My crafting time is my alone time, I've always been a solitary crafter who prefers my own company, although I do watch a lot of crafting content on you tube, I love the community and it feels like company without having to worry about feeling included or judged or anything! Another beautiful design, x
I've never knitted/crocheted in a group. But lately, my 9 year old likes to sit with me and she's now learning. She sees me working and runs and grabs her project and we work together. We talk, I help hear, and it soothes my soul to spend that time with her. ❤
I used to be alone doing my knit/crochet until my teenage daughter started knitting/crocheting as well. We now spend time together while we enjoy doing our own projects. Thank you Chandi for your generosity and loving kindness!!! ❤
I like to craft alone - its my "me-time". My mind is quite chaotic, and crafting alone is the only way I've found that quietens down the noise in my head. It's my meditation 😊
Hello Chandi! I usually knit alone every evening. I do take my knitting when traveling, etc. I have never knit with a group of knitters, which I would imagine would be fun and joyful. Thank you for your soothing and inspiring words in every message. May your day be filled with sunshine and happiness!
I prefer to knit alone or with one of my friends who is also a knitter - because we are the type of friends who can sit and not have to talk - we are that comfortable with each other. I also want to say thanks for this pattern - my niece is getting married and has had difficulty picking a pattern for her wedding shawl. I showed her this and she was instantly- that’s it!! So we both thank you!!
I usually knit alone, because I think I’d lose my concentration if I were in a group or with someone else. The calming feeling that I get from knitting is worth the solitude to get there. This shawl looks like it would be so quick to knit and lots of fun! The color is so sherbet-y! I love the shimmer and drape!
I joined a flax and fleece guild, the members always have something they are creating whether knitting, crochet or spinning. And it’s fun to be a part of a group that enjoy making while meeting. I take my knitting and crochet projects wherever I go, but am usually the only person making something. I find I can actually focus and listen better and feel this is more respectful than the folks who are fiddling with their phones or doodling.
I prefer crocheting to knitting, which I have never felt accomplished at. I like crocheting in a group on Wednesdays in my small town. I gather with other yarn lovers, quilters, spinners and weavers. It has been a wonderful experience. We may not get much work done, but the conversation is always uplifting and I come away with a heightened sense of community, and awe for the amount of talented women in my small corner of the world.
For the first time in my life, I have a studio room in my home dedicated to my favorite handiwork. Everything is organized and beautiful, making it my happy place. I love to knit, crochet, do beadwork and wire work there. Come to think of it, the Snoesig shawl embodies that feeling, beautifully comforting with hearts full of love 💕 Can’t wait to begin!
I'm mainly a lone knitter, able to get lost in the pattern and quiet the rest of life. I do enjoy a monthly knit and natter hour which, if im honest, is just a chance to share wips and fos and gain some well appreciated praise 😅 I can crochet in company better but I still prefer being left in peace during my crafting Thank you for always being that positive voice
I only knit alone. Thank you so much for the heartwarming intro on this video! And... I was very pleasantly surprised by your little dialogue with Tim, you both have such soothing voices. That conversation between the two of you was like the little hearts in this pattern 💗
I took up crochet in 2017, I fell of a roof, I was an insurance adjuster for wind and hail, I really messed up my feet both and was bed ridden for 7mths, oh I was going thru you tube and came across one of your videos, you had such a calming and tranquil voice I watched! I looked thru the rest of your creations and was no matter what going to learn to crochet and knit! I have done so and made many of your creations most get grabbed up by family and friends! lol I found this so peaceful it helps to take the pain away while I am busy working on a project! I am to busy counting stitches instead of counting pain! Thank you so much for all the beautiful work you share with us. God bless you sweet lady
I love to craft alone - it’s my quiet time. I normally have a big mug a tea and some classical music play - that way the hectic world falls silent and it’s just the music, my pins and some wonderful yarn. My slice of perfection!
I enjoy knitting with my guy 😊 while we watch TV or while he drives ❤ He never complains 🥰 I learned to knit and crochet from a very dear friend (who now has Alzheimer’s disease) as an early teenager then didn’t do either while raising the kids. Thanks to my son and daughter-in-law I picked it back up…it became my “sanity” and got me through an extremely rough period of several years before I got divorced. Now that I’m retired and have a happy relationship I spend most every day working on at least one and sometimes two different projects. Thank you for all you, Tim and your team do 🧶
I love to knit alone because it gives me the opportunity to reflect in peace and quiet. Beautiful design! Thank you Chandi for teaching us all the lovely patterns and providing us with beautiful yarns ❤
So delicate ... absolutely beautiful. Used to knit with mum but she passed three weeks ago and only now I have decided to increase my knitting skills. Found your channel and it makes me happy to know I could one day make mum proud by making something all on my own.
I enjoy both ways, I always have projects that are repetitive for the times when I'm sharing it with friends and family and more concentrated it ones for when I'm alone with my doggies. I also have the privilege to be able to crochet with my youngest daughter that just turned 21 and it's a full time nurse student and has two jobs, we soak every minute when we're together and we made our very first wearable together (Azorella )😊. Thank you Chandi for encouraging us to be better in this world 🌎 and to be the best that we can be on the daily basis. Hugs to "you" all the "wonderful people" behind the scenes.❤❤❤.
I've only ever knit alone but do enjoy watching other crafter's videos (or a good TV show) while I do! I imagine I'd love to knit with someone else or a group as I feel a sense of community in this craft would benefit me greatly!
I love being together with others. Listening and sharing with others is very fulfilling for me. When knitting something complicated though, definitely have to be alone. This is a beautiful design. Thank you for sharing 🩷
I was in a stitch group before covid, but I was the only knitter/crocheter. The others did needlepoint. What was nice about the group is that we could learn what other people were doing. I could help with knitting/crocheting and others could help me with needlepoint. Being social once a month in stitch was nice. I would take simple things to make. When alone I can dive into the more complicated patterns, so both is a win win!
I find that knitting is very zen. I get totally immersed in my projects so it doesn’t matter whether or not I am alone or not. While knitting my mind clears and I become unaware of everything around me.
I usually knit alone (it's my calming time) but I recently joined a knitting group that meets once a week at my local library and I love it! We all have a good laugh and share tips and tricks on knitting, crocheting and we generally chat about whatever's going on in our lives.
A beautiful shawl. I always knit alone but when I can I love my church knitting group. All out items are donated to organizations in the community. Bless you Chandi for your beautiful yarn.
What a beautiful pattern!! I'm going to hop over and order it, but wanted to get registered to win the yarn first!! Thank you for the video! I especially liked the little box showing the row-by-row written instructions. I prefer to knit alone if I'm using a detailed pattern but have been known to work on an easy, repeating project among friends. Thank you, Chandi, Tim, and all the EFA team members for helping us make beautiful things!!
I knit almost every day. I make prayer shawls and blankets for my community. I love knitting alone and also with friends. Knitting calms me and it is like meditation for me. Love your website patterns and yarn. Blessing to all!
This is FABULOUS! Definitely will be knitting this one! As for my preference, I guess it depends on what I'm working on. If I'm knitting something easy, or repetitive , a group is fine. If I have to concentrate, alone is better. Then there are times when I just REALLY enjoy the silence and peace of a moment of knitting alone. Your videos are a breath of fresh air. Thank you for another relaxing moment before I jump into the stresses of the day.
I'm definitely a lone knitter. It's almost meditative sometimes. When no one else is home I can enter another world where it's just me and my knitting. Sometimes in an evening I just get out a simple project and knit away whilst listening to the tv. This project is beautiful, yet looks easy enough for me to do. A gorgeous project to gift to a friend I think.
I love my quiet time knitting alone with my cat Jackie beside me. But, I have to say, I’ve most enjoyed the time I get to knit with my Mom, who has taught me much of my knitting knowledge. It’s a special bond we share through our mutual love of fiber arts. It is also lots of fun every now and then, to knit in a group with fellow knitters! Knitting is where I find serenity, friendship, and happiness.
So pretty! I think for me i don’t really have a preference because I see and feel the value of both. It’s a well balance. I love the excitement of the love shared together over creating something with our hands and overcoming challenges, I also love when somebody is new to it and seeing their excitement over their first creation and how they can’t believe they did that 😊 you see that passion and admiration grow and blossom. Equally I love knitting and crocheting alone, whether I am working on a new challenge or the rhythmic of a pattern that’s calming. It’s rewarding either way. I am happy to say I don’t have a preference for one or the other, I enjoy it shared or simply alone.
I love the color and the stitches of this pattern! I have always knit "alone" - usually while listening to a story on audible, or read by Daddy with the kiddos all listening too. But it sounds like so much fun to be in a knitting group.
I like both. Sometimes alone, as it adds to my peace. Sometimes in a group, as it fulfills my need for connection. Love the pattern! So simple but elegant
I knit or crochet usually alone. I have never had a group of people to do these with. I do however usually do my crafts when I sit in a room with my family. It gives me peace while spending time with my family.
I love to knit in groups, but since moving to Colorado from Minneapolis I haven't found any knitting groups so am happily knitting by myself. I LOVE this pattern, but then I love most of the patterns that are sent to my inbox every Friday by EFA. I even gifted the blanket yearlong KAL from 2 years ago to my cousin who so graciously lets me stay in her home when I go back to MN every summer, and she was thrilled with the beautiful colors and stitches. Thank you!
I like to knit alone and with friends, alone it gives me peace of mind and time to think about, with friends I like to teach, also just to catch up with them. Thank you Chandi it’s a beautiful shawl.
Most often I like to work alone at the end of the workday. It calms and resets me after the stress of the day. Once a year, I go on a crafing retreat with friends which is super fun.
Another fabulous design!!! I have collected so many of your patterns through the years and this will be the next one! I knit alone most often, but never turn down an invitation from knitting friends to knit together ! 🙂
Your shawls get more n more gorgeous as they keep coming. I safely have to say I knit n crochet alone. Would be so nice to sit n talk with while knitting or crocheting. Thank you for this lovely video❤❤❤
I enjoy the peace that focusing and feeling the yarn brings knitting alone brings. But I couldn't do it without community and support is important from my crafting friends. Thank you for your friendly, kind words and encouragement.Your channel is beautiful .
i prefer to knit alone. it is my alone time and time to focus on the sensual simple pleasure of the fibers I am working with. Knitting is my meditation. I also enjoy the knitting and fiber arts community and checking in for inspiration and the synergy from connecting with others that have a common appreciation of our crafts and the long the lineage/heritage that has been passed forward and gifted to us.
I started knitting after I saw a lady knitting a shawl with a peacock feather design. I had that as my goal. I progressed very fast but haven't made that shawl yet. When I see hearts it makes me want to get them for my daughter. She's my cardiac kid and our family has learned to be grateful for the beauty in this life because of it. I love this pattern, thank you
I love knitting alone until I’m comfortable with my pattern. Then once I’m comfortable anywhere and anytime. I’m trying to get a group together in my community. I love watching you knit. Your explanations and stitches are so clear yet entertaining.
I thought oh! what a beautiful shawl and how gorgeous it would look in that peach yarn. The yarn looks as if it was creamy and yummy to the touch, just lovely. And all my crafts are done alone
It is a gorgeous and timeless shawl . My favorite color of all time!! I would love to knit in a group, share ideas, share our patterns and talk about project. Thank you for sharing your knowledge and expertise with us and thank you for being so generous to share your patterns for free. I don’t think any influencer is as generous as you are! Your videos are top notch! Your yarns are of high quality and your patterns are unique!
I like to knit alone if I want to make any progress! In my experience, when I've knitted in a group, I've made mistakes and have to tink back everything! What a pretty design! Just in time to make before Valentine's day!
I have actually never knit or crocheted in a group. I have crocheted with my aunt a few times snuggled together in her bed. I had actually forgotten that. Thank you so much for that question and jogging that previous memory. 🥰 That yarn is beautiful and that pattern: my jaw actually dropped!
I prefer to knit alone as my brain cant concentrate when I'm around other people! LOL But I do love to crochet with other people tho. I love the conversations we have. I think this knitted pattern is one of my absolute favorites! It's not too difficult for my not super smart brain, plus its gorgeous! Thank you for this wonderful pattern and have fantastic weekend!
I love this pattern. I love to knit alone with my audio books, but I also like in group knitting sessions because we get to share moments, and learn about each other. Thanks for sharing
I knit alone, though I do like knitting with others. As a truck driver, I knit while he drives or when I'm delivering and he is sleeping. A beautiful shawl!
I usually knit and/or crochet alone. I have worked in groups so it's fine either way. The hearts look so lovely and easy to make. Thanks for the great teaching. Continued blessings!
I’ve only been knitting about three years. I usually knit more challenging patterns at home alone with TV and music off. With the simpler projects I can knit with my Church knitting group. I always love the patterns you share on your channel.
Hi Chandi. Being a person who is still learning to knit, I have joined a group of ladies who know how to knit and are willing to give me pointers. So with the fear of dropping stitches, I find it much more comforting at this point to knit with others.
You have another beautiful shawl especially with the delicate hearts. I enjoy knitting and crafting alone as this is my personal time. However, I do cherish the knitting and crocheting time I have with my daughter when she is home from school. Sometimes I even think how fun it would be to be part of knitting/crocheting group in my community.🤓
How beautiful this pattern is, and the yak yarn is ultra soft. I can not say enough about it. I love this lovely peach color. I've got so many projects lined up, and this will be another!!! Thank you for your tutorial as always.
I love your yarn and the beautiful patterns, and I appreciate the videos when you are showing us how work the pattern. Great demonstrations with inspirational music and your calming voice. Thank you for teaching us🙏🌻
I love knitting alone as this my time to deep dive into the peace of knitting with no interruptions. It brings me back to my creativity in each moment.
I knit all the time and anywhere. I find that I’m in my own little world when I knit on the train traveling to work. On my lunch break I talk with others while knitting and knit while watching tv with my husband in the evenings. I do get more knitting done when my husband and the dogs go to sleep! 🫢
How lovely! And I thoroughly enjoy the color and how it seems to just wrap around you! I find that most of the time when I'm either crocheting or knitting that I am alone. I don't think it's on purpose really, but just by happenstance. I don't mind others around, but I seem to relax more when it's just me in a cozy corner, a hot cup of something yummy, and the rhythm of putting the stitches together. Ahhh peace!
I prefer to knit alone when I’m working on a more complicated pattern, but I also love to knit with friends! I love seeing what everyone is working on. It’s so inspiring, and enjoy everyone’s company.
I am happy knitting both alone and with a group. If it is a complicated pattern, I like to be alone to concentrate. Usually, if I am working on something complicated with a group, I make too many mistakes. With a group, I like easy knits. Anytime is a great time to knit!
I enjoy the company of others when I am knitting something easy (in person, on speakerphone and often a podcast) but if I need to follow a chart or detailed pattern I need undisturbed alone time. Thank you for the calm and encouraging tutorials!
I like to crochet and knit by myself in the peace and quiet. It definitely relaxes me. I do crafting a lot while watching UA-cam channels such as yours. All of you have taught me so much. You have become my friends.💕🧶💕🧶😢
My favorite color! Like most things, knitting alone or in a group, just depends on my mood. I often get so relaxed knitting alone, that I doze off. Nice pattern!!!
Alone, but with the sound of my husband beebopping around in the background. I like when he puts on his music, does a little cleaning, makes toast and eggs, etc. I can drown out all the quiet little noises if I need to count a section, but then tune back in to his relaxed sounds as I please.
This is such a beautiful combination of yarn and a pattern, just lovely! So appreciate you! My favorite knitting time is with my friends who help me in the knitting process because im such a novice. Then my confidence is lifted to be able to finish the rest.
I knit alone, but I cross stitch with others. Knitting needs my full attention as I am still learning, but it quiets all the voices, which is so calming.
Oh my gosh!!! I love this pattern and the beauty and simplicity of it. I always knit alone, it my time. Although I have a couple of elderly ladies that want me to join them knitting. My husband said I wouldn’t do well since I’m always counting. 😂 But I may give it a try. Would love to win this set of beautiful yarn. Thanks always for sharing and teaching. ❤
I can craft no matter what’s going on around me. It’s so meditative and relaxing. I cannot wait to be able to get one of your yarns, they are all so beautiful.
this is a lovely pattern! I so need to get into my yarn room soon because I cannot wait to try it! I'm pretty much a hermit, especially since my injury ,so I always craft alone - I like the quiet peace in knit and crochet; it helps me get through any anxiety I may be feeling on any given day.
My crafting time is my alone time, I've always been a solitary crafter who prefers my own company, although I do watch a lot of crafting content on you tube, I love the community and it feels like company without having to worry about feeling included or judged or anything! Another beautiful design, x
I endorse this statement. Thank you!

I only knit alone.
Thank you so much for the heartwarming intro on this video!
And... I was very pleasantly surprised by your little dialogue with Tim, you both have such soothing voices. That conversation between the two of you was like the little hearts in this pattern 💗

I love knitting alone. It brings me peace and let's my mind calm - especially since life has been crazy recently!
Morning all, may God’s blessing be pour on all! My beginner knitting is my alone time to relax after a long day. Thank you Chandi for all you do!❤
I love my alone time with my knitting and crocheting. Working with yarn calms me and helps me to solve any problems I may have. 😊😊

I like knitting and crocheting alone. It's my therapy time from life!
I love to knit and crochet alone...I count every stitch, every time. This shawl is so beautiful.
I like to knit or crochet alone especially with the harder projects. It is very relaxing to me. Thank you again for the great tutorial!

So many crafts - knitting, crocheting, embroidery - are all suited to individual activity AND group activity. So perfect 😀

i prefer to knit alone. it is my alone time and time to focus on the sensual simple pleasure of the fibers I am working with.
That yarn is beautiful and that pattern: my jaw actually dropped!
I tend to knit alone, but I have knit with my sister at times too. knitting is how I refuel so alone, but my husband is beside me doing his thing. 😊
I prefer to knit alone as my brain cant concentrate when I'm around other people! LOL
But I do love to crochet with other people tho.
I’m a solitary knitter. Hi from New Zealand. You have beautiful patterns and yarn. I love your tutorials and your emails are a highlight.
I love to knit alone. Especially when my kiddos are at school. It's like pampering myself to me time.
That's a great moment to take time for yourself 🩷
Such beauty ❤ I love having my days off from work and just sit alone in my warm house and knit away
I mostly knit alone, but when given the opportunity to knit with others, I love it!
I love your yarn and the beautiful patterns, and I appreciate the videos when you are showing us how work the pattern. Great demonstrations with inspirational music and your calming voice. Thank you for teaching us🙏🌻
I love to knit alone as it allows you to focus on your project more.
Ahhh peace!
I can knit with or without folks. I just love the experience of fiber play no matter who or what’s around.
lovely soft yarn and pattern!
i love to knit alone! it’s my alone time to unwind and relax, don’t want to get distracted by anyone.
I am fine knitting alone, but since losing my mom, I found a local sip n stich in my area. It's nice to meet other knitters and learn from them.
I prefer knitting alone, mostly because I usually knit at night. It's calming and helps me to relax.
I prefer to knit alone when I’m working on a more complicated pattern, but I also love to knit with friends! I love seeing what everyone is working on. It’s so inspiring, and enjoy everyone’s company.
Knitting is my meditation, so I prefer to knit alone. But sometimes, when I am learning a new skill knitting in a group is delightful.
I usually knit while watching TV. The pattern and yarn are amazing
I like to crochet and knit by myself in the peace and quiet. It definitely relaxes me. I do crafting a lot while watching UA-cam channels such as yours. All of you have taught me so much. You have become my friends.💕🧶💕🧶😢
How beautiful. I knit and crochet whenever and wherever I can. Thank you, Chandi for all of your videos.
My favorite color! Like most things, knitting alone or in a group, just depends on my mood. I often get so relaxed knitting alone, that I doze off. Nice pattern!!!
I like to crochet alone mostly because it helps me concentrate and I find calmness in myself.. it is truly “me” time.
I'm a lone knitter. I've always been a homebody and enjoy putting a book on tape or watching a great movie while knitting, crocheting, or weaving.
I always work my projects by myself in my living room with a video playing in the background so I have something good to listen to while working.
I have always knit alone. It is my time to de-stress, relax, and focus my thoughts on the simple pleasure of making something beautiful
Lovely pattern! I usually knit alone, but sometimes I do it while watching tv with my family.
