    You can now buy this on Amazon, though it's $350. There's currently a sale on Aliexpress for less, but I know some people don't want to use that (Link below is affiliated, not Aliexpress links):

    I actually have this little thing...
    ... and yes, I love it.
    It is not strong, nor lives long with one charge - the only painpont for now -, but it does the job done when you actually have to carry it around on long trips and still do some light work on the side. And yes, the Windows 11 Home it comes with helps a lot in means of applicaiton compatibility, thus usefulness.
    I actually scraped together the money after I have tried to purchase a couple - yes, a couple - of old notebooks of similar sizes and upgrading them so I can actually use them... and I wish that the Chuwi Minibook X would have come sooner to save me some trouble, not to mention money (even if I love old computers, love to tinker with them ;) ).
    (The four cores are just unbeatable, not to mention size, weight, and even the screen resolution.)

    • @gamers-generation
      @gamers-generation  8 місяців тому +1

      Thanks for your comment! I think for having a smaller portable laptop (particularly one that has a touch screen and convertibility) this one should check most boxes for you particularly for school work/productivity. At the price I paid, (again going to around $300-$350 is pushing the recommendation down a bit) there aren't many competitors. If you look around on Best Buy for instance (if you're US-based) most laptops in this price range are either non-convertible, have much older CPUs, are much heavier/bigger, and probably can't game anyway.
      That said, if you do pay more money, you can probably get something that converts or is a 2-in-1 like the Asus Flow Z13, that IS a lot more money though, even when on sale (usually aroundd $750 or so for the last generation with a 3060 inside).

      Great question, actually I didn't know about the 3140 when I bought the Minibook X, but I do prefer the smaller bezels and weight, despite the smaller battery. The 3140 does seem price competitive when refurbished as you pointed out, my only gripes there would probably be the 4/8GB of RAM and the smaller SSD for the price. I see what you mean, though it is regularly on sale it seems for under $300. I did a quick Newegg search for a 5300U laptop and most of them are in the $300 range or more; while you get a bigger screen, they're also not convertible, so there are definitely trades/compromises that should be made. Also, 5300U uses Vega graphics which are also no longer officially supported; so there's that also. But I absolutely understand where you're coming from.

    • @gamers-generation
      @gamers-generation  5 місяців тому

      Probably a couple of reasons. MacBooks don't have touchscreens or convertibility for one, and for another you'd have to buy one used and some people prefer simply not to buy used electronics (I personally have no issue with them generally); the last one I can think of currently though is that the 2015 MacBooks will likely enter EOL soon and no longer receive critical updates.
      I acknowledge they are a different kind of product though and the Minibook is probably better compared to say an iPad though those can vary in prices significantly.
