lol I noticed that too ... Lotta guys my age criticize these kids for being lazy, but at least in my own little world that's not what I see. Cody is a perfect example (and excellent choice is recipient).
Cody seems like a hardworking young man. And the kid saving his money is awesome. I ran into a young kid at my local trails who had saved his lawn mowing money and bought a Polygon Sisku. I told his dad he had a real great kid! Enjoy!
Flip bike is by far the best thing I've ever seen, I can't get enough.I learn so much, more than any other "how to" tutorials. AND, it's super entertaining. Please do more!
I loved Cody and his reaction. That young man knows how hard it is to earn a dollar and the value of that dollar and him having pride in buying his own things...that just made all the difference. Thanks Seth for helping this young man out. Not saying anything against the other boy...but the gratitude was clearly visible on Cody.
I belong to a bike Co-op that gives away bikes to anyone 16 and under and teaches the rest how to set up and fix their bike at reduced costs. I pick up nice used bikes in the suburbs and donate them to the co-op on the weekends. The smile of joy and freedom on the children's faces is priceless. It is also a great to pick up parts for repairs and upgrades. Keep up the good work.
I'm from Bulgaria, love your videos, learn a lot from it, I'm trying to do good wherever possible, but gestures like that melt my heart. I wish you all the best, Seth!
Cody restored my faith in humanity and young people in general. If you have teenage kids show them this video. If nothing else it will plant that seed in their brains that doing the right thing is the right thing.
I can appreciate your motivation, Seth. I gave bikes to my best employees when they were leaving (for positive reasons like graduate school, marriage, etc.), and it was worth the look on their faces when they found them at their desks! I'm retired now, but Cody and Blaine remind me of those gems, the rare truly deserving ones. Keep up the good work!
You're a good man, Seth. Passing it on is what more of this world needs. More Cody's and Lane's. Now both of these fine youngsters have capable bikes and money in their pockets to buy proper safety gear to enjoy those bikes. I'd both of their parents raised them right. Earn it.
I like this. We need more kids doing their own maintenance. My dad used to get upset, opening the garage door when he wanted to park his truck, me not realizing it was already 6pm+ while my BMX bike was in pieces on rainy evenings in Oregon. Being able to take something apart and build it back up cleaner, better, faster; is a skill you can carry throughout your life. Not just with bikes.
You're a good man, Seth. I started watching your videos some years ago (your channel had a different name back then) and among the first videos was when you did up a bike and gave it away to a boy about 12 who spent his spare time doing up bikes in a charity workshop. They'd put bikes together into rideable shape and give them to those who couldn't afford to buy one. I can even remember his reaction when he took the bike out of the box. He just stood there with his mouth open, pointed to himself, and managed to say, 'Words aren't working'. It was your kindness that got me to subscribe. Your kindness continues.
This is why I love you Seth! You are doing the work that all humans with that capabilities should be doing. Thank you for being a good human. And Cody and Blaine were so deserving. I raised my son like them. We need more hardworking and deserving young kids. Heartwarming all around.
This has to be the best bike video I have ever seen. So emotional. In today's environment, where it seems the majority feels they should get everything for little or nothing. To do this, Mr. Alvo is nothing short of spectacular. I will think often of what you did for these deserving young men with great pleasure. Also, a shout-out to the parents of these young men, who brought them up right. You, sir, are the salt of the earth, anyone calling you a friend has something worth more than gold and silver. I wish you nothing but the best. Billy
Cody's a good guy. On the plus side, he's got plenty of cash on hand to get all the tools he needs and maybe even a tailgate cover! Always appreciate what you do for the community, Seth.
You ought to let Cody come out and “pay you back” by helping with some trail work. Maybe not at Berm Peak. But that would a great way to get that young man even more into the sport.
I gotta say, Seth, that when a 13yo boy and a 55yo man (me) and all ages in between can learn from your content, you're doing something right. And great on you and both Cody and Lane.
I was inspired by your videos on putting these bikes together as well as your flip bike episodes to take up bike maintenance and modding as a hobby. Awesome thing you did for these kids!! We need more people like Cody, but we also need more people like you Seth. You rock!
You are truly a mountain bike angel lol like what an amazing gift for you to give these bikes away to these young bikers getting into the sport. And not just the base bikes but upgraded so that they can actually go out and have some fun.
Major props to you, Seth. Best thing I learned from your channel is that you don’t need to have everything under the sun to make a bike work. I have a hardtail that I’ve beaten, abused, butchered, and hacked all sorts of upgrades over the last 4 years. I finally got a new bike, so I’ll be retiring my hardtail within the next year or two. I’ll probably do something like this.
Looks like I picked the rt. video to decide to subscribe too...first saw you the other day with Sept.30,2024 video and I very much liked how you checked on your elderly neighbor at the bottom of the hill...you are very useful with all that you know and you know alot, you are a true man! A man many should have...I look forward to getting to know you... can't wait to be given the time to watch again..love del
I recently gotten back into biking, I have an old mountain bike I used for commuting to and from college, but over the past few years i had collected dust and rust, as i wasn't good at maintaining it. Thanks to these videos I have learned a lot about maintaining and repairing my old bike, Took me a couple of weeks and a few new parts, but I finally got it working to a point that it again can take me to and from work, as well as riding the local trails. Still got some work to do on it to get it into top shape, but it has been a great project to tinker with during my free time! Thank you for making these amazing videos and I hope you keep up the good work!
Good man! I've been searching local landfills and salvage yard s just to find some something, I need a bike for general transportation to and from work and soon tech school. After a motorcycle accident I lost everything from the recovery time and I'm just getting back on my feet, but man, we need more people like you, willing to help others just out of kindness, not out of profit! Please stay true and maybe more people will catch on! Spread the love!
You're a good man Seth! And you managed to find two very deserving, hard working, gracious and thankful young men. Great video. Can't wait for the next one!
I know it doesn’t need to be said but I’m going to say it anyway. Never change Seth! So cool to see your generosity have a large impact on the community around you. You’re the man!
I love it, Seth! Seeing people do good for others is in short supply. I think it happens more than we know but seeing those kids' faces is just awesome. Makes folks want to pay it forward as it should!
Today's my birthday so I'm considering all of these (including the video) as presents. Thank you, Seth for making me smile and helping get my week started off on the happy side.
You are a great person! I hope Cody pays it forward! What a great young adult! And, that Lane is a great kid too! They both worked hard to save to buy these bikes. I hope Lane pays it forward also.
yooooooo fire video! its been a long time since ive watched your channel. I was like 11 or 12 when I first saw it. Im living the mtb dream, I got my first *good* mtb last summer, im on a really fun mtb team, and I just got my first GoPro to document my rides! UA-camrs like you, singletracksampler, and a ton of others have inspired me ever since I saw my first mtb video. Tanks so much man!
As a near 60 year old FloridaCarolinian who loves mountain biking, I want to be Seth when I grow up! Heck of a great thing to do Seth. I’m sure those boys will learn from your kindness…even though they already seem like great kids!
Seth you're definitely the king and the father of the mtb community, thank you for many years of joy and experience and everything you do for all of us, much appreciated. looking forward for many more
I really enjoyed this episode of your channel Seth. Seeing the looks on the new owners of those two bikes really was uplifting. You are a top man Seth. Thanks.
It's really great you gave the bikes to young guys that have a positive work ethic and know you have to put in time to earn things. I think the guys will remember this for the rest of their lives and will give back to others.
These two bikes were some of my favorite videos on Berm Peak. It brought me back to the google old days when Seth was riding mongoose bikes into the ocean. Hoping we see more videos like these in the future!
Awesome! Good for you Seth, I've never given away any bikes but I've got a decent parts bin and I've given away or sold ultra cheap to people to help them out. I like to pay it forward, I'm pretty lucky to be where I'm at in life and it feels good to give back.
Great video. Both are deserving individuals. You can tell it pained Cody to take what he considered to be charity. And Lane worked hard to save money to buy his own bike. Well done everyone.
Man, I love what you did here. I appreciate all the videos and your channel is by far my favorite MTB channel. I have learned most of what I know about mtb's from it being pretty new to them. I picked up used bikes for my family and learning from your vids as well as some ithers I have fixed most of the small problems and even just done my first major upgrade to a 1x11 deore m5100 drivetrain to a bike that originally had a 3x7 setup
So cool... I dont know if it was Cody but two younger kids who looked like that in my mind were riding at Rocky Knob yesterday they seemed stoked and was so nice to see the youth fired up !!
Thank you for giving back to some deserving young folks. It would be interesting to hear from them in 6 months or a year to see where the bikes have taken them.
The money you saved Cody he can spend on some proper gear or tools. Great job Seth! I’m a new viewer, but your channel is quickly becoming my favorite on UA-cam. Thanks for everything you do, man.
Such a wonderful thing to do. And I know it gave you joy to do this.I used to live in AVL. I moved to Colorado in 2014. Lot's of memories of Pisgah and Dupont.
Cutting lawns is how I bought my first bike as well, a Trek 4900 from Criterium in 2003. I rode that thing into the ground and rebuilt it for a coworkers kid :)
I got tears in my eyes when Cody refused to take it for free. I wish good things will come his way. Thank you Seth for making it right for these young dudes. Love from Turkey! 🤝
I was that boy who saved money for his bike from yard work 30 years ago 😁. I got a used bianchi ocelot mountain bike. I thought it was the stuff. I still have it to this day. Love you videos. Thank you!
Cody.... walking, and now riding life, on the good path. Keep your morals true and you'll win at life, young man. Welcome to the MTB family. Lane.... You are the future of this sport. Us old dogs feel good knowing groms like you are taking over. Seth.... As always.... Showing how community is done right. You continue to be an amazing ambassador of the MTB lifestyle. We are all better for it.
Could had "sold" the Ozark a few weeks ago, but we'll let it pass since the kid would be the better choice lol. I just literally started getting into the hobby and found your videos and others about the Ozark being a budget friendly entry bike, so i just got mine last week new. Took it to the trails the next day and noticed huge squeeling noises from the brakes. Come to find out that meant contamination. Tried cleaning the disc but that didnt completely get rid of it, now i gotta figure the brake pads. Had a hard time with the brake system the first day i got it since it wasnt align right, and i started unbolting things to figure the thing out & unknowingly unbolted some wrong screws - so I'm a little hesistant taking the brakes apart and figuring the pads. Everywhere seems to show it having a pin somewhere there, but i dont recall seeing it. Thought about returning it and repurchasing the bike hoping for a better assemblement and no contamination but god damn, i just rode it a few mins ago and i love it. Probably cant wait (seems to be a lack of stock around my area, will have to order online), will possibly have to go through figuring the pads out and cleaning it as some youtube vids suggest. That or see if i can get find and buy new pads and switch them out resolving the issue. Anyways love the videos, keep them coming. I've been watching you and some other - will be hoping to learn alot from you all who's been further into the hobby.
@CamUK_ yeah I just got my nephew to get into the hobby with me as well as a way to stay active. When I first got the bike, took him to the trails and he rode a friend's bike. The next day he purchased the same bike (Ozark Trail) and his also squeal and squeaks. Mine was much worst but after cleaning both the disc the first time around, it's squealing and squeaking about the same as his. When i first had it - that thing sounded like it was hitting metal to metal. Like a train was coming thru. Possibly a Walmart thing. I just didn't see anyone mentioning this about the Ozark Trail ahead of time.
We need more Cody’s in the world. That young man was raised right. Sweet gifts Seth. Why you’re one of my favorite Mtn bike channels.
I felt bad for Cody. Dude genuinely wanted to put some skin in the game. Seth should have let him pay at least $100.
I think they aren't gifts in as much as investments in future MTB stewardship.
What we really need is more Cody's parents in this world
respectfully, Cody has similar vibes/mannerisms to sheldon's brother from young sheldon. 😇
Agreed 💯!!!
honestly the smirk on Cody's buddies face when Seth said he would drive away he knew Cody didn't have the heart to take anything for free
lol I noticed that too ... Lotta guys my age criticize these kids for being lazy, but at least in my own little world that's not what I see. Cody is a perfect example (and excellent choice is recipient).
Cody is a good example of "the ideal person"
This is the kind of content that makes seth the best! He gives back so much to the community
And for the views 😅
@@kris8165which is the reason he has the ability to give things away for free? Always some with y’all
Both kids were very deserving of the bikes! This is why I watch Berm Peak
Cody seems like a hardworking young man. And the kid saving his money is awesome. I ran into a young kid at my local trails who had saved his lawn mowing money and bought a Polygon Sisku. I told his dad he had a real great kid! Enjoy!

Thanks Seth for helping this young man out. Not saying anything against the other boy...but the gratitude was clearly visible on Cody.
Hey Seth this is Daniel so happy to see you helping others just like you helped us out God bless you and your family
Cody is a stand up dude💯
I appreciate it
scaming the buyers by refusing payment.. best kind of scamming 😂
@Juann-ci5vh That's the joke

That’s the spirit of mtb, good people helping each other out. Keep up with the projects Seth, I’ve learnt a lot from watching your vids.

A real tear jerker. Helping and making others dreams come true. Thank you

Any money spent on a helmet is always money well spent!!
Those kids will talking about this forever! 🙌🏽 you gatta a big heart man.
Both of these hard working, respectful young men are very refreshing to see in today's times, and I am glad that these bikes went to them.
I like this. We need more kids doing their own maintenance.
My dad used to get upset, opening the garage door when he wanted to park his truck, me not realizing it was already 6pm+ while my BMX bike was in pieces on rainy evenings in Oregon.

Not just with bikes.
You are a gem Seth - I’ve got 2 bikes of my own to unload and I am going to follow your lead on them!
You're a good man, Seth. Dang Seth! You got me all choked up. Keep doing you, man. You rock. God bless ya’ll.
You keep reminding me of why I love this channel! Keep being awesome Seth!
Shout out to Cody, that's an awesome attitude. He's going places!
Yeah, into the woods on a bike.
This has to be the best bike video I have ever seen. So emotional. In today's environment, where it seems the majority feels they should get everything for little or nothing. You’re the man bro and I appreciate your content. Thanks for helping the mountain bike community in so many ways. You made those kids entire year!
I have a feeling those two bikes will last forever through the wonderful care and protection of both these young men. Good job Mr Berm Peak.
You are truly a mountain bike angel lol like what an amazing gift for you to give these bikes away to these young bikers getting into the sport. And not just the base bikes but upgraded so that they can actually go out and have some fun.

Saw the same thing, lol 🤣
Beat me to it!

you're a good dude. when I ran a skate shop I gave away so much gear, there's nothing like providing someone with what they need

Didn’t expect to be so touched by this vid… ur a great dude Seth.
Seth, absolutely awesome thing to do! Thanks for what you do. I always love watching you make the world a better place. Ride on!
Great couple of kids. Thank you Seth for giving the bikes and giving us great & uplifting content.
yooooooo fire video! its been a long time since ive watched your channel. I was like 11 or 12 when I first saw it. This was too sweet. You set the right kind of example in this community, man
You sir are a true honor to watch which is why your channel is one that I don't mind my kids ages 6,7,8,11,14 to watch. Always good clean content.
Thanks.
Great job Seth! An act of kindness like this will go a long way and I’m sure produce much fruit in the future.
Well deserved! Hard-working young men getting a break 🎉
Love these videos. This is what keeps the sport going for the next generations! Thank you for continuing to be an ambassador for the sport.
3:40 I hope you straightened out that handleball!
Glad you found good matches for both!
I watch most of your stuff Seth but rarely comment... just want to acknowledge how heartwarming this is and it's proper top notch! Good on ya! Cheers
I bought my Ridge based on Seth's video last summer, and I'm super with it.
It's good to see the Trouville and Ridge go to good homes.
Cody is a man with solid character. For sure has the right attitude to do very well at whatever he wants to in life.
Cody is a really great guy! You should ride with him and teach him the ropes and make videos. Love that you did this❤
It's really great you gave the bikes to young guys that have a positive work ethic and know you have to put in time to earn things. I think the guys will remember this for the rest of their lives and will give back to others.
Faith in humanity restored, both from your generosity, and the work ethic of the new owners 🙂
what a bloody good kid. Cody's a legend.
Both of these lads have a bright future. Thank you for doing this, Seth, and for sharing it with us!
I love it! Those two youngsters are great kids. Honor hard work and resourcefulness.
Love seeing new riders and ones that have a heart of gold to earn what they have worked for. Not much of them but they are around. Way to go Seth
These two bikes were some of my favorite videos on Berm Peak. It brought me back to the google old days when Seth was riding mongoose bikes into the ocean. Hoping we see more videos like these in the future!
Great stuff, Seth. Seriously top notch. The pay it forward mentality of the MTB world is just one of the many reasons I love it. Cheers.

It’s always nice to see the Cody’s of the world. It’s easier to focus on the bad stuff, but there are Cody’s all over the place.
This was so cool of you. We definitely need more Seths in this world
Oscar is always a bonus in your videos! He cracks me up! Good job on paying it forward for these two young men.
That was cool. You found the perfect people to give these bikes to. Class act. Love it.
Good job Seth, that was a super nice thing to do. Watching your videos got me back into mtb after 20years of not riding. Keep up the great videos!
Bummer knowing the bikes won't be in anymore videos but Seth always does right. They'll go to great homes. Great stuff💪
The money you saved Cody he can spend on some proper gear or tools. Great job Seth! I’m a new viewer, but your channel is quickly becoming my favorite on UA-cam. Thanks for everything you do, man.

Love everything about this. You are generous and you rep the bike community in the best way!
I was that boy who saved money for his bike from yard work 30 years ago 😁. I got a used bianchi ocelot mountain bike. I thought it was the stuff. I still have it to this day. Love you videos. Thank you!
You found some great boys that deserved your generosity! Well done Seth!
What a way to give to the ones who truly understand biking and need it keep it up and the next generation of bikers.
Hey, I enjoyed this video a lot. I like what you have done for the kids. We need more people like you in this world. Keep up the good job 💯
Kudos to you for such a great idea. We need more people like you in our world today!
Ur a genuine good man! Doing stuff for kids is always the win!
Damn, videos like these. They remind me why I subscribed to this channel. I just got my first 200km on my bike, which I bought thanks to your videos.
Seth, you are a class act my man! Thank you for your content, and being a great example to others.
HE🏒🏒 YES! Cody is the man, nice job Seth! What you did for both those kids was a selfless act of kindness and you just hooked 2 bikers for life!!,
Cody.... walking, and now riding life, on the good path. Keep your morals true and you'll win at life, young man. Welcome to the MTB family.
Lane.... You are the future of this sport. Us old dogs feel good knowing groms like you are taking over.

Yeah I’ve got the same problem here no matter how much I clean my breaks they end up squeaking again
