Hello, Adam. FYI-what nearly everyone recognizes and uses as a 'fanny pack' is, in actuality, what is more properly known as a 'grip bag.' In the movie and television industries, a class of laborer exists, known as 'grips.' These grips are the 'johnny-on-the-spot' laborers who may be required to perform almost any detail labor needed at the moment, such as holding a light (hence, the term, grip), adjusting a key light or a microphone boom or a ballast line, etc. A good grip will store in one's grip bag nearly all the tools that grip will likely need for performing those chores while on set or on location. Grips typically wear their grip bags on the side of one or the other of one's hips, not on one's fanny side and not in front. Due to the obvious handy nature of these pouches or bags, these grip bags suddenly became widely popular in the 1980's in Central Florida by tourists, retirees, and soccer moms, all of whom would invariably wear them in front. The popularity of these grip bags has waned, somewhat, but they remain available because they remain handy items. I share this with you because you might find it of at least some mild interest. On a more humorous note, I think the rectangular battery that you equated to a lipstick actually more closely resembles one of those PEZ candy dispensers (grin). I appreciate the video. Please keep making them. Cheers.
Problem with pistol lights from what I hear is it can’t be used defensively like a regular flashlight. Like you said, your base defense tool is a flashlight which is wise and something I have heard before. Zero legal consequences with pointing a flashlight at someone (unless you use strobe/they are epileptic) unless you have it mounted on a gun because obviously pointing one points the other (big reason some police have a flashlight and a gun separate.) If you see someone in the dark with a flashlight you will automatically point it directly upon them
Boot strategy with tq's is real. Been carrying as such for the last ~18 months. To make it slightly more ideal for moving I've been using a piece of shock cord to hold it more to my leg, however some purpose built nylon would be definitely better. Your milage may vary with comfortablity and life span of the tq.
Some very insightful selections! Regarding wallets and pick pockets: I have a wallet option that is made from thin cordura and has a small D-ring so I can attach it by a number of means to a belt loop. Not my first daily choice, but a really nice option for travel, large crowds in tight quarters, or any time when I feel pick pocketing is higher risk.
Snake Staff tourniquet is 1" wide - require much more pressure to stop the bleeding. I would rather use a SOF-T, it packs more compact than the standard CAT, but is still 1.5" wide. The .5" doesn't sound like a lot, but it really helps especially during self-application.
A big thing that I added to EDC, especially for travel is a Thyrm Cellvault and USB-C rechargeable CR123/16340 and 18650 batteries. My two Go-To lights are the Surefire E2D and EDCL1-T. Being able to have spare power in something a little bigger than a BIC lighter is a nice sense of security, and it just chills in the fanny pack.
A multi-tool makes a good improvised blunt force object if it's sitting in your pocket in the sheath or on your belt. Edit: I carry bulk medical for my family. Helping as a bystander would be more of hold direct pressure or use a TQ.
My everyday carry. Knives: clinch pick, and my endura spiderco. Firearm: Glock 19 Gen 5 mos with acro Gen 2 and a stream light TLR. But that's what I have on me religiously everyday.
Sitting here looking at his EDC, first thing that comes to mind "Batman" great ball of fire Batman. All great items for sure and all well and good for you young whipper snappers. As someone older and yes back and neck problems from the days Mom told me not to do, and after Father Time sets in you will find yourself shedding a lot of things. I am down to a Sig 365 XL with 16 rounds, auto knife and lot of time a light. I try to keep a first Aid bag in my truck along with many such things but my days of playing Batman are long gone. Don't get me wrong, I don't have the ability to play Batman, not that I haven't tried.
I highly recommend having pepper spray if you are carrying. Having a non lethal gives you options. I suggest POM, very compact but powerful for only $13 and is as small as a key fob.
I wear a “cankle” med kit to save myself. I know I don’t have enough to save everyone but if I’m carrying my pistol, I’m wearing my cankle. Also, an innocuous “lockpicking” tool is an old gift card that I can use to open locked building doors. I carry that in my wallet and nobody thinks twice about it and it won’t get me in trouble as a B&E tool.
Seems easier to simply use one's fist at that point. Thousands of years of human combat have shown again and again that blunt force impacts are more effective than pressure points.
Years ago, your "EDC",was a wallet, watch, pocket knife, coin purse, handkerchief and pen. Sometimes a checkbook or small notebook/binder. Some guys carried folding knives. Then, the cellphone became standard. Now, everything is specialized, like you're a secret agent or spec ops. I tell people, carry whatever is legal in your city or state. Some areas don't care about your politics or whether you have a CCW. Sorry, if I offended anyone. Bit, that's just the way it is.
If you fold it flat the SOF-T tourniquets fit neatly in a pocket. The snakestaff TQs are pretty cool tho I think they'll get a lot of people carrying something instead of leaving it in their car.
Not me but a guy I know, who's definitely not me, can vouch for the Black Triangle knives. He has been wanded several times at sporting events and zoos with zero issue.
I’ve traveled to England and France, I wasn’t going anywhere without my knife. I got through all the checkpoints and I actually needed it in France when a guy pulled a box cutter on me, he ran when I quickly pulled a real knife out. And, I’ve went through security at a sports game where I live, by putting it in my shoe.
On the arguments for a Fanny pack, they’re more common than before and nobody notices, etc. all those arguments apply equally to backpacks but backpacks carry much more. You can edc them both.
To be a knife guy, it doesn't matter how many you carry. What matters is why you have the knives. If you buy knives only as a tool, you're not a knife guy even if you have 50. If you buy knives because they look cool or they have some unique mechanical action or design element... even if you have only 1 knife you are a knife guy.
@@theKashConnoisseur Wow now you are starting to understand how the real world works, except your opinion is so fucking stupid people have trouble interpreting what you are actually trying to say - before of course dismissing it as trash.
Tu Lam tapes on shock cord that allows you one/two finger onto his flashlight just in case he needs to go hands on. If you do, then you can confidently use your flashlight hand for anything else. When it freed up again you can go ahead and use it again as it will still be in your ready state. Pretty cool. I have that configured on my light
Snake Staff is a great TQ, but they're always out of stock. Even when they get in stock, they sell out in SECONDS! Been waiting for a year. Great video, very comprehensive, interesting perspective. Thanks!
If you haven't been able to get your hands on a Snake Staff TQ yet, then I'm left wondering how you know how great they are... I won't believe the hype either way until I test one for myself. However, the "Shieldbearer of Faith" channel has a review video that points out what may be some big flaws with the Snake Staff TQ. Worth checking out. I do like to see companies trying to innovate the TQ, so this is not me being negative about Snake Staff out of hatred. Just constructive criticism. The design has alot of potential.
Flashlights are a must, but I’m glad I’m not the only that thinks it can be uncomfortable though 😅. I have to carry at 1 or 5 positions to be comfortable.
My Benchmade Hidden Canyon and Olight Baton flashlight are my two most used tools. The flashlight, in particular, has fended off a badger who was running at me. It was early morning, and as I was getting back to my truck, a Badger - roughly 25yrds away - was drinking at the nearby stream. I slowly backed up to the truck when the badger noticed me. At first, I thought he would go the other way, then he turned and started running toward me. My options were throwing a rock (which would have only ticked him off), using the boom stick, try to reach the truck, or strobe the flashlight as a warning. Thankfully, it worked, and he stopped in his tracks and decided I wasn't worth the effort.
Speaking of AirTags! I love apple products especially after I tell this story. So one day after getting ready to leave I had forgotten inside the house I remembered quickly. So I set my small carry pack that had my Glock gen 5 mos and other edc items down on the back edge of my truck. Yes I went back in the house to grab something and came back out in a rush and completely forgot I set it down in that spot. So yes It never dawned on me I didn’t grab the pack to put inside with me like I always do. I went to take care of some things and didn’t need the pack for any I was doing. So came back home and realized I didn’t grab my bag. So I went to get it and didn’t see it in the usually spot in the truck. I looked everywhere and thought did I even bring it with me. And checked and checked and didn’t find it. Then I back tracked and remembered I set It down on the truck back end and was like oh! Crap! I drove down the street to look for it on the road or side of the road no luck. So I went down to the local police station to report that my bag was missing and it had my Glock 19 inside. So made the report and left bummed with my wife to go grab some dinner. While eating I had a phone call and needed to use my apple AirPods and couldn’t find them. I was like what the hell! Then bingo I remember they were in the bag so yes you can track your AirPods and I did just that and found the exact location where they were at a residence in a neighborhood a couple miles from my own. I let law enforcement know the information and sure enough they went to the location and actually knocked on wrong door as that person was not home. Then they waited for a while and decided to check with the house next door and bingo the guy came out said I kinda figured why were the cops hanging outside on my street. He said he found a small pack on the side of the road and was going to wait unit the next day to report it. So he had my things and gave it to law enforcement without incident. I was so thankful that my AirPods were in the pack as I keep them in there as well thank goodness! Got lucky on that one close call!
Another thing that is worth your while is doing the classic key copy trick with some clay. All you need it some low burn point metal and boom, you can make copies of your house key etc to keep in your vehicle if you lose your keys for some reason.
I hope you realize with modern door locks and warding (the zig zag shape of the key way) it’s not as easy or as necessary to cast a key anymore. Taking imprints in clay is to quickly record the bitting (the uniquely cut pattern of a key) is honestly only useful to take back and decode to cut a key blank to match with a hand punch tool in privacy. All very easy to accomplish with a simple high quality smartphones camera photo and Photoshop overlaying templates that are freely available online. If you want copies for your own house, simply take your key to your local hardware store and have em cut a few duplicates out of actual key blanks for a couple bucks each.
Or you could have your local grocery or home improvement store employee make a copy of your keys using a key making machine. No need to reinvent the wheel to make copies of your own keys. Save the secret squirrel stuff for secret squirrel occasions.
I thought about that Surefire Stelleto, but didnt like that the battery is affixed. I have a few Streamlight protac2L-X's and really like them. 123's and 18650's can be used. I keep 2 surefire 18650 chargers with batteries in all slots. Anytime Im headed out, I switch out the battery and know I have a light for many hours. I think theyre 500 lumen. The clinch pick is my choice for a defensive blade, to fight towards my pistol, if needed. That Staccato is nice, but I dont think I could carry one in the summer. Im in NC too, many times my glocks are dripping wet in the summer. I'm not stressin the 2 rounds per mag difference.
I recently picked up the olight arkfeld pro light and its been a grest edc flashlight. It has a light, laser, and a black light all in one and its super slim and it uses the same magnet charger that some of my handgun lights use. That one of the reasons i picked it up, it makes having a charger near by. Much more convenient haha.. but theres a lot of good lights out there for sure. I got a few of the better brands edc lights and they are all great❤
Outstanding presentation, I think you covered it all. I am also a strong believer in carring a fixed blade, I carry the Esee pr4 in a kydex sheath, weak side. It is not necessarily a fighting blade, but can do, not to mention it makes a good camp/ hunting blade. I do use the fanny packs at times, I depend heavily on a edc day pack, for medical, extra mags, food, water, fire, snively gear, etc. Again great presentation, thanks for sharing.
I used to carry one rake pick in my wallet back in the day. We went to Daytona Bikeweek and my buddy locked his keyes in his big ol 1/4 million dollar camper. Was about to break the window and I stopped him, and unlocked the door darn near as fast as having a key. Needless to say, I was his hero. Lol. That is just one of many times it was useful. I helped a lady get in her car, when she locked it when it was running, with her dog in the car, in the summer
Can you guys do a car kit video? I have a Lazarus head rest pouch and besides normal medical stuff I'd like to see what your guys ideas are. Maybe a crash bag?
My edc consists of my handgun with one mag reload, OC spray, flashlight, and a small thin boxcutter that could almost be a bookmarker. Now my backpack safety equipment I keep in my Jeep is more like what you have on your table.
When I go to the gas station or out at night. I keep a light and mace on the ready. People forget about mace. But if a would be attacker is unarmed or even has a knife. It can keep distance. People would be surprised if you draw down and down a person with a knife. Depending on the distance you can still be charged. Also carry a TR50 pepper ball riot ball gun under my front seat and walking dog at night. But main is a 43x OEM everything and a .357 Taurus snub on the ankle.
Though for your videos...when you're talking gear it's nice to have the name and brand of what you're talking about written on the screen...just a short pop up. It helps us look stuff up. I'm a edc dork and like to look stuff up as you're talking. Just an idea. Thanks for the videos guys.
You can count on 3 things from me 1: I'ma be up every weekday at 430 am for work.. 2. There's gonna be a Spyderco folder in my left pocket 3. And a 40 caliber xds mod 2 in my right pocket .
We keep things with a our key bc a single key is very easy to loose, if I keep a small keychain flashlight and I few other keys, you have something that’s a lot harder to lose.
Great video!!!! Spot on. This IS the biggest issue, in my mind. How much CAN you carry, ON YOUR PERSON. And that is very subjective. Great overview. Very well thought out and defined, as for suggestions. Love your tool kit(s). Clever. Lock pick stuffs, very handy. Those nonmetallic blades, Thanks for that. One thing that has been haunting me. Again, THANK YOU guys for making these vids. Loads of GREAT info!!!
Great for getting yourself in trouble. Did any of you big kids, stop and think that, those things could be considered, "burglary tools"? Lock picks, nonmetallic daggers, spring coshes? They're called, "Breaking and entering" tools. Any cop would probably arrest you, if they caught you? Knives, are iffy. There was a guy that claimed to be a bounty hunter from New York city, and told me, my pocket knife was too long. I said, well, you're not in New York City. You're in my area, and I carry what I want.
This video is sponsored by Tudor and the Color Purple. Oh gosh, been there and done that with the $2 pairing knife. Had one when I was 18-19ish, no idea who Edsmanifesto was or anything, in a sheath made of newspaper and duct tape when I was living in a pretty crappy area in college. In hindsight it would have been a really bad look if I ever got caught or had to use it, but literally days after I moved in some psycho tried to cut some poor girl's head off in one of the dorms but got the shit kicked out of him by some Joe Rogan types lmao. Stay safe and Merry Christmas yall.
Overseas in Europe I carried the Fiskars stainless steel garden shear in my back pack in place I could quickly access since it was restrictive take a look it worked for me, I also used a Black 3-Ring Binder Pencil Pouch for an IFAK in my bag. It was pretty non descript. Just my exp. for whatever its worth.
Medical shears are also a great option. They can do a lot of the stuff you'd otherwise carry a pocket knife for, but are benign enough that you can carry them onto an airplane.
I enjoy EDC vids and the ideas of EDC, and despite the laws in Australia I always carry a knife as it's a useful tool, however, it's insane to me that I've never really considered how lucky I am to live where I do. When I heard you say "your perception of the threats you might encounter", I've never considered that. I've never once in my life (45yo) thought to myself I need a weapon because I am unsure of the threats I may face in my daily existence. It just never occurred to me. I'm not scared of police shooting me, I'm not scared of another person shooting me, I'm not scared of getting in a fight, I'm not scared of the government. I worry about magpies in spring and if there will be a cold beer when I finish work, and that's pretty much it. I know its complicated for the USA but I'm just glad I've never had to consider a threat greater than an angry bird.
Sounds like paradise but it’s not a possibility for the USA. While many states have already disarmed the populace many many millions upon millions more live in free States. If the Gov’t tried to wholesale confiscate weapons I truly believe it would lead to civil war as crazy as that sounds.
@@asmith7876 Yea we thought the same prior to them doing it here. I like guns, I had several rifles which i gave up during the buy back/amnesty scheme here in Aus because realsistically i had no need for them. I hadnt been hunting in years, i didnt need them to protect me from other people, they were purely recreactional and tbh I didnt have a liscense for them. The big diff i think is the perception of self defense, if someone else has a gun i need a gun to protect myself, but if you get away from pistols and semi auto that just leaves you with fun/recreational weapons. I have friends who still have guns and use them to hunt or target shoot but no one has pistols or semi auto, and while you can do some damage with a bolt action rifle you cant do as much as a 30 round clip semi/full auto and a school full of people. I think if you just left tactical weapons in the hands of propper operators that still leaves a lot to play with, and lets be honest if you think your overthrowing a tyranical govt with your armament just look at every waco or siege vs the govt in the last 30 years. You cant win. So while yea keep guns, maybe just not all of them?

Afghans have been booting armies out of their country for a long time. I wish I could visit Australia, seems like a great place!
I would be curious to know how you carry the non-metallic knives. I work security at a club that does pat downs on people, and I can’t think of a way someone would be able to defeat a pat down and still have easy enough access to the knife.
Most pat downs just brush under the arms and along the beltline. If you wear the non metallic knife on a cord around your neck, it's essentially invisible. Also, it's fairly easy to get metallic knives in through club security. Simply clip it to the waistband behind one's belt buckle, and when the wand detects the blade you can simply show security your metal belt buckle as explanation. Also can work for small pistols if you use a cowboy buckle and a tuckable holster.

@37:30 EMS since 2010. The jump bag is probably 40 lbs of gear that we take to car wrecks. There's a lot of equipment that's burned every call.
dude. our society needs more of this, mindset, perspective, knowledge and tools. thank you.
Never heard of those small EDC tourniquets before, glad I watched this video, very informative
A multi-tool makes a good improvised blunt force object if it's sitting in your pocket in the sheath or on your belt.
Edit: I carry bulk medical for my family. Helping as a bystander would be more of hold direct pressure or use a TQ.
would love your opinions on my EDC videos
Shout out to Bryan and the crew at ITS Tactical. Miss them a lot. Spiritus filled the void for me when they stopped making videos.
Great tips, especially about the flashlight seeing as I live up here in Canada. It's getting real bad up here. Thanks for the video
I carry that in my wallet and nobody thinks twice about it and it won’t get me in trouble as a B&E tool.
same i have a old gift card in my edc and i have a couple in my bug out
I carry a sharpie too, great for writing things on things and if you grab it in fist it can be used as a Kubotan.
A kubaton 🤣😆🤣😆🤣
Fixed blades are not legal for concealed carry in NC. Just fyi Adam. However… Free men don’t ask permission.
"I'm not a knife guy. I'm NOT a knife guy. I carry 2 knives. I'm not a knife guy."
I'm not a knife guy, I bring a blade less box cutter to Manhattan and then put a blade inside of it, I also don't believe in flip knives. 🤡
@@theKashConnoisseur what a completely idiotic comment I had the displeasure to read, bizarre gatekeeping at best or stupidity at worst
@@mad0uche as you only seem capable of being insulting, you'll have to understand that I give your opinions zero merit.
@@theKashConnoisseur Wow now you are starting to understand how the real world works, except your opinion is so fucking stupid people have trouble interpreting what you are actually trying to say - before of course dismissing it as trash.
Would love to see another video from your knife buddy. This series has been great. Love the info, please keep it coming!
Im new to this channel but i love how this fella preaches de-escalation
Enjoying the long videos with lots of info
Snake staff are the same guys behind the Flux defense raider & brace i think
Awesome pro-tip on the Bogota lock picks. I lost my original set that I kept in my wallet. Definitely doing this right now.
A course I'd recommend for this would be Ed Cauldron's counter custody course.
It’s a good course
I carry my Surefire e2d led in my front left pocket, stays to the side and out of the way...
I carry a Ruger lcp Max, and a backripper tomahawk. Definitely going to pick up a surefire stiletto!
Stiletto Pro is better
I carry a snakestaff in one of my sling bags. Seems to be trusted by some people who know their stuff based on looking at how its built.
Love seeing people carrying full size. CZ SP01 (Stream light h1) is my every day carry in California
Thanks for the content, First time stopping by. I will keep checking you peeps out.
A fixed blade (milmak ccw) and a basic Swiss army knife is my favorite blade(s) combination.
What’s the second fixed blade you talked about? Couldn’t make out what brand you said. Thanks!
I got a few of the better brands edc lights and they are all great❤
watching this in the UK: eyebrows raised - we can’t even carry around a screwdriver unless we are a tradesmen 😢
Great vid. Never get sick of ideas for edc

$2 Pairing knife from Walmart ✅ $4000 Staccato P ✅ 😂
How do you think he is able to afford the staccato? Lol

Paring knife would be more useful.
Damn! As silly as I sound I honestly never thought about my car fob THANKS!, now it rides alone it’s that simple but super practical.
Ya packed a lot of info in that one... thank you!
I really enjoyed this video. I hope to see more!
Thanks for the use for the old eye glass cases
The hand leash on the flashlight is a great idea
Though for your videos...when you're talking gear it's nice to have the name and brand of what you're talking about written on the screen...just a short pop up. It helps us look stuff up. I'm a edc dork and like to look stuff up as you're talking. Just an idea. Thanks for the videos guys.

Hey guys, would you consider doing a video tour of your team room?
That gun is amazing that’s a Honda accord in his hand
You can count on 3 things from me
1: I'ma be up every weekday at 430 am for work..
2. There's gonna be a Spyderco folder in my left pocket
3. And a 40 caliber xds mod 2 in my right pocket .
We keep things with a our key bc a single key is very easy to loose, if I keep a small keychain flashlight and I few other keys, you have something that’s a lot harder to lose.
Great video. You should have shown that Tudor Pelagos.
I carry the BK-18 Harpoon as my knife. Its got an awesome ass name~ makes me feel like a pirate!
Did it for the algorithm nice vid good sir
Always carry back up cash. You never know if you’ll need help from an individual or some reason your card is not able to be used.
Stay safe and Merry Christmas yall.
good to see that you are prepped to go down to the local Starbucks 🎉
If I close my eyes I hear Vaughn Gitten Jr hah
These videos are so great.
It’s a Sosby fixed blade. Looks like a “cub” possibly. CC is your friend.
Shoot, thought you would say a can of Alpo! 😎..Thanks for making the video.
Great video. First time seeing you. Subbed/Liked. Thanks.
Apparently TSA forbids the utility blade holders, now.
Won't be able to get into your truck with all this stuff on lol. I love it I'll take 3 of everything.
What about the spiders in Australia you need to defend against those
@@LilDylon haha, they leave you alone as long as you dont bother them. Sure we have the most deadly spiders and snakes in the world but thats it.. we dont have bears, mountain lions, coyotes, and stuff like that. Dogs and magpies are about it really for most of us
@@lobsang666 We live far enough from the city that if I call the police it will be a while. My security is my problem, not the governments. Afghans have been booting armies out of their country for a long time. I wish I could visit Australia, seems like a great place!
nice video Adam. BTW what watch are you wearing in the video?
Thanks for the content Brother.... Stay Safe.
I would be curious to know how you carry the non-metallic knives. I work security at a club that does pat downs on people, and I can’t think of a way someone would be able to defeat a pat down and still have easy enough access to the knife.
The pat downs suck and they never check for bra or boot knives
@@0mfgeeze pat downs dont suck, for some people its the closest thing we gonna get to a hug....and they definitely skip the hot stuff.
@@anotheryoutuber_ lol, I just meant for security purposes, they do very little and most are not thorough
