    I love rubbarb my mum used to give us a stick for a snack with a small pot of sugar 😋 I don't drink but I do enjoy mocktails and I had one with Rubbarb, Rose,and lime it was the most delightful drink that I have ever had

      Wow! I was feeling crappy over the teperature below -0 here in Alberta. It was +23 two days ago but temps won't be above 0 next week at all. Take care.

    This beautiful stalk and its tart flavor remind me of my childhood... when my mom or granny made food and used Rhubarb for its tart taste!

    Rhubarb is a great vegetable to grow as it pretty much looks after itself and doesn't need to be resown annualy. It will just die off and lie dormant until the time comes to schoot through the ground with bright red stalks. Rhubarb can be used in so many more ways than just stewed or poached. Add it to your favourite crumble recipe, make a tart, jam, chutney or simply wash, slice and freeze for the year ahead. Happy hungry! Cheers, Domenico.

    I grew up with it on my old basketball court as a kid. My mom let me pick a few rhubarb sticks. My mom would give me a small plastic bag of sugar to dip the rhubarb in. Man that taste of rhubarb was phenomenal.

    I harvested our first batch yesterday, so this is very timely! Anyone doubting that the west coast is the best coast now? 😉🌱 I made our spring favourite yesterday as well... Sorrel Soup! A true tonic and a sign that the garden is ready for seeding. Woohoo!
    (Just teasing, btw... I'm an England to east coast to Ontario transplant to beautiful British Columbia, and I am never looking back, except for fondly of course. East coasters are some of the loveliest, kindest, and most down to earth Canadians you can hope to meet. I have stories about emigrating to Port-Au-Basques from the UK that would have you in stitches! )

    Just keep in mind that Rhubarb is highest in oxalate - the biochemical that makes up kidney stones. If you have ever had one of those, steer clear. If not, it’s a gorgeous thing! Thank you, Jamie!!!

    I have never had or grown rhubarb. I am trying celery this fall, so maybe I can throw some rhubarb in the mix too! I have strawberries in, so I have the sweet angle covered.

    Thank you for showing me the rhubarb recipe for a few different ways of enjoying it. No one is covered other uses of rhubarb in any of the shows I watch on UA-cam. I thought I heard somewhere but they grow a lot of the rhubarb in England or the UK. And they grow it in underground no light like mushrooms.

      I live in the UK, my parents have two plants of rhubarb which grow outside in their garden. Neither are covered, or underground, but left in the open. they pick the stalks when ready and the plant regrows stalks ready to picked for the next rhubarb season.

      The ones that are grown in the dark are known as Forced Rhubarb, which apparently is just as good. You can find it in supermarkets here

    I work with a student organization in my country and time after time we do different activities. In May we are planning on having a cooking night, where the aim is to teach the students new easy recipes they can cook in their dorms.
    So, I had this idea to write you and ask if you can be part of this night.

      I had rhubarb pie at a dinner party once. It had a sugar crust and was served with a scoop of ice cream. I love it way more without strawberries.
