    Thank you for answering my question and giving me more insight about the position and the salary. Your videos motivate me to become an PA and I will keep you updated in the near future on PA school experience and hopefully me being a locum tenere one day.

    Hey Thanks you for the video I never found information online and this is giving me the motivation I needed. I was wondering what if I really enjoy my staff job but want to travel often. Do PA’s get the time off to do those such things or is it better to just become a traveling PA rather than take the risk of not doing what I enjoy?
    Thanks, Jaylin💜

    Thank you for the information and the ardent for PA! I have been looking into college because I’m about to graduate high school. I want to become a PA, so I was wondering if you can check colleges like Wagner college, Kean university, or St. John’s university?

    Hey Adanna! What field do you think is best to start in to gain experience in a broad range to be comfortable and effective in locum tenens? FM or UC perhaps? Thank you!

    Do you have to take a specific course to be a locum tenen, and can you switch?Like for example be a locum tenen for 3 years then go back to being a PA at a clinic or hospital?

    • @AdannaThePA
      @AdannaThePA  3 роки тому +4

      No special courses just be certified and have a license to practice in the state. Of note, a lot of the positions are willing to pay for your license in that particular state as well

    Hey Adana!! Could a PA do locus tenens right out of school, or would most places prefer you have some sort of experience first (since if you’re only at each location for a limited time, they probably won’t have time to train you)? Thanks!

    Hey, I wonder if you've had time to look into the gap in time/age between Undergrad and PA school applicants. The typical undergrad is 22ish, but the typical PA student accepted is 25-27 depending on the school... can we discuss? A video validating the upper-20s peoples may help with advice or conversations on the good and bad of taking time between undergrad and PA school

    If working locum tenens as a PA...going from one state to another....how does that work since each state requires that PAs be licensed to work in that state?

    • @AdannaThePA
      @AdannaThePA  3 роки тому +1

      It's like working at an agency, they typically pay for your licensure, for each state they're sending you to.

    We always hear that physicians have a high burn out rate. Do you feel this is the same for PAs? If so, do you have any tips for avoiding that?

    Do students in PA school take out personal loans to cover rent/ food? My brother in law is in medical school and says this is what most medical students do since there is no time to work. My husband starts PA school next year and we were curious about this. Thanks!

      Yes I’m a first year PA student, we typically don’t have the time to work, although a few of my classmates do now due to having more “free time” from taking online classes.

    • @AdannaThePA
      @AdannaThePA  3 роки тому +2

      So the answer is yes. the majority of students do take out loans, and/or try to get scholarships and grants. Most programs discourage working during school so it just depends on you and the structure of your program.

    Thank you for that information! You seem like a real positive person which is awesome! Those eyebrows though, whoa, did you put on some eyebrow fertilizer or what? :) I'm kidding, you do you. One question I had was if you are doing Locum Tenens positions, you probably don't have any benefits (health/medical/dental, vision) nor have any company profit sharing plans? This could be why it pays so much more.
