About six years ago I went on a family adventure. The adventure was a trip to visit family I hadn't seen in a while with two of my three kids. We drove from South Texas all the way to Colorado and Nebraska and back. While in Colorado we went to this adorable, quaint, hidden gem of a vineyard. We sampled wine, toured through the processing part of the vineyard and then we're allowed to walk through the gorgeous vines themselves. This beautiful place was not seen from any major road and when you were on the highest hill it felt like you were in another place. It was gorgeous and the smell of the plants and the glow of the sun all imprinted this memory of pure joy and beauty into my soul.
Lovely pattern! I agree, the cables are stunning! My husband and I visit local vineyards when we're on vacation. We're not big wine drinkers, but I have been known to make a reduction or two with wine.
When I was young, my grandparents had some grapevines on the side of their yard. My grandma would make grape jelly every year. I have a dream of visiting a vineyard and just stare at all the vines. I fine that very relaxing for some reason. I can hardly wait to try the beautiful amazing pattern!
My brother’s home is perched on a high cliff of Lake Seneca, NY. In order to get to his home, it is necessary to drive down a dirt road that passes directly through a vineyard. Grapes hang in full beauty from the vines. This Vineyard Shawl would be perfect to throw around your shoulders when you sit out on his porch overlooking the lake on a cool evening. Thanks so much for your very explicit directions with the cables!
My grandpa was a beekeeper. He also had a few grape vines at the end of the garden. I have such fond memories of him tending the vines, harvesting the garden and collecting honey. It gives me joy to read other’s comments on their memories & experiences. Thank you!
I have been to a vineyard in Sicily and it was beautiful! It was run by a family and had been kept up within 4 or 5 generations and kept getting passed down. The sense of history within all that beauty was awesome!
This shawl looks so beautiful in these greens and so cozy. I have been in vineyards and also grew up with my mum and dad having a tiny one just for personal use. It was a lot of harx work, but also a lot of fun 😊
I have visited vineyards before but never during the harvesting season. What a magical time it would be seeing the grapes reach their peak ripeness. Wow!
I live in Ontario, Canada. There are so many local vineyards in Ontario. The famous one being in Niagara Falls. Whenever my husband and I have time, we would take weekend trips to local vineyards for wine tasting and tours. I love the tours because many are beautifully kept. It's so peaceful!!!
We live near wine country & see acres of vineyards when we drive around. The straight lines stretch out for acres, then, up close, each individual plant & leaf form a complex texture, just like this pattern. What a lovely design.
I went to a vineyard last year for my birthday! We sat in a field, drank wine, ate good food and enjoyed the cool lush breeze ☺ my favorite wine is a delicous Cabernet! This pattern is absolutely beautiful!!!!!
Hi Chandi! When I was little, my uncle had grape arbors in his yard that I always thought were so pretty. Now, as an adult, going to a vineyard is on my list of things to do. Thank you for the great tutorial! This shawl is beautiful!
I have visited a few vineyards...all of them were in beautiful country! (Europe and North America) my fav wine is a simple pinot grigio! Wow I absolutely Love the shawl....Gorgeous!!!!
When I was little I always dream to buy a land and build a vineyard with my dad. He used to make me smell vine and tell him what I thought it was in it. I loved that game and having a vineyard and a house felt like a perfect way to continue play together. We never bought anything but I still look for inspiration every time I see one. Also soon or later I know I will be on a vineyard actually picking the grapes and help make wine. I want to see it and experience it. Thank you for this and all the beautiful designs, yarns and especially words you share with us💚
Oh my! When you zoom in on this shaw, I am amazed at the detail! Can't wait to make this shawl!! I can't imagine getting bored while knitting it! We"re headed to upper Michigan and the vineyards around Traverse City next week. Love Autumn at the wineries!!
Yes, I've been to several vineyards. I remember going to them with my parents, when I was a child. We would be camping and when we saw a vineyard my parents would always stop by. This is how we found Heitz Winery (about 50 years ago -- Man! Do I feel old now!). I also lived in the SF Bay area, so we went to Napa and Sonoma a lot, hence vineyards and wineries.😄 I love the shawl and look forward to making it one day.
love the color, green is my mom's favorite. I have visited a vineyard in Germany. I just LOVED it, we even tasted the wines. By the end of the tasting everybody was singing along, even those persons that didn't know any German.
Just a gorgeous shawl. I was at a Vegas show last night and the air conditioning was blowing right on me, I truly could have used this beautiful shawl during the show. I have been to many vineyards in California. My younger daughter had her wedding at Wente Vineyard in Livermore, California. It was a beautiful vineyard and wedding.🍷
I grew up near the Finger Lakes region. My parents used to take us grape picking every year. I miss it so much, it's beautiful out there. Lakes and vineyards. ❤
Very beautiful shawl ❤ We visited a vineyard in Tuscany. We wanted to go to one that was some distance away but realised when we arrived in Italy that we couldn't arrange the transport to get there. The couple who owned the apartment we were staying in heard about this and arranged for us to visit their neighbour's vineyard and have a private tour and tasting session! It was one of the best experiences ever, they were so welcoming and kind. What we had saved on transport to the other vineyard we spent on wine to take home as presents 😊
Oh yes, I've visited a vineyard!! I live in Greece and some years ago we visited a great family business, an organic vineyard and winery and it was beautiful! The owner showed us around, explained how the wine was made and in the end we had a great wine tasting session, with so many delicious goodies from his wife! An unforgettable experience!!
That's so elegant! I use to be scared of doing cable knitting but doing a project have me confidence. As for going to a vineyard, I like an hour from Napa and one day I went with my 2 friends to tour vineyards and ready good food. We went to one of the smallest bookstores. It was a great memory to have with really good friends
I love going to vineyards; grapes, lavender, mustard and fresh air. This shawl is spectacular...a good way to learn cabling. Thanks for all of the beautiful patterns and amazing yarns you bring to us!
Visiting vineyards in Tuscany was the best experience because of the history, these are very old vineyards. It is also fun to visit newer vineyards, we had a wonderful lunch/wine tasting in Slovenia, which is just developing the industry.
I have been to several vineyards all over the US, and even some in Germany! It's always interesting talking to the wine makers about their process and seeing their pride when you enjoy their wine. Del Dotto in Napa was one of the most gorgeous that I've been to. It even has its own wine cave!
Absolutely Gorgeous 😍 I have never been to a vineyard, but there are a few around where I grew up that I would love to visit. Lots of love and yarny hugs 💗 Good luck to everyone ❤
Lovely shawl! Cable within cable is such a fun idea!! Yes, I have visited a vineyard in Napa Valley California when I visited the state a few years ago post COVID. It was a memorable trip! Thank you for the video and for your tutorial!
Design is something you don't come across very often. Can't wait to try it. Used the yarn before and it is beautiful, soft and the drape is wonderful. Thank you Candi
What a gorgeous shawl pattern! I grew up near the Finger lakes region of NY known for its vineyards and wineries. And lived for many years as an adult near Brotherhood Winery, also in NY. It is the country’s longest continuously operating winery/vineyard as they made communion wine during the prohibition.
Even though I do not drink wine or even like it, I'd love to visit a vineyard! There's something noble about winemaking and I love eating grapes 😁 It also reminds me of visiting my grandparents when I was a little girl. They used to have a very small vineyard, not for wine making but to have grapes to eat. They were delicious, oblong shaped.
I never went to a vineyard but when I was young my cousin did grow quite a few grapes. She had wanted to see what she could make with some recipes that she found. I remember having to go out and pick the grapes off the vineyard. We spent the entire day picking the grapes and then we went and spent the entire evening making a batch of jellies and jams, and just trying to figure out all that we could do with every single one of these grapes. In the end we made several batches of jam which we spread throughout the entire family and every batch of jam had a different taste, it was so unique and so great, that jam did not last but it was still the best I've had memories included.
Oh love visiting our vineyards here in Connecticut! My bff and I recently took our Mamas to Aquila’s Vineyard. Such a fun time! Love your dress, btw! Cheers! 🍷
Hi Chandi. What a pretty design. I love cables and the green tones you’ve chosen are lovely! We went to a fun wine tasting on Cale Cod some years back. It was loads of fun! I am a Chardonnay girl! Crisp and chilled! Thanks for another great pattern!❤
This pattern is stunning! I love cables and the idea of cables within cables is mind-blowing! They really do resemble grape vines! I have been to a couple of vineyards and we do have some near me, where the soil grows amazing grapes for wine. My favorite vineyard is in Palisades Colorado, where they also grow the most amazing peaches. I am a mead lover, which is honey wine. At least once a year or so, I order it and have Apricot Mead sent to my house, because they don't sell it here. It is such a treat!
Love the yarn! I have had the pleasure of visiting vineyards in California, Chile and Argentina as well as France, Portugal and Spain. Each place has such a distinct flavor to their wines and I feel like they reflect the land the vines grow in.
Yes, I have visited the Southcoast vineyard in CA! Just beautiful there. My favorite wine was California Girl, in fact my daughter is a wine club member and we just ordered a case from Southcoast Wineries. On that visit to CA we had enjoyed a trolly vineyards tours and stopped off at a few other vineyards. We recently visted the last two years to Seattle and have visited several vineyards such as Chatue St. Michele so peaceful there and the grounds are breathtaking with beautiful flower gardens and ponds!
Oh my! This is just stunning💚 I have been to several vineyards out on Eastern Long Island, NY, where I live. My most recent trip was to Pindor vineyard where we enjoyed live music with friends. My favorite wine is a nice crisp white Pino Grigio.
Stunning shawl!❤ As a young girl I would run out of my grandparents home and through the vineyard to find my grandfather and bring him his lunch. It was a beautiful place for me for many different reasons.
Yes, I have visited a vineyard... in the Niagara region, where orchards formerly abounded, and where much of the land has now been converted to vineyards. It was on a beautiful summer day and a lovely experience.
Vineyards, wineries, and breweries are some of my favorite places to visit on trips to new places! There is also a vineyard about a 15-minute drive from my home, so I take the time to visit occasionally. My favorite wines are big, dry reds with a lot of personality, and I think I would make this shawl in a wine red palette.
Gorgeous shawl!! 😍 Yes I went to a local vineyard with my friend and it was beautiful sitting outside and sipping wine and just enjoying each others company. Truly refreshing!
I love cables! The texture and visual effect is always a treat. Even though I live in an area where there are several vineyards, I've not been. Beautiful shawl! Thank you. Have a magical day!!
OMG❤OMG❤OMG❤ the yarn and pattern are a match made in heaven!!!! I have to get a set and cast on!!! I am a Cabernet Sauvignon girl most days but on Sunday afternoons I will knit with Chardonnay and some relaxing guitar music. Thank you again for this fabulous gift of a pattern and Lucious yarns!!!
Of course I Visitenkarte a vineyard, I live in Germany and we have a lot of them. It's so peaceful there and you can see a lot of species living there. What a very special pattern, WOW!!!
This is beautiful. When I was in New Zealand in 1999, I stayed on the Mud House vineyard, and met many of the Marlborough winemakers. More recently, our English wines have been attracting attention, and I’ve been to Denbies in Surrey, for a 10k run and a tasting or three! Favourite wine? Oooh, let me see - Pinot Noir, Gewurztraminer, English Sparkling, or Tavel Rosé.
Been to many vineyards, my husband grew up in wine country and his family is still there. Never worked with Beacon base yet, this shawl is stunning. My favorite wine is a Melbec.
In high school I was lucky enough to be in Italy. We stayed in Tuscany at the top of a mountain just off the side of a vineyard. I think about the peace and the views everyday
Some years ago while we were visiting Ontario we did go to a vineyard was amazing seeing all the grapes on the vines love the shawl in those greens looks amazing with those changing colours
Gorgeous greens fading resembling a vineyard. I have warm and fond memories of having brunch in a vineyard in Capetown SA. I would love the set even if I don't its gorgeous and good luck to the one you wins it.
what a beautiful pattern! Living in Europe I've been to many vineyards. They are such a great historical staple in many regions everywhere. Happy greetings!
Hi Chandi, OMG, that shawl is gorgeous. I love the cable looks I can't wait to try and make that shawl. I haven't been to a vineyard yet. I do enjoy a glass of wine every now and then. My favorite one is with all the bubbles.
my favorite wine is a champagne, Veuve Clicot. I worked for a group of wineries in CO, about 8 yrs ago, and it was so much fun. This is a gorgeous shawl. thank you!
Love this pattern! I’ve been to a few vineyards, but not out among the grapes much. But, we grew grapes when I was a kid, and they were really interesting to learn about and eat our own! Our grapes were a dark purple with a beautiful blue-green flesh. Yummy!
Yes I recently visited a vineyard in July. And many others before and I love the whole feeling and decor and the dreamy feeling after sipping wine at leisure in that environment.
Oh my golly gee wizzy!!! That shawl! That dress!!! That yarn!!!!!!!!!!! When I make this beauty, I'll be enjoying a glass of wine. Or 2...Hahahaaa! I've been to 3 vineyards. I've got the Crossaster and Rainier to finish, still. Love ya!!! Thanks for another beautiful shawl pattern and beautiful yarn!!! I hope you had minimal damage from Helene, hopefully none at all. Stay safe.
Hi Chandi. Love the knit shawl and the yarn color. Also love your stitch tutorials. I have never visited a vineyard but visiting Napa valley vineyards has been forever on my bucket list.
We have a lovely vineyard near us. It is such a tranquil environment. My favorite wine is actually a mistake wine. They were making one of their dry red wines and they ended up making a semi-sweet due to an error in the process; however, this "error" has become their best selling and everyone's favorite. I love when mistakes open up new possibilities.
This is beautiful! Cables might be the second reason I wanted to learn to knit - lace being the first. So cozy! We've never been to a vineyard, but we LOVE visiting gardens! We had a "wall" of raspberry plants in our garden in TN; it was so fun to pick through and hunt for berries. If I could revisit any garden, it would be our own garden in TN - even though sadly, it's not there anymore. But it was our happy place. 💕 Lots of coffee dates, prayers, snacks, summer meals, hard work, and flower cutting happened in that garden! Second garden I would visit is Jefferson's Monticello 😁
I have never been to a vineyard but would love to someday. This pattern is so unique and beautiful! The cables look doable and the yarn is exquisite! I love a good Cabernet Sauvignon or a Chardonnay. Thanks for these videos they are so helpful. 😘
I am a huge winery lover. Living in Pennsylvania only 1 mile from Lake Erie, we have wineries on both sides of us, within 50 miles, in Ohio & New York. We even had our wedding reception at one. I adore the shawl & the color choice for it.
Beautiful shawl - cables within cables + the colours! I've been to vineyards in Kelowna, BC, Niagara on the Lake, Ontario and Greece. Who knew sommelier was a career?!?
I have never visited a vineyard, drove past them as a child when we lived in Europe. There are so many beautiful wines out there one of my favorites is Menage A Trois their original red is a blend of tree grape varieties.
Not exactly a vineyard but my grandpa would grow raspberries and then a local winery would use them for their wines and then I would buy a couple bottles of the wine that was made with his raspberries. It was so special and tasted delicious!
Absolutely stunning shawl!! I have been fortunate enough to visit vineyards in Germany and the Niagara Region of Ontario, Canada, and loved tasting the various vines. My favourite wine is Sauvignon Blanc, closely followed by a crisp Pinot Grigio.
Congratulations! Your comment was chosen to win the Forest Canopy Hues Beacon DK yarn kit. Please send us a message using our contact form at www.expressionfiberarts.com/contact-us/ and let us know where you would like your prize shipped and to whom. Thanks so much, and have a wonderful day!
That shawl is simply gorgeous, color texture style. I lived in my father’s acre of grape trellis & helped with harvesting. Cannot miss a glass of wine with dinner. I’m up as usual at 3 am. Doctor advised it’s bad for my neuro cellular rejuvenation today & suggested a few supplements to put me to sleep. Maybe it’ll help me knit this shawl. ❤
I have visited a large vineyard in california and 3 here in NH - small ones. Moscato is nice and a blush wine is great too. Love this shawl - love doing cables and this one is gorgeous!!!!
Georgeous shawl! I haven't been to a vineyard, but would enjoy the experience. I don't drink (diabetic), but would probably choose a sweet wine if I could. Great teaching Chandi! Cables inside cables, I'm learning so much! Thank you!
My favorite wines are the rieslings. I have visited the vineyards in Temecula, California and participated in their wine tastings. That shawl is absolutely beautiful!
What a beautiful pattern Chandi! We visited a vineyard about 10 years ago in Long Island NY. I totally forgot the name but it was a very nice experience. Thanks for sharing this pattern with us 🥰
Yes, I've visited vineyards! In fact, in Texas (yes, Texas hill country has vineyards!) , a friend and I actually stepped into a vat of grapes at a vineyard and smashed them. Purple feet, yes! I downloaded this pattern and would love to win the yarn! Thank you, Chandi, for this and all your sooo helpful videos!!
Such a beautiful shawl!! I've been to our little local winery for line dancing a few years ago, they have a vineyard behind it. You always put out such beautiful patterns!!
Such a unique fabulous design! That color is gorgeous too! I’ve never visited a vineyard and am not much of a wine drinker. I have discovered that I like a fruity moscato though.
I remember going to a small vineyard at Biltmore. They had an activity for the kids where they could stomp grapes an make a footprint to keep. Our daughter ha so much fun ❤
When I was little I always dream to buy a land and build a vineyard with my dad. He used to make me smell vine and tell him what I thought it was in it. Simply radiates elegance. A true masterpiece once again from you Chandi.

My grand niece just had her wedding at a vineyard! What a fun experience!
Walking pensively through a vineyard what a feast for all the senses ✨✨
When we lived in Germany, we lived near a vineyard and I would walk through the vineyard to the bakery. Yummm and a walk. what could be better!!!!!
That sounds wonderful 💕
my favorite wine is a champagne, Veuve Clicot. I worked for a group of wineries in CO, about 8 yrs ago, and it was so much fun. This is a gorgeous shawl. thank you!
I have visited a vineyard here in Maryland so wonderful to view when full of grapes. Thank you.
My sister and brother in law had a vineyard on Pender island in BC. It was truly something to be seen with the Pacific Ocean in the background.

@@ExpressionFiberArts OMG Chandi! Thank you so very much and now I will be making something for said sister.
Been to soooo many vineyards, they're all so beautiful. Ethereal. Love this pattern 🧡
No is so sad I have never been to or visited a vineyard will love to. Thanks Chandi the shawl is beautiful and the color love them.
I have never visited a vineyard but would like to. This is a beautiful pattern and the yarn is lovely.
What a beautiful pattern Chandi! We visited a vineyard about 10 years ago in Long Island NY. I totally forgot the name but it was a very nice experience. Thanks for sharing this pattern with us 🥰
This is so beautiful. I have only ever seen a vineyard in passing from afar. I would love to walk through one someday
❤ I visited a few and even helped picking the grape one year in the East of France, great memories. I LOVE this new pattern !
Wow. Those cables are stunning 🤩. I have never been to a vineyard but I’d love to go one day.
I loved that game and having a vineyard and a house felt like a perfect way to continue play together.
We never bought anything but I still look for inspiration every time I see one. Also soon or later I know I will be on a vineyard actually picking the grapes and help make wine. I want to see it and experience it.
Thank you for this and all the beautiful designs, yarns and especially words you share with us💚
The shawl is stunning and I love the color. I have visited a couple vineyards and my favorite wine is pinot noir.
