My good radio friend, Rick W4JIT. tipped me off to you & your videos for which I can't thank him enough!!!!!! I particularly like how you find relatively unknown subjects (at least to me) such as this & end up making me, a technologically challenged individual, understand & able to use same. I already have the app installed on my android tablet & controlling my TGIF 2.4 hotspot & I doubt it's been an hour since I discovered this video! Hats off to you sir!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@@k9wlwradio309 Thanks very much. I figured it out a different way by crossmoding to YSF92805. I tried XLX256E after reading your message. The DSTAR radio connected. I was also listening on the DMR connection to East Coast. I heard traffic on DMR, but nothing on DSTAR XLX256E
@@robertaucoin3860 here is the website explaining all the links. I wonder if the bridge from DStar to the main group is down. www.eastcoastreflector.com/
I am afraid linking to reflectors of all types, gateway linking to DStar repeaters, and unlinking is all that it does. It is very quick, and you can quick tap to your favorite links. That is all it can do.
I use a mobile app on my cell phone called network scanner. Just connect your cellphone to Wi-Fi and it displays the IP address of every device connected to your Wi-Fi including your pi-star hotspot.

Thank you for your kind comments!
Once again Frank, another direct, quick video. Thank you so much.
Thank you! I hope you downloaded the app and enjoy it! I use the tool daily!
@@k9wlwradio309 Sure did, I like the flexibility and speed to move to reflectors. Works great on my Pixel 3a
Another great addition to your most helpful videos. Many thanks for helping so many of us. 73 Dave N3CI
Thank you for your kind words!
Again you the man, Frank! Thanks for sharing. Installing now.
Thank you again for your kind comments!
This is awesome .. thanks!
Thank you! It is so much easier than "keying up endless codes" with the radio or using the pi-star on a browser! Enjoy!
Another great video Frank. This is justin from Friday nights rag chew. I’ve got a couple questions for dmr if u get a chance one day
Hi, Justin! If you like, feel free to contact me at cq2meters@yahoo.com if you would like to arrange a QSO to go over your questions!
roger that
The sides of the video are cut off.
If you watch on a vertically oriented cell or tablet, it will fit the screen properly.
Question: Do you know if there is a way to connect to the East Coast Reflector with an Icom id-D52. I presume that it would be similar for ID-5100
It appears from any DStar hotspot just linking to XLX256E will connect you to the reflector.

Besides linking to reflectors. What else can you do with this application?

@@k9wlwradio309 Personally I love it. So much faster than other ways. Thanks again for this video.
@@z8ty no problem. It's a cool tool!
How do you find the ip address of your hotspot? Also, does the ip address have to be static or can it be dynamic??

Answer to the dynamic or static question. It can be either. I set my pi-star to static, but it is rather tricky to do that.
does it work with the Sharkrf openSpot3?
It does not, unfortunately. Strictly a pi-star thing.
Mine will works for months and then it will not load I have a Iphone. Then after some time it will start working again
I have heard Iphone is kind of glitchy with this app. I definitely love it on Android.
