bs, the fire risk is not only related to the cells the battery use and many cheap bikes come with decent quality cells. There are many more manufacturers with decent cells then just Samsung, and even Samsung cells are not worth anything if you don't pair them with a decent bms. I got EVE cells, Chinese manufacturer, on my 'kit bike' Giant Talon with tsdz2b I put on it myself. If you look them up, they are well regarded for both their LiFePo cells as li-ion. Again, the 'fire hazrard' part of batteries are seldom the cells ( .. unless you get 'refurbished' cells which are not properly mated to each other, which will create imbalance between cells which in turn can cause individual cells to run way out of spec ) but almost always the battery managements system. monitoring the individual cell voltage's, temp sensors to avoid charging under conditions no li-ion cell should be charged and even more importantly -> it's the bms which decides how many amps a pack will deliver down the line. This is what causes fire's while under load for instance ( opposed to a bms which doesn't do individual cell leveling / monitoring during charging ). 'cheap' != fire hazard. And as to being not regulated... lots of folks don't really agree with current ebike laws.. adding to that, you CAN buy e-mtb's from the factory ( name brands ) which aren't restricted but they will come with a 'not road legal, only use on trails' disclaimer. There is open source firmware for the Tongshen I'm using, giving it a 750w limit instead off 250.. But even road legal 250w firmware will pull much more for short duration of times ( like accelerating ). And that's fine, the 250w max limit is a nominal one, not an absolute one. Can't compete with a BBSHD with 1000W, but I rather have mine with torque sensor then a Bafang with just a cadence sensor. I do agree on the scary part, but that's mainly because most cheap embt's you can get use generic big box frame sets and cheap forks which aren't really meant for trail use. I think huge is a bit overstated. Majority of the e-bike fires you see are from people fast charging using bad chargers or damaged batteries. Runaways do happen and it is mainly limited to the cheaper e bikes, but you could simply ensure that their batteries are UL tested instead of banning them as they're still a great way for people to commute and get in to the category
I don't see the point in that 7-speed, usually these are combined with a 2x/3x front derailleur because these cassettes have a rather narrow range (Shimanos cassettes seem to have up to 11-28 and 12-32 which results in just 254-267%) while the modern 1x chainrings with 10-12 speeds have cassettes like 11-43 (around 400%) or even 10-51 (510%, that's about the same as a Rohloff Speedhub). And this one doesn't even have a mid/bottom bracket engine, so why didn't they use a front derailleur? And then with such a large chainring, this seems to have the size of my road bike's larger front chainring (got a Dura-Ace 7800 with 53-39 FSA crankset and 11-25 CS-6700 cassette), recently had a hilly tour and failed at the final climb because it was to steep and the lowest 39-25 gear is still well above a 1:1, such a large front chainring without front derailleur on a "MOUNTAIN" bike is insane.
Honestly, a rigid fork and some risers would turn this thing into a rad little commuter / rat e bike thing (is that a thing?). It's clearly pretty tough so how bad could it be?
It's definitely a commuter or pub bike, the gearing is unsuitable for dirt, the bendy bouncy forks seem to be necessary for marketing but are worse than pointless. My e-bike cost about the same, built a couple of years ago from used eBay parts, new TSDZ2 and no-name battery, but the rigid fork, 1x10 and TSDZ2 are superior to the hub drive and high gearing of the Swifty. I'm surprised there's been no "get schwifty" comments.
Mate, that Canyon costs about three times what I paid for a fully functional 750cc sports bike 🤣. My advice: get a motorcycle if you want to get around easy. Mine is a Suzuki gsxr from yr 2000 and they're pretty cheap to run and maintain 🙂

Anything like a Rock shox 35 or Recon should be the suitable fork as standard on the ebikes for the kinda more expensive better one's eh! Yeah I thought the hard tail might be faster on the pump track, Ha ha ha yeah, explain it to Lewie and everyone else and then do what you want and then say well you could have just done that, I didn't say you had to stay on the track. No but you didn't expressly say you could go off track either, in fact I thing the word follow the track down to the Olympic rings were mentioned.
Yeah, good that you didn't completely give'er with the Swifty on that staircase of doom. The brakes already disappointed you earlier and there was traffic at the bottom...

They replaced it and took it back straight away so that was fair but these ebikes with preload elastomer shocks just should be allowed! Anything like a Rock shox 35 or Recon should be the suitable fork as standard on the ebikes for the kinda more expensive better one's eh!
The warning ⚠️ on forks says don't jump ect but it was more a mud mound you would find on any trail they packed down and stayed down! Lol but does say For the warning ⚠️ IT IS ALL MOUNTAIN AND CROSS COUNTRY! It failed at this within 30mins in the cross country trail!
Outside Leigh-on-sea station?
Sam has nailed it again. Hats off!
That canyon is ridiculous I love it.
where was this filmed
Yeah I thought the hard tail might be faster on the pump track, Ha ha ha yeah, explain it to Lewie and everyone else and then do what you want and then say well you could have just done that, I didn't say you had to stay on the track. No but you didn't expressly say you could go off track either, in fact I thing the word follow the track down to the Olympic rings were mentioned.
Brilliant Sam. What a great idea for a vid.
Are more pilgrips coming back in stock? In need of a set in red and black for my fatty.
We've all had a swifty at some point, go the swifty 🤟✨
Cheers to you 🤟🎶
Man love the vids ur the reason why i started mtb thanks for all the good vids
AAAmazing video like always!! keep going like this
Doubling those stairs on the Canyon was insane😳 so horrifying mate
You should have taken the reflectors off the Swifty, that would have made it lighter and faster! 👌🤣
Yessss here for the upload 🤘
Your videos are funny mate only looked for a review for a bike im getting now all the popping up😂
Haha somehow this didn’t feel fair at all. However you did a great execution and it just came to show which bike was better!
Man that is an absolute weapon! Your canyon isn't yo bad either
It’s hilarious how everyone thinks the beep is real til they see the original 😂😂😂😭
The swifty won the drifting challenge for smiles per £.
Many dream of a bike like your but could never get one
how sick would a t-shirt design with mud spots like Sam had for most of the video be? 😍
is this danbury commons?
Yeah, good that you didn't completely give'er with the Swifty on that staircase of doom. The brakes already disappointed you earlier and there was traffic at the bottom...
