I love how almost every Hogan match inclusion is superseded by "Was it a technical masterclass?" or "Was the in-ring stuff great?" or something in the same vein. I also really love the 2010 Royal Rumble inclusion, WWE had a really balanced roster at that time, and everybody got a chance to shine (Ziggler and Bourne having as great as a start-to-the-rumble sprint as any, Punk's "sermons" on the mic while waiting for wrestlers to come in, Mid-carders like Rhodes, McIntyre, DiBiase, Morrison, Chris Masters, and Carlito getting moments to shine, Shelton downing HBK AND John Cena for awhile, R-Truth eliminating both Big Show and Mark Henry, Kofi establishing his upper-midcard status over guys like Truth and Swagger by eliminating them, the top-stars getting most of the eliminations, HBK's whole journey and willingness to even sacrifice friendship with HHH, Edge returning and winning after getting revenge on Jericho, Beth Phoenix being awesome, Miz and MVP continuing their feud after their match prior, what an expertly booked match).
Honorable Mentions: Cena vs Michaels (Raw/WM 23) HHH vs Batista (Vengeance 05) Edge vs Taker (WM 24) Eddie vs Benoit (Vengeance 2003) Bret Hart vs Diesel (Survivor Series 1995) Royal Rumble 2008/2001/2004 Angle vs Austin (SummerSlam 2001) Cena vs Edge (Unforgiven 06)
We've had many many of super matches in WWE, in this video you have shown several of them. These are the ones I love the most: - Bret Hart vs mr perfect SummerSlam '91 - Kurt Angle vs Undertaker no way out 2006 - Edge vs Mick Foley WrestleMania 22 - AJ Styles vs John Cena SummerSlam 2016 - Dolph Ziggler vs miz no mercy 2016 And many many others... The best royal Rumble match: men 2020 -
Stone Cold vs Bret Hart at Wrestlemania 13 WCW vs NWO vs Piper & 4 Horsemen at Uncensored 97 Bret Hart vs Stone Cold Street Fight at Raw 97 Benoit vs HBK vs HHH at Wrestlemania 04 Mankind vs Taker KOTR 1998
In my opinion these matches should be in there : Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels (WM12) John Cena vs. Shawn Michaels (Raw) Royal Rumble 2020 John Cena vs. Brock Lesnar (SummerSlam '14) Bayley vs. Sasha Banks (TakeOver: Brooklyn) Royal Rumble 2001 Edge vs. The Undertaker (WM24) Cody Rhodes vs. Seth Rollins (WM38) AJ Styles vs. John Cena (SummerSlam '16) Team Raw vs. Team SmackDown (Survivor Series '16) Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens (Battleground '16) Kurt Angle vs. The Rock (No Way Out '01) Rey Mysterio vs. Kurt Angle (SummerSlam '02) Jeff Hardy vs. The Undertaker (Raw) Edge vs. The Undertaker (SummerSlam '08) Johnny Gargano vs. Tommaso Ciampa (TakeOver: New Orleans) Roman Reigns vs. Jey Uso (Clash of Champions '20) The Usos vs. The New Day (Hell in a Cell '17) Brock Lesnar vs. Daniel Bryan (Survivor Series '18)
in my opinion, Tyler Breeze vs Velveteen Dream is one of the most underrated matches of all time. Hope it's on this list. id tell anyone that watches wrestling to watch rhat match. absolute banger with excellent commentary by mauro ranallo
Johnny Gargano vs Adam Cole from NXT Takeover New York is my favourite match of all time. Watching the last 10-15 minutes of that match live on the WWE Network was the most thrilling 10-15 minutes I've ever had watching wrestling and once Takeover New York was over, I knew Wrestlemania the next day was not going to come close to topping Takeover New York
Cole/Gargano 1 is peak black and gold, contender for the best NXT match of all time (personally I believe the NA ladder match from TakeOver New Orleans is the best NXT match, but that's due to personal tastes)
I stopped watching wrestling a few years after ecw broke up and got bought out.... I'll go back and watch this one since it's so highly rated by you guys
46:41 That slow-to-form grin on Bob Holly's face is everything I needed on this chilly but sunny Sunday in September. 46:45 Hart vs. Bulldog at SummerSlam '92 is _the_ best example of a match being called on the fly in the ring (albeit from a pre-planned setup that only Bret could remember once the bell rang), but also of one wrestler "spoon-feeding" their opponent in order to get through the match. This match is what woke Vince up to the possibility that Hart could be a credible World Champion.
Great list, I would’ve added the Goldust vs Randy Orton match from raw when Cody was fired, the Jeff Hardy vs Undertaker ladder match, the Rey Mysterio vs Shawn Michaels match on the smack down celebrating Eddie’s life, TLC 4, and just because I liked it as a kid the Bam Bam Bigelow vs Lawrence Taylor match.
very good list, there are a few that even I have to check out. One that must be in everyone's list: Bulldog vs Owen in Berlin for the European Title. An absolute classic, simply brilliant.
Interesting the lack of NXT matches. I agree with it, just because I want them to be featured in another list of this type. Also, I would have included the Ending of the Streak here due to the historical significance, and also Jericho vs HBK at No Mercy 2008
Before I started the video I said to myself the TLC match has to be on this list. You just know which TLC match. I still remember my buddy who ordered the PPV for us, turning to me, and saying it was the best match he'd ever seen. Still my favorite match of all time.
5 that weren't on this list (I think 🤔), but people should watch... □Lesnar vs Daniel Bryan ~Survivor Series 2017~ □Lesnar vs AJ Styles ~Survivor Series 2018~ □Bret Hart vs British Bulldog ~In Your House 5~ □Edge & Christian vs Hardy Boyz, Tag-Team Ladder match ~No Mercy 1999~ □Shawn Michaels and Diesel vs Razor Ramon and The 1-2-3 Kid ~Action Zone~
This list is really comprehensive! Some classics I knew about and ones I had never heard of! I'd love to see this idea done again, but maybe do a combo of WCW, ECW and NXT matches perhaps.
9:42 As funny as it sounds Dude Love VS Stone Cold was actually the very first full wrestling match I ever watched. I had seen clips of of matches before but Dude Love VS Stone Cold was my first. My love of wrestling actually started with the 2k games and when I was younger I didn't know who ANY of those characters were because I only got the games to make funny characters and had no real interest in actual wrestling. I watched like clips of it online after getting my first 2k game, primarily just like funny moment compilations, but when I had finally unlocked Dude Love in 2k18 I was just like "Is this a fucking wrestling hippie? I have to know what this is about" First match ever was Dude Love VS Stone Cold, and I've been a fan ever since. I always preferred the goofier characters to the more serious characters so the idea of a wrestler hippie was simply too much for me to turn down. It's super cool to see this match on this video as I would've NEVER expected it
To me any match that had Benoit in it was a top tier match... What that man did outside of the ring was undeniable horrible but what he did in the ring was also undeniable some of the best if not the best matches any wrestling company has ever had...
My predictions for this list: - 2018 Crown Jewel DX vs Brothers of Destruction - 2019 HIAC Bray Wyatt vs Seth Rollins - The Entire WrestleMania IX card
Perry/Rddie/Dean vs team xtreme on smackdown where lita does a poetry in motion into a hurricanrana on Perry is THE standard for how to get people thinking "wtf is going toncome next?" Without bags of shenanigans
The wwe matches I show to non fans are: HBK vs HHH Summerslam 02,HBK vs Undertaker WM 26,Hogan vs Warrior WM6,Bret vs Owen WM 10,TLC 2 WM 17,Royal Rumble 2007
*This list was amazing and really important to wrestling history. While watching this i noticed a few moments i knew of but couldn’t quite remember which match it came from or was featured around & then boom. Great job* 👏🏽
So many great choices. And I'm beyond happy to see Bret vs. 123 Kid on this list. Some fans don't give Sean Waltman his due as a wrestler. Put some respect on Waltman, kids
I definitely agree to the majority of this list! Here are some matches that I would have added: The Rock vs Triple H at Backlash 2000 The Rock vs Kurt Angle vs Undertaker at Vengeance 2002 Steve Austin vs Undertaker at Summerslam 1998 Jeff Hardy vs Triple H vs Edge at Armageddon 2008 WWE Championship Elimination Chamber Match at Elimination Chamber 2017 and also 2019 The Miz vs Dolph Ziggler at No Mercy 2016 Shawn Michaels vs Mr. Mcmahon at Wrestlemania 22 DX vs Shane and Vince Mcmahon and Big Show at Unforgiven 2006 Alliance vs WWF 5 on 5 Survivor Series match at Survivor Series 2001 Lita vs Stephanie Mcmahon with The Rock as guest referee on Aug 21 2000 episode of Raw Just to name a few.
Of course, noone will agree 100% with your list, but it is a fine effort. I was glad to see Angle-Benoit on the list as it may be the objectively best match I have seen. The ovation for Benoit was so heart-warming. Too bad he threw all that away. I will mention two tag matches that I would put on my list. First is the Hart Foundation-Demolition from Summerslam 90. That match made me a lifelong Bret Hart fan. And I have to also point to Orient Express-Rockers from Royal Rumble 91. The Express at this time consisted of the members of the former Badd Company, with whom the Rockers had worked a lot. It is 'just' a tag match, but is near perfection as the teams have tremendous chemistry.
Really thrilled the 10-man tag from Canadian Stampede got love here. Underrated classic with an amazing crowd. I missed Lesnar vs 'Taker from Mania 30. It was on there, right?
I really liked this list a lot. I am well aware you can't list everyone and everything. That said, there's a few stars and matches I wish could have made even one appearance at least: Nothing at all from either King Kong Bundy or Big John Studd In 85 and 86, I can recall seeing Hogan and Andre vs. Bundy and Studd. Those of us who were young then had never seen such a massive (in size) tag match. Over 1,600 pounds in the ring, and it definitely caught our attention. Jake the Snake vs. Rick Martel, Blindfold match at Mania 7 Yes, it was a gimmick, but spectacle was a highlight of a lot of these matches listed here. Shawn Michaels vs. Rick Martel, Summerslam 92 The funniest match in Federation history, with a stipulation that neither one can hit each other in their flawless faces. MVP of the match is Sensational Sherri, who keeps passing out whenever either one's about to bust the other one in the chops. Also, no Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Ted DiBiase, Ravishing Rick Rude, or Kevin Nash? I'll simply say it would've been nice to have a single mention of those four, among others.
1:03:51 Writer: "Vince, I got an idea for Lesnar. We do a David vs Goliath story-" Vince: "Goliath vs Goliath you say? I like it. Two big...MEATY MEN, SLAPPING MEAT. It's genius. I don't know how I keep coming up with these ideas, I amaze myself sometimes." Writer: "Uh sorry sir but I actually said David vs Goliath. It's a-" Vince: "Who's David? Is he 7ft tall? Go give him a contract, he can choose his own salary, just get it done. Alright, we have a Wrestlemania main event! Oh hey, while you're out there, go find Hornswoggle and tell him to come dance for me while I eat my lunch." Writer: "Uhhh...yeah? Yeah, sure thing Vince... *exits office* ...you crazy old bastard..."
8:39 The hardys vs the dudleys vs Edge & Christian should be higher on the list imo, maybe even in the top 10. That match literally raised the bar and set new expectations for TLC matches moving foward. Even now almost a quarter of a century later that match not only still holds up but I dare say few TLC matches that have happened afterwards can measure up to this one.
If it was a list countdown to an actual #1 match, it will always be Undertaker vs Mankind Hell in a Cell Want carnage? Check Want gutsy performance? Check Want crowd reactions? Check Want a star making performance? Check Memorabilia? Check Replay value? Check A match to make any non wrestling fans be amazed? Check Makes the "It's fake" crowd wide eyed? Check
Fun fact: RVD v Jeff Hardy at Invasion while it was a remarkable match one of the greatest ever hardcore title matches no doubt, it wasn’t their first. Check back to RAW in ‘96 when ECW “invaded” RVD was featured in a match vs a very young Jeff Hardy.
Matt Hardy was my favorite wrestler ever, back in the day. I got to speak with him once, just before his 'surprise' return to Mania in that tag match (for which I marked out and popped, no shame,) and he was like, the coolest dude ever. Hardyz are the kings of tag, in my eyes, now and forever lol
There actually should be 4 HBK-Taker matches. Wrestlemania 25 & 26 of course Bad Blood 97 first Hell in a Cell match And the one left off this list... Royal Rumble 98 casket match. It definitely wasn't a wrestling clinic like the Mania matches, but there were a lot of notable moments. If you watch closely, this is the match where HBK suffered the back injury that would end his career for 4 years. Also, half the roster came out to help HBK, but Kane came out to clear out the ring. When it looked like Kane was on his brother's side, he ended up attacking him himself. And if you didn't see how that played out, you should definitely go back and watch it.
Great video. I think you could probably do another one of these. Cena Vs Michaels on Raw, Bulldog and Owen European title tourney final, Taker and Jeff Hardy, Goldust and Piper Hollywood Backlot Brawl, Michaels Vs Shelton Benjamin, Outlaws Vs Foley and Funk in the dumpster match, APA Vs Public Enemy.
RAW, October 18th, 1999 Al Snow vs Val Venis put on a criminally underrated match one of my personal all time favorites, stole the show as far as in ring work goes...
Brett vs Austin at WM13 should have been way higher. A Star Making turn for Austin ( brett was already a star) the promos leading up to it, the match it self, then the finish, and the post match double turn where all perfect. IMO it is the best match in WWE history

Honorable Mentions:
Cena vs Michaels (Raw/WM 23)
HHH vs Batista (Vengeance 05)
Edge vs Taker (WM 24)
Eddie vs Benoit (Vengeance 2003)
Bret Hart vs Diesel (Survivor Series 1995)
Royal Rumble 2008/2001/2004
Angle vs Austin (SummerSlam 2001)
Cena vs Edge (Unforgiven 06)
We've had many many of super matches in WWE, in this video you have shown several of them. These are the ones I love the most:
- Bret Hart vs mr perfect SummerSlam '91
- Kurt Angle vs Undertaker no way out 2006
- Edge vs Mick Foley WrestleMania 22
- AJ Styles vs John Cena SummerSlam 2016
- Dolph Ziggler vs miz no mercy 2016
And many many others...

WCW vs NWO vs Piper & 4 Horsemen at Uncensored 97
Bret Hart vs Stone Cold Street Fight at Raw 97

An underrated match is between Hakushi and the 1-2-3 Kid at Summerslam 1995.

Bret Hart vs. Shawn Michaels (WM12)

Rock vs HHH Summerslam 98 is THE MATCH that made me a fan of wrestling. 6 years old and I was hooked.
in my opinion, Tyler Breeze vs Velveteen Dream is one of the most underrated matches of all time.
NXT in 2018-19 was at its peak
Cole/Gargano 1 is peak black and gold, contender for the best NXT match of all time (personally I believe the NA ladder match from TakeOver New Orleans is the best NXT match, but that's due to personal tastes)
I stopped watching wrestling a few years after ecw broke up and got bought out.... I'll go back and watch this one since it's so highly rated by you guys
Well said. That match was epic. NXT for a few years (Gold and Black) was the best wrestling in the world.
Now this is an ambitious video. Good effort!
My favourite part of the 6-man HIAC match is seeing a close up of Rikishi after the choke slam into the truck - he's visibly shaking with adrenaline
Lol. Visibly shaking with adrenaline? Dude, it’s all fake. He’s just acting.
@@cakes3958omg, wrestling is fake?! I HAD NO IDEA
foh, clown
@@cakes3958no one asked buddy
Great list, I would’ve added the Goldust vs Randy Orton match from raw when Cody was fired, the Jeff Hardy vs Undertaker ladder match, the Rey Mysterio vs Shawn Michaels match on the smack down celebrating Eddie’s life, TLC 4, and just because I liked it as a kid the Bam Bam Bigelow vs Lawrence Taylor match.
The Sami Zayn and Cesaro series on NXT are definitely matches to watch.
Great vid just wish there was a time stamp or a list of the matches in the description 😢
This is actually really helpful!!! As someone who just recently became a wrestling fan (partially bc of this channel
very good list, there are a few that even I have to check out.
□Lesnar vs Daniel Bryan ~Survivor Series 2017~
□Lesnar vs AJ Styles ~Survivor Series 2018~
□Bret Hart vs British Bulldog ~In Your House 5~
□Edge & Christian vs Hardy Boyz, Tag-Team Ladder match ~No Mercy 1999~
□Shawn Michaels and Diesel vs Razor Ramon and The 1-2-3 Kid ~Action Zone~
Lesnar vs d bry was at 2018, and Brock vs aj was in 2017
Next.... 101 matches you should never watch
Love these types of videos, keep up the great work boys!!
It's super cool to see this match on this video as I would've NEVER expected it
Now rank this 101 match from worst to best
Ya he should
Cody Rhodes V Seth Rollins at Wrestlemania 38. Codys return, Seths reaction to the return, the commentary, and the match were just perfect.
To me any match that had Benoit in it was a top tier match... What that man did outside of the ring was undeniable horrible but what he did in the ring was also undeniable some of the best if not the best matches any wrestling company has ever had...
I remember watching HHH vs Cactus on freakin g DVD when I was a kid over and over. I felt it was a classic before UA-cam was even a big deal, wild.
the nerd in me really wants this list written down in full - amazing vid!
Would be interested to see a 101 outside of wwe
Shelton Benjamin vs Shawn Michaels was the best match on Raw ever
Long list videos, a cultaholic staple ❤
Love seeing what ideas you can come up with for these massive lists
My predictions for this list:
- 2018 Crown Jewel DX vs Brothers of Destruction
- 2019 HIAC Bray Wyatt vs Seth Rollins
- The Entire WrestleMania IX card
Thank you guys for making this list. I always wanted a list of must see matches of WWE
ORTON VS MICK FOLEY HARDCORE MATCH Will Always Be a 5 STAR CLASSIC💯 It showed RANDY wasn’t just about Talk… He could walk as Well💯
A gigantic list, wow. Couldn't have been easy.
If I could add one, it'd be WALTER vs Ilja, 2020
It's these long format videos that have me coming back. I wish more were on the podcast feed.
Did I miss it? Where's Edge vs. Mick Foley? That flaming table at the end was awesome.
Perry/Rddie/Dean vs team xtreme on smackdown where lita does a poetry in motion into a hurricanrana on Perry is THE standard for how to get people thinking "wtf is going toncome next?" Without bags of shenanigans
The WeeLC match was one of the best segments ever. I loved that match.
I go back to that match a lot, underrated banger
@@chadleywilliams4724 absolutely. even his WCW work against Dean Malenko and Eddie Guerrero is standout
I definitely agree to the majority of this list! Here are some matches that I would have added:
The Rock vs Triple H at Backlash 2000
The Rock vs Kurt Angle vs Undertaker at Vengeance 2002
Steve Austin vs Undertaker at Summerslam 1998
Jeff Hardy vs Triple H vs Edge at Armageddon 2008
WWE Championship Elimination Chamber Match at Elimination Chamber 2017 and also 2019
The Miz vs Dolph Ziggler at No Mercy 2016
Shawn Michaels vs Mr. Mcmahon at Wrestlemania 22
DX vs Shane and Vince Mcmahon and Big Show at Unforgiven 2006
Alliance vs WWF 5 on 5 Survivor Series match at Survivor Series 2001
Lita vs Stephanie Mcmahon with The Rock as guest referee on Aug 21 2000 episode of Raw
Just to name a few.
Just started watching but I'm expecting WeeLC to be on here, such an emotional and influential match.
WEE L C was one of the best of all time
NXT Takeovers in 2018 we’re 🔥🔥🔥
I know you don't have an order on this list but Foley winning the title should be 1! That match/segment changed everything! Best moment ever!
Foley & triple h rivalry was soo damn underrated 🔥
This is a time out of my day one. And worth every second. I love deep dives like this.
The way you describe the matches really makes them seem like must see tv great job
I can’t believe you ranked Shawn Michaels versus the undertaker that hi it’s one of my favorite matches ever and it just doesn’t make any sense
As mentioned in the intro, these aren't in any specific order.
@@Cultaholic Hmmmm wierd haha
Are u referring to the wrestlemania 25 match
Really thrilled the 10-man tag from Canadian Stampede got love here. Underrated classic with an amazing crowd.
I missed Lesnar vs 'Taker from Mania 30. It was on there, right?
I really liked this list a lot. I am well aware you can't list everyone and everything. That said, there's a few stars and matches I wish could have made even one appearance at least:
Nothing at all from either King Kong Bundy or Big John Studd
In 85 and 86, I can recall seeing Hogan and Andre vs. Bundy and Studd. Those of us who were young then had never seen such a massive (in size) tag match. Over 1,600 pounds in the ring, and it definitely caught our attention.
Jake the Snake vs. Rick Martel, Blindfold match at Mania 7
Yes, it was a gimmick, but spectacle was a highlight of a lot of these matches listed here.
Shawn Michaels vs. Rick Martel, Summerslam 92
The funniest match in Federation history, with a stipulation that neither one can hit each other in their flawless faces.
Unpopular opinion: Bret vs Perfect at KoR '93 was better than SummerSlam '91.
1:03:51
Writer: "Vince, I got an idea for Lesnar. We do a David vs Goliath story-"
Vince: "Goliath vs Goliath you say? I like it. Two big...MEATY MEN, SLAPPING MEAT. It's genius. I don't know how I keep coming up with these ideas, I amaze myself sometimes."
Writer: "Uh sorry sir but I actually said David vs Goliath. It's a-"
Vince: "Who's David? Is he 7ft tall? Go give him a contract, he can choose his own salary, just get it done. Alright, we have a Wrestlemania main event! Oh hey, while you're out there, go find Hornswoggle and tell him to come dance for me while I eat my lunch."
Writer: "Uhhh...yeah? Yeah, sure thing Vince...
*exits office*
...you crazy old bastard..."
I know it won't be here, bit Kane vs Raven vs Big Show is such a fun and entertaining match.
Totally stoked for every Monday night raw ranked worst to best.
What a great video, now need it in list form so I can check off the ones I’ve seen already.
If it was a list countdown to an actual #1 match, it will always be
Undertaker vs Mankind Hell in a Cell
Want carnage? Check
Want gutsy performance? Check
Want crowd reactions? Check
Want a star making performance? Check
Memorabilia? Check
Replay value? Check
A match to make any non wrestling fans be amazed? Check
Makes the "It's fake" crowd wide eyed? Check
Hell of a job, mate!! I’m knackered for all of you. Kudos to all!! Love it!!
1:20:26 that’s my favorite match of all time
Now that's what I call a list.
No complaints, but if I were choosing a Styles vs. Cena match for the list, I would've put their SummerSlam match on.
How the fuck is this shorter than the podcast?
The podcast sucks ngl
They can wrap everything up in 30 minutes
Shows how much of my life I have devoted to watching wrestling. I've already seen 94 of the 101. Guess it won't be hard to check the other 7.
Bianca V. Sasha was MOTN at WM37 alongside
Miz/Morrison V. Damian/Bad Bunny
That Ladder match between EDGE vs Eddie in September 2002, this is the match that eventually led to his neck getting broken in February 2003.
There actually should be 4 HBK-Taker matches.
Wrestlemania 25 & 26 of course
Bad Blood 97 first Hell in a Cell match
And the one left off this list...
Amazing video! I love this channel. Now to watch the 23 matches on this video I haven’t seen 🍿
