    These beads are delightful. Thank you so much for the freebies. I don't see a link to your Etsy shop. I'll dig further so I can purchase the 4th sheet. Thank you!

    I would like to try making beads, what tool do I need to roll the beads?

    • @RainbowLane
      @RainbowLane  Рік тому

      Hi Margarita, thank you for your question. To roll paper beads, you can use something as simple as a tooth pick, or a small gauge knitting needle, or a kebab stick. It depends how nimble your fingers are as to whether you get the knack of getting the bead strip neatly tucked in so you can start rolling and not have the bead slip as you roll. I started off that way but wasn’t brilliant at getting the bead started and so I started making my own tools for rolling paper beads. Ive been using my slotted paper bead rolling tools for years now and they are available in my Etsy shop in two sizes, 3mm and 5mm. The 5mm one is for making large hole beads. But if you are just starting out, try using a toothpick or 3mm knitting needle, you may find you have the knack and don’t need a tool. Let me know how you get on. Thank you for watching and reaching out.🙏

    I messed up and printed them on glossy 66 lb paper. Now they wont glue. Any suggestions on how to salvage them. Hate to waste the paper and ink after printing out all these beads. Thanks for these beautiful beads. They are spectacular and so brillant in color.

      Sorry to hear that Linda. Printing them on thicker paper will obviously give you a fatter bead and sometimes, fatter beads need more pressure on them for longer to get them to stick. What kind of glue did you use? I don’t recommend using wet glue on thick paper beads. If you used a solid glue stick like the one I use in the video, you’ll need to hold the end down longer on the thicker glossy paper until it has dried. When the beads are fatter, they tend to spring open easier. You can also try taking an emery board nail file and roughing up the inside of the bead strip at the end before you put the glue on. Hope that helps and thanks again. 💝

      @@RainbowLane Tried 3/4 kinds of glue including stick. Finally peeled off some of backing and it is sticking now. I love the beads, they are beautiful.

      Oh brilliant - I was going to suggest trying to peel the back off the glossy paper but wasn’t sure if it would wreck your strips. I’m pleased you like the beads - keep a look out as I am working on more to give away. 💕

    What sort of A4 paper are you using?

    • @RainbowLane
      @RainbowLane  2 роки тому

      Hi Sonia, I used 180gsm glossy photo paper for mine. I think that equates to 64ib in US paper weights but you will need to check that to make sure I’ve got that right. Many thanks for watching 🙏💕

      Hi Michelle - I finally made it into my workroom !🤗The paper I usually use is 180gsm Glossy. I get mine from a company called Photo Paper Direct - PPD. I don’t know where you are but I’m pretty sure they ship worldwide. I THINK 180gsm equates to 70lb in USA paper weight but you probably should check that. Hope that helps. And sorry for the delay - things are a little crazy at the moment. 😍💕
