FIRST TIME WATCHING Spider-Man Far From Home was just a brilliant movie, and Jake Gyllenhaal played such a terrific villain. They did a great job of making me think he was going to be the hero. I love how the Marvel Cinematic Universe creates these wonderfully nuanced antagonists and I really hope this is not the last we have seen of Mysterio in the MCU!

A surprise to be sure, but a welcome one.
Ah, men of class I see.
They actually proved that Beck was unstable through a very subtle manner. During the "flashback" scene where Tony named his work "BARF", you can see the crowd laughing at Tony's name. However, if you go back and replay that scene during Civil War, nobody laughed, and Tony quickly says the name was awful and wasn't serious about it, yet Beck believes he was, proving he really is unstable and misremembered his own past.
Peter with the glasses on should have been able to see who Beck really is, especially because he was an ex-Stark employee (and that's not his real name).
@@maximillianosaben Im sure a team full of ex top stark employees was able to wipe Quentin Beck from their database. And even if they didnt, Quentin is talking about being from a different universe so seeing that Quentin was a Stark employee in this universe proves literally nothing
@@Serryy - Quentin was not actually from a different universe. If Stark-tech couldn't identify is own ex-employee, then we should all be questioning Stark-tech.
@@maximillianosaben If there are parallel universes, there are multiple Quentin Becks. They would look the same. Stark Tech could identify him if he wasnt wiped from their database and again, it would prove nothing.

Seen this movie many times. The whole time all I could think was, "Wow, she looks really comfy in that chair"

The audience reaction in the theater when Mysterio tells Peter that if he tried harder, maybe Tony would still be alive... Man, everybody hated him in that moment haha
He also tells him What do YOU want Peter?
Like being a hero is being selfless. It's not about YOU. Never believed him for a second. I know him from the spiderman cartoons.

That Mysterio illusion sequence......I was speechless. I'm sure this isn't the end of Mysterio.
Yeah, especially since Peter only asked EDITH "is this real?" and she confirmed it wasn't an illusion...he never asked about vitals. Plus, Mysterio didnt have time in the heat of battle to actually record that video, so it had to have been done afterwards. Hopefully if and when they bring the Sinister Six together, the Tinkerer outfits Mysterio with a new suit so he can actually fly about and project illusions from his suit rather than having to rely on the drones.
@@georgercop It would be jaw dropping if he appeared in Spider Man: No Way Home. After just finishing WandaVision which is suppose to tie into Multiverse of Madness and to some extent No Way Home (rumor). It only makes sense that the Master of Illusions would show up. But I think they're going to continue introducing us to a new Spidey foe.
Watch the scene carefully. The illusion Mysterio was shot and lying on the ground. The real Mysterio was invisible. After Spiderman grabbed his gun the invisibility illusion went away and he fell to the ground and "died". Unlike the illusion Mysterio we never saw him take a bullet.
Yeah, I was thinking about how Peter had already given Mysterio full ownership of EDITH, so Peter couldn't have given EDITH orders anymore at the end of the movie. Thus, EDITH could have been lying to Peter as she followed pre-determined commands from Mysterio. Well, that's my theory anyway d:

Just wait. This was prophetic.
It was subtle, but when Peter ran out of spider webs during the big battle on Tower Bridge, he reverted to a shield and hammer.
I love it when Jake goes full “Nightcrawler” in the last act of the movie.

I wish they gone with him evil from the start as all spiderman fans knew he is evil, there was never a surprise for us, we were just waiting and looking at the time for when the reveal would come....
That is like making a movie where we see Joker pretending to be good, just to be shocked when it turns out he is evil.....

This the first time Mysterio has ever been seen in the movies. I haven't read the comics....so it was a complete surprise to me.

That reveal at the end credits scene.... One of the (many) things I love about Marvel is the little touches that tend to be sprinkled throughout. In this case, first time through, you think Fury is (rightly, let’s be fair) putting Carol on a bit of a pedestal as, well, she’s the only hero he’s met that hasn’t screwed up by this point. But no, turns out it’s Talos needing an immediate underwear change at the thought of having to admit to Captain Marvel he does not, in fact have this under control. Both work beautifully and neither get in the way of the main story, top stuff!
I love the tiny clue - when "fury" says to Peter "not YOUR earth"... because if he was human, he would have said "not OUR earth"

@@Dj-pl7cy The real Nick Fury wasnt on Earth, he was in Space leading some sort of organisation or something. If I remember it was a faction of S.W.O.R.D(the organisation we see in WandaVision)(also funny that we have S.H.I.E.L.D and S.W.O.R.D). He had Talos(the Skrull, the green shapeshifting alien) replace him on Earth to take care of his duties on ground.

I saw this movie in 3D in theaters. The Mysterio Illusion scene was probably one of the coolest things I've ever seen.
Such a enjoyable movie. This is my favorite of all the Spider-Man movies. Tom Holland is the perfect combo of awkward humor and heroism. It had a little bit of everything, humor, charm, excitement, warmth and a lot more.
Bonus nerd info: S. Ditko from the dedication is Steve Ditko. He co-created Spider-Man with Stan Lee. Sadly neither was alive to see this perfect Spider-Man movie.
Everyone in the theater at my town were laughed when they saw that opening, and so do i. But i appreciate your reaction, that's so heartwarming...
Cool reaction. I'm with you on this, one of my favorite Spider-Man movies. Even though I knew Mysterio was a villain, I kept wondering if he was going to start good and go bad or he was initially bad and was implementing a plan. It was a nice reveal.

Great reaction. I like that you were in the dark about Mysterio being the villain until the reveal. In the comics, Mysterio is a special effects designer (and accomplished movie stuntman) turned techno-criminal. He was not working for Tony Stark in any way, but his plan was similar to this movie. In his first intro story - He tried to make himself look like the hero to the world while framing Spider-Man as the villain.
Time-wise, we see SWORD from WandaVision taking place right after Endgame. However, release date-wise seeing the real Nick Fury out in space building a space station with the Skrulls gave Marvel fans the first reveal that SWORD was going to be in the MCU.
Mr. beck is from Earth... "Not Yours"..
fun fact: Mysterio says he is from Earth-833 that's the earth where Spiderman U.K. is from in comics
One of the few detriments to reading comic books my whole life, was that I was just sitting there waiting for the Mysterio turn. I'm still actually quite shocked at how many people were surprised. Must admit I envy them 😁

The little bald guy is the kid from A Christmas Story and the Producer of Iron Man.
And he's not even really bald! Apparently he looked so young they decided to age him by shaving his head!
This film is the perfect after-dinner confection following the heavy feast of "Endgame".
It maintains the John Hughes tone of "Homecoming" while seamlessly integrating the existential disorientation of the Blip.
Every comic reader knew Mysterio as a prominent member of Spidey's rogues' gallery and were waiting for the shoe to drop but director Watts kept the pretense up long enough that those in the know began to suspect Feige had changed things up as he had done with the Skrulls in "Captain Marvel" in order to use Gyllenhaal to introduce the concept of a multiverse! The resulting uncertainty made the reveal a surprise even for the comic savvy. Too bad because Quentin Beck was rockin' those EDITH shades!The illusion sequence when Mysterio bested Spider-Man was extraordinarily well done and felt like it was RIPPED FROM THE COMICS! I loved the different levels of unreality; it kept you foundering for purchase on something tangible!
I really like Zendaya as MJ and I liked how she guessed Peter's secret life just like she did in the comics.
The clueless teachers, Ned and Betty's fling, and the irony of Flash's loyalty to Spidey paired with his denigration of Peter were hysterical!
Tony Stark looms large in a movie RDJ isn't even in but his snarky humor and trust in Peter conveyed through his tech and Happy provide some big laughs and poignant scenes.
No matter the universe, J.K. Simmons will ALWAYS be J. Jonah Jameson! The era of Spider-Man as a menace has begun!
The skyscraper whose atrium Peter swung MJ through was the first glimpse we get of THE BAXTER BUILDING! The promotional signage at street level reads "1-->2-->3-->4"!

Yeah I’ve noticed that when I watch it with casual fans they love it so much more because of the twist so sometimes when I watch it I pretend that I don’t know he’s a bad guy.

I read comics since the 80's, and i'm happy how they adapted Mysterio illusions to modern technology without changing the character, before was illusionist tricks with no explanation. Then he was a special effects technician and stunt double turned villain. Great reaction Kazzy as always, greetings from Spain

Anyone else how when nick fury introduces mysterio to Peter he said, "he's from earth just not yours" like why did he say yours instead of ours? Does that mean Nick fury is also from another earth?

I love this movie as specially the part where Peter told Jappy they have to talk about what is going on with aunt May and how he sits them both down for a 'talk' that was hillarious by the way Zandaya and Tom are both a couple in real life too...classic on screen cemestry causing it to be off screen love as well. This one sets the tone for the newest movie and I love that one too. I knew Beck would be evil because Mysterio is one of Peter's enemies in the Spiderman cartoon that I watched when I was younger but it's interesting to see a real life adaptation of him none the less.
I’ve never seen a person like this watch a movie. You react to EVERYTHING. You fall for every gag, you’re sad exactly when they want you to be, you cry IMMEDIATELY. i’ve never seen someone who’s emotions are so transparent. You seem really sweet but also like you fall easily into scams lol.

Mysterio is one of the original Spider-Man villains Stan Lee and Steve Ditko created together. In the original comics he was a movie FX artist turned villain, who used his talent to pose as a hero, framing Spider-Man. If or when Sony decides to do a Sinister Six movie, Mysterio was part of the original group of supervillains, along with Doc Ock and Vulture, teaming to take down Spider-Man. Movie writer and director Kevin Smith wrote a a Spider-Man comic book telling the story of Mysterio creating his final large scale illusion to defeat Spider-Man, as Mysterio is dying to cancer. The story is very reminiscent of Kraven's Last Hunt, a story by writer J. M. deMatteis, of superhero hunting supervillain Kraven The Hunter preparing for his death, after intricate scheming trying to first defeat Spider-Man.

Entertaining as always Kazzy! I'm not sure how they will sort this out, although everybody knew who Iron Man was and it didn't seem to cause him a problem! Getting over Spiderman being 'evil' might be the bigger problem. It may involve the Multiverse and if it does I hope they keep things simple. If not, and the writers try to be clever with the storyline, nobody will know where the heck everybody is and if people loose track of what is happening they start getting bored. We shall see.
It's a testament to how likeable Jake Gyllenhaal can be when I was watching this movie, although I grew up with Spider-Man the animated series where Mysterio is one of the recurring main villains, I was hoping against hope that they'd redesigned Mysterio to actually be a protagonist. I wanted him to be Peter's friend so bad it was funny.

Jon Watts the director of ( Spider-Man Homecoming & Far From Home) just made a title for the sequel it's called: Spider-Man No way Home & he will direct his first Fantastic Four movie. Also Stan Lee's favorite Superhero of all time is: Spider-Man
I do hope they pull a "Spider-Man" for FF and skip the origin story. Like Spider-Man, it's the third reboot. We don't need that anymore.

Now you have to go back and think about how many movies is nick fury really in... in captain marvel fury revealed that he can't eat his sandwiches cut on an angle, but when they're at hawkeyes farm he's eating a diagonally cut piece of toast in age of ultron... you should check out easter eggs for all the marvel movies... you're missing alot of references that are subtly placed in the background. Like the surf board comment, silver surfer uses a board and Galactus is rumored to be the next mcu villain like thanos was... great video

Us Olde Farte collectors knew Mysterio would be a villain, since he was one in the comics. Back then he was a Hollywood FX expert who used illusion to fool people. They upgraded his background & abilities nicely. I'm also happy they gave Peter his web shooters. That's one of the few criticisms I have of the first two Toby films.
...After a certain point I'm happy to ignore the plot holes & enjoy the movie. Zendaya & Peter are so 16 in their awkwardness.

This takes place about 7-8 months after WandaVision I’m pretty sure
Too many of us familiar with the comics knew going in that Mysterio is a bad guy.
While in other circumstances it would be a case of waiting for him to put on the helmet (a term coined from SW episode 3 where people were waiting for the moment where Anakin became Darth Vader), in this movie, most of us weren't bothered with that knowledge but were just curious how he was pulling it off.
