local community! Many people already do all kinds of charity work out here already so you guys will fit right in! Good luck with everything!
Yes! A German bread company is opening soon, be on the look out for it and it will be hiring! Merida
Awesome! Thanks for sharing!
nice video, weill done
Muchas Gracias! Glad it was helpful!
I'm looking to set up shop on mexico but my type off business will need government permits
Good luck to you! Thanks for sharing!
Did you drive on a dirt track with your truck? That looked like fun! 🏎
No I was in a GoKart 😅🚙
Good afternoon Jose I see a lot construction work is going on the video how is the tren maya in yucatan ??
There is a huge boom in everything out here! The train is going great hope to take a ride on it soon!
Any more info on Xebra Brands activity down there? Will that take a few more months or years?
I have no idea
To some people this might be considered excessive or extreme until you really have any runnings with the US police. It has gotten worse since Covid. I didn’t realize how much calculations is being done just to go to the grocery store theses days. The thing is you don’t realize it until your friends comes to visit and ask you questions on why you do things in a certain way. That’s when it hits you you’re living in a big prison and don’t even realize it. Question like why do you always have to leave the house with your ID just to run to the store for example. It’s sad. But again it’s all for my safety 😊
Well said. Thanks for sharing!
Jose what up my man?
Hola! Saludos!
So my plan is to buy a vehicle to conduct business how do I go about that if I'm not a resident?
You need to wait until you are a resident to legally purchase a vehicle
I'd like to come out there n bring my motorhome n camp around for awhile.
That's awesome! Thanks for sharing!
How common is it to barter? Like if I have a wine making hobby can I barter or trade with someone? Is it a gray area as you are speaking of or is it clearly illegal because it is wine? In America you can make 100 gallons a year legally per person or 200 per home but you can't trade or sell it.
People Barter all the time in Mexico. Not sure what the laws on making homemade hooch are tho 😅 But I'm sure you'll be fine
3rd!!!😂
😎
Where is that race track?
Great question! Here it is maps.app.goo.gl/QzkSdKtzVEajsQyc9
Thanks! That’s very close to me. Who knew? 😆
Awesome! You should go and check them out!
"México is not as strict and as child and heartless..." actually, something you're not considering here is the difference between the Mexico and the USA is Mexico is a country filled with very strict laws that are seldomly enforced and the USA is a country of casual laws that are often enforced. What that means is, those that break the law can actually suffer very harsh penalties but those penalties are almost never levied even though they have the option to if they want. And that is where extortion comes in
oh ok! Thank you so much for explaining that! I guess that is why no one gets in trouble for petty crimes in Mexico just serious crimes and in the US you get in major trouble for minor offenses and none at all for Major crimes. Makes sense! Thank you so much for sharing with us! 😅
How match to star the llc in Mexico
There is no LLC equivalent in Mexico. You must start a corporation. To start a small business You just need to get a business License and depending on the type of business will determine what other kind of licensing you might need to acquire. I do not know what the current cost of any of these things are. You must do further research on your own.
@@JoseArteagaTravels thankyou for you Time , i love you content, i wish for you all the best
I’ve been a loafer in a bakery for 31 years. Will someone hire me?
Maybe, but it will be for Mexican wages so around 100 USD or less a week
@@JoseArteagaTravels If I make $100 a week can I spend it on one place?
Question I want to sell marijuana products in porta Vallarta … operate in the grey …. What are your thoughts?
You will probably get arrested or worse. I would not recommend you do anything illegal in a foreign country.
N🤪oooooooooooooooooo,back home🇭🇲🇭🇲🇭🇲
👾
@@JoseArteagaTravels 🤭🤭🤭 just joking, welcome to MEXICO. FROM CHICAGO.
Jose do you know the GDP per capita for Mexicans?
I have no idea
Google does
$11091 per capita gdp, $13089 average household income. 2022
No no I’m saying its legal in Mexico can I start a delivery service of marijuana in porta Vallarta … you know the whole legal not legal situation !! lol
It has only been decriminalized. It is still illegal to buy or sell. Also in order for you to Legally be in this industry you need to be a Mexican Citizen and apply for the appropriate permits and licenses in order to be considered to be allowed to participate. It is still very early on in the process and we might have to wait another year or more before they figure out how to go about this. So to answer your question again. No I would not recommend it because you will get in trouble with the authorities or the Cartel. Either or it is not something you want to be involved period unless you are a Mexican Citizen. For more information please check out this video I made on the subject ua-cam.com/users/livet50nynY_GJU?feature=share
So what I'm hearing is, " people without papers come to the United States all the time and have businesses and never pay a single dime of income tax so don't feel bad about returning the favor"😂
If you are not LEGALLY obligated to pay taxes then what is the issue? You only pay taxes when legally obligated to. It is the responsibility of the Government to enforce this. If you leave it up to the people to enforce it themselves they will always find a work around
just tell people how to do it Right not on edge..............
This is how to do it right. This is how it's done in Mexico. It is different than where you come from.
You're really miserable
Dude you're hurting your credibility by not knowing that the Mexican IRS is called "hacienda"
Credibility? I'm not trying to be an expert in anything. Just making some videos for youtube to help inform people. Mexican IRS is SAT and Hacienda is the Department of treasury. I looked it up on Google for you since I have no credibility. Thanks for sharing!
The ramguy😂😊

"Everything you need to know"! Really?
True story: Gringo-run pizzeria in San Antonio, Lake Chapala. Wages paid fully or partially under the table, as is common in the industry. Mexican employee caught stealing out of the till, also very common in Mexico. Fired of course, and gets even by ratting out the biz to the Mexican payroll tax authorities. Owners leave abruptly due to many years of evaded payroll taxes for numerous staff.
True story: Digital nomad stockbroker/investment consultant lives large in a nice house in Riberas, Lake Chapala. Kidnapped, of course.
He did escape, but left Mexico soon after.
True story: I call my doctor in Chapala. The phone rings busy. For days. So I email him. Yes, he will unlock the door and admit me at a pre-arranged time (only). Why? Pandilleros are trying to extort him.
Moral(s): Mexico is a shitty place to run a biz, even for a Mexican. Gringos are better off earning & saving in a "high wage/rule of law" country, and then spending (only, and in a non-ostentatious way) in a "low cost/no rules" country like Mexico.
These are good points. However, if one is going to run a business in Mexico as a foreigner it is best to always run the business above board. I run a business the way I did in the States and have found great success, because as you've alluded to above Mexicans can go from those cute polite people to scum of the Earth rather fast....
Thank you both for sharing!
