@@saberfightguys I have a Spider-Man tattoo. I'm not disrespecting anyone, but especially not SM. The theme of the movie is Peter coping with the idea of becoming the "new Iron Man" and dealing with that burden. So yes, in this case, he's in a movie dealing with being Iron Man's replacement.
Also noted that Happy played the same song that was playing when Stark was in the Humvee at the start of Iron Man 1. A nice little bookend for the start and end of the saga.

I actually really like the fact that they had Peter slowly figure out his spider sense. In Homecoming he had several moments of precognition that just happened naturally, so naturally that he didn't even notice at first until Infinity War when his hairs stood up.
The original Spider-Man from the comic were only 14 when he start being Spider-Man, so i dont think Tom's performance was too childish , if anything it gave him more space for character development
Problem is that development doesn’t really happen. It made sense for him to be inexperienced in Homecoming. But by FFH he’s been Spider-Man for several years, yet he still acts like it’s his first day.
@@Kabaji He was Spider-Man for almost a year before Civil War (2016). IW happens in 2018. By IW, he’s been Spider-Man for nearly THREE YEARS. Please please please! Show Jen 'Marvel Celebrates the Movies'!! It would be cool to see Jen's reactions to the other Spider-Man movies as well as Venom.
I think this movie coming after Endgame was necessary - watching this in cinemas, the little touches and moments that show Tony's international legacy and his impact on Peter's life were so bittersweet because Endgame was SO fresh in my mind. Obviously it would have hurt my lil heart at any time but so soon after seeing Tony's arc in Endgame, looking at Peter's photograph and having that really spur him on to look into the science behind Scott Lang's idea... man this whole movie just got me good with the Peter and Tony (and Happy
I was SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO waiting for this watch I knew Jen was finally going to break and shed some tears. The way they built the emotional connection between the viewers and the characters was amazing. I still get emotional watching these movies. Well done you two. Well done...
"Ik wilde het net typen! ;-)" / I was just gonna post it ;-). Holden highlighted 2 provinces. I hope I'm remembering it right, but he (Tom) actually is in Zuid-Scharwoude or Langedijk in North Holland.
This movie is like an epilogue to the Infinity Saga, the Tony Stark saga, and just like in the books - some epilogues have elements of prologue hinting for another follow up in the future being a possibility, and here the same - Spidey's identity being revealed mirrors Tony coming out on his own in Iron Man 1, but unlike Tony Peter is forced to do it.
Given the context that the shows and stuff all take place before this movie really puts Quentin's story about the multiverse in perspective. He likely chose the mystical asthetic because of Wanda's actions, and maybe some stories about what's happened with the multiverse from Loki are probably making the rounds giving his guy the inspiration for his "warrior from another earth" story.
They do Mysterio the best they can. He's such a dumb villain with a great hook. I also feel like all of the Spider-Man actors have done something better than the others. This one I sort of view more as like an Ultimate Spider-Man sort of amalgamation.
Definitely curious to see what ya'll thought about this movie. Tom is honestly my favorite Spider-man (but I still love the other two portrayals) and this was my favorite one yet!
I also love tom holland and think he is the best spider man, but IMO this is the second best spider man movie. Spider man 2 is still a little better imo
My theory is that Uncle Ben in the MCU will be Owen Wilson’s Mobius. And that his nexus event was that he didn’t die, never inspiring Peter to become Spider-Man
I always cringe when you get to MCU Spider-Man movies because everyone always shits on them. I just have so much fun with the MCU Spider-Man movies. I think Tom pulls off being Peter Parker so well!! I do agree though he pulls off the Peter Parker side of it better than the Spider-Man side of it. But to me I’d rather it be believable that he is a teenager who ended up as a hero.
Yeah I hate that Holden is a Raimi Fanboy and talks crap about the MCU Spidey when really hes the best representation of the character. Tobey was a good Peter Andrew was a good Spidey but Tom is great as both Peter and Spidey he was born for this role. Tom does a better job of acting like a teen and shows more struggle of what hes doing as Spidey between trying to have a normal life and trying to be a hero. I remember during Homecoming Holden despised that Aunt May told Peter that if he ever saw a robbery or men with guns etc to run and Holden got triggered by that and saying Aunt May wouldn't say that or something and alot of us said thats not the case she told him that because she doesn't want him to die like Uncle Ben not because she doesn't want him to help people. He also is triggered that Aunt May looks so much younger but realistically someones Aunt doesnt look like a grandma for a 16 year old they look similar age of Aunt May in the MCU. Her being hot is just a bonus lol The MCU Spider-Man are movies are supposed to be fun and honestly Homecoming was ok but Far From Home was amazing for me. It was both fun and had serious moments and alot of us consider it the best Spider-Man Movie.
The only critique I completely understand about Hollands Parker is he doesn’t struggle financially enough. I get that some people don’t love how he doesn’t always know what’s going on, but thats consistent with the younger version of the character from the comics and the fact is this version is still young. But that’s just where the character is now and he’s gonna change and grow. What really irks me is when people misattribute Tobey character traits as “authentic, comic accurate spiderman” because if you actually look at Tobey’s version, it’s VERY far from comic accurate. That doesn’t mean it’s bad, it’s a great interpretation! But it’s not comic accurate, and people like to insist newer takes on the character aren’t comic accurate when they’re not like Tobey, and that’s just not true.
@@jasontodd6822 You MCU fanboys just enjoy defending Iron boy Jr it's the truth Tom's Spider-Man isn't even Spider-Man nor has the core elements that make him Spider-Man just imagine if Batman's motivation wasn't his parents's death but instead he wanted to impress the Justice League to be a hero that's exactly what they're doing here.

This is my favorite Spider-Man film personally because i feel it captures to core character better than any other one ive seen. Spider-Man 2 was my favorite for years until this came out and i still love SM2. One of the first memories i have was going to the theater at 6 years old and seeing Spider-Man 2. That film definitely means more to me but this is imo a better Spider-Man story
Ask Jen how she feels now that shes watched "The Infinity Saga" in total. She's ended the official "Classic MCU" storyline and is as of now caught up in the main movie storyline. She's gotta feel some sorta way. I'd love to see her reaction and you guys discuss it. Great videos you guys. Keep em coming.
As always, nicely done. Rather than the "dinner/dessert" analogy, to me, the best way to view this film as the closing chapter of phase 4 is that Endgame is the climax and real ending of the "main" story, and this film is an "epilogue" that ties up a few remaining loose ends, gives us some more emotional closure on losing the MCU's main driving force (Tony Stark), and gives us a glimpse on where we are going next as this new chapter in the MCU is about to begin. "Epilogue" feels like a more fitting description.
"maybe they had a flock of birds or something" That's a reference to spider man 3 when sandman was created because the scientists thought he was just a bird
Looking forward to her reactions on the MCU Netflix shows, especially The Punisher. There was a lot of brutal stuff in those 2 seasons. Same with Daredevil.
I Love Holland's younger version of Spider-Man. People always think of college or older aged spider-man, as that's where he's been for a long time in the comics, and in the previous movies (Raimi's Spider-Man started in high-school but quickly surpassed that phase, and it didn't really play to him being high school age). But Spider-Man started out as a kid and was for a long while. I like to see the young inexperienced kid hero, just learning. It's a different dynamic from all the other MCU heroes. Unsure of himself and like the early comics screwing up quite a bit. I would really wish for a whole series of movies from this version rather than just a trilogy (why do they all just have to he trilogies?) where we see Holland play Parker/Spider-Man as he gets older and more developed in the role of super-hero.
AoS starts pretty rough and takes a few seasons to really get good. Basically, when they abandon the idea of shared canon is when it finally takes off.
Really looking forward to Phase 4! If half of these No Way Home rumors are true then it'll be nuts! I would like to eventually see a Holland movie where he is in his own element with no help.
If the rumour of another Trilogy in the MCU with Peter in college is true that is where we will see more Peter on his own and probably more traditional Spider-Man stuff such as money problems, him struggling to keep a job etc
@@rudrasingh6354 That's entirely possible as long as Disney and Sony play nice, Holland has said he's very happy to play Spider-Man for years and years
Great commentary as usual. Can't wait to see Jenn's reaction to WandaVision, and the other great Phase 4 lineup. I will say that she will be surprised to see what happens along the way. You know what I'm saying Holden😉!
I’m an interesting case where I grew up with Tobey as Spider-Man at a perfect age. I lived on that trilogy in my childhood. But while I think they’re pretty great at times and SM2 is awesome, I dont have “nostalgia goggles” for it. I personally like Tom Holland the most, and I like that they make him really awkward and childish because that’s what I feel he should be as a 15-16 year old. That being said, I do wish they’d distance him from being Iron Man Jr and let him grow organically
As someone who's from the Netherlands I appreciated that insert of "Holland" so much! Finally someone who understands the difference! When I saw this movie in theater the whole audience freaked out at the Holland scene. So cool, even with the orange shirts and everything :P One of the Dutch people in jail is actually a famous Dutch comedian, really cool!
Mark 33:06. That reminds me! Last time, you mentioned having grown-up with, Tobey McGuire, as your, "Spider-Man", and that made me feel old! My first live-action version was the one seen in, "The Electric Company"! I liked their theme song, buy the "Spidey" segments were why I became a regular viewer at the time. Then along came, Nicholas Hammond! My school friends and I, couldn't figure out they could show him standing on the floor and then flipping up to stand on the ceiling! That impressed us! You also brought up being told about how, losing to, Thanos, was Hulk's first fair fight! I suddenly recalled telling a young teenaged boy, or maybe a preteen/tween boy of 12, that much as he sat in the row behind mine. 😳
I love Tom Holland way more than Tobey and Andrew Garfield. Just because the other two seem like 30 year olds pretending to be high schoolers…it just doesn’t work in 2021.
Although i do agree with you with their looks, Tobey’s was more genuine to the character. The other two are more “cool kids” and even tho they try to make them losers by just adding a bully is just not what Peter Parker is. Just my opinion. I mean if they all come together by then next one it won’t fucking matter anymore heh. Cheers.

I highly doubt Tony even knew his name, or that he even existed for that matter. They even SHOW Stein bullying him and somehow that's Tony's fault?????
It was an ego thing. They ALL worked for Stark. They all made things for him. They all were brilliant, cutting edge, geniuses in their fields. And they ALL were made to look like idiot children on a DAILY basis by a guy that, for the for 3/4ths of his life, put in about a 1/12th of the work they did and had most of the good things in his life HANDED to him by simple virtue of his birth. Don't get me wrong, Tony more than made up for any of those shortcoming in the later part of his life and was THE hero of the MCU. It is easy to see why these guys grew to resent Stark and would want to be the NEW Iron Man, even if it was only as part of a team.

You also have to remember that Beck's plan, as he explained it to his team, wasn't originally supposed to cause massive harm. It was supposed to scare the public and introduce a threat that only Mystero could beat so they could be heroes. In other words, the MCU ripped off Syndrome from the Incredibles. They weren't intending to be villians.
@@grantpflum6844 not really. They showed how Tony treated EVERYBODY as not worth his time. As I said, it's MORE than likely that Tony ever set foot at the factory OR the office. He was too busy schmoozing Generals and politicians. If you think Tony "personally" mistreated that guy, I argue that Tony wouldn't even KNOW he was once a Stark employee. No I don't believe that guy was angry at Tony for any reason other than to just have him in the movie for convenience. By your own argument about how Tony treated people. He wouldn't even KNOW this guy. I also don't believe he was "constantly" being compared to Tony. THAT was a one time thing, because Tony had just redesigned new tech.
@@grantpflum6844 Also WHEN did he "always get compared to Tony"????? AND when was he fired????? "Because he couldn't produce results"????? Are you making assumptions??? Where is your evidence of these events. Obadiah Yelled at him ONCE about miniaturizing the arc reactor. That's it. As for being fired for being not good enough where is that evidence??? All we know is that after Tony died THIS group of people discovered that EDITH was going to Peter instead of Well quite frankly THEM. They were bitter and childish wanting something they didn't work for and thinking it was their right to have it. When you think about it Beck was likely the ONLY one fired. if they had no jobs, how could they pull of such elaborate deception ???? with scraps????? please don't tell me you think all these people were fired AND walked away from Stark Industries with ALL their projects intact?????? I doubt they even left with the Stark Industries' lab coats. (that one was a joke BTW.) I think you're making way too may assumptions about what can and cannot be done when you're unemployed.

SpiderMan Far From Home is like the epilogue of The Infinity Saga😂🤧
My favorite spiderman is definitely Tom. But Sam Raimi's Spiderman 2 is definitely one of the best superhero movies ever made. Hands down.
let this be an example of how every Spider-Man fan should react
The screencap of 14:11 where Holden is smirking at the camera and Jen looks confused is the perfect image for this series.
far from home is like the icing on the cake, where endgame was the cake
They do Mysterio the best they can. He's such a dumb villain with a great hook. I also feel like all of the Spider-Man actors have done something better than the others. This one I sort of view more as like an Ultimate Spider-Man sort of amalgamation.

He is the most accurate Spider man
People gets mad when something isn't the same as the comic, but Tom is the perfect recreation of the comic, and people hate him.

What about Black Widow?
I GET why Beck is actually the villain, he's a few fries short of a happy meal. But the scientist from Iron Man 1?????? It was Stein that mistreated HIOM not Tony.
@@grantpflum6844 I don't buy That explanation one bit EVERY SINGLE person who had issue with Tony was on a personal level. Not one of his enemies was just some "rando" who happened to work for a multi national corporation. the MCU did at least THAT right.
@@patrickcromwell7554 That's more of a you thing. But the MCU did show how Tony treated those under him, especially in the early days. And if you think being constantly compared to the alcoholic asshole who slept with the entire playboy calendar when you are supposed to be the best in your field and then fired when you can't match him, which a lot of those scientist where, DOESN'T hit you where you hurt then you have a lot to learn about inferiority complexes.
He wasn't THAT kind of boss. That's why Stein was the one in charge Tony spent his time in his workshop and sent new ideas in as he felt the need. Tony rarely interacted with people on the shop.

Favorite movie of all time, not just the MCU. Came at a time in my life I needed a story like this with the character I love most.
I honestly did not expect Jen to be so unimpressed at the twist lol
6:56 Holden’s reaction to when Jen asked him if Mysterio was a good guy is literally the best I laughed so hard honestly😂😂😂😂😂
These are my favorite non-Avengers MCU movies.
Oh god can’t wait for you guys to start the shows AND black widow comes out this week!!!!!!
SAM RAIMI SPIDER-MAN 2 IS THE BEST MOVIE EVER MADE. PERIOD.
But I loooove the MCU Spider-Man as well. SO FUCKING EXCITED FOR NO WAY HOME
Jen's realization of "OMG you're him!" is pure gold
I want to see Peter become an older brother to Tony’s daughter Morgan.
11:53 really gave me flashbacks to tony saying punchy in the gooey bag 😃🥲😅✨
U should make her watch “Into the spider verse!” Best spiderman movie ever imo!
Holden, I know that Jen is gonna love the Garfield Spider-Man movies! I just know she’s gonna like those ones better than any other.
Spider-Man: Into the Spider Verse is my absolute FAV of ALLLL the Spidey movies...
Beck being unnecessarily extra is the best description i've heard of him. It's both his flaw and his charm.
