  • Next to the tracks on which the Rodalies trains still run, the tunnel that will one day hide the railway as it passes through Sant Feliu de Llobregat has been taking shape in recent months. The future tunnel of about three kilometers has already been excavated at both ends and the central section is now being tackled with the intention of having the gallery passable from end to end at the beginning of next year.
The railway infrastructure manager (Adif) places the percentage of execution of works that began in the summer of 2021 at 65% and whose completion is scheduled for the end of 2025 with the objective that trains can pass through the underground section with the new station will also be buried before the end of 2026. On the side towards Molins de Rei, more than half of the tunnel that runs into the mine has been excavated. The other part, towards Sant Joan Despí, is built using screens, of which more than 90% of the planned piles and micropiles have already been installed and about 500 meters of the upper slab have been built.
