Finally someone showing how to exactly cut the strips. All other creators that I have seen so far are expecting that you have a fancy cricut or something like that. When I tried to measure and cut by hand, I always endet up with a brainfart 😄. Now I got it 🎉 Thank you for this great tutorial. After work I'm gonna make pillow beats. Hugs from Germany.
I spent all day trying to make a template for this pattern. I tried cardboard, foam board, even plastic canvas! To say I’m mathematically challenged is an understatement. You just saved me hours of trying to make cuts I could follow. Thank you!
This is one of the BEST visual demos of how to cut the paper triangles and NO new tool needed to make these wonderful beads. Thanks for a great tutorial. 👍👍👍
I had never heard of Pillow Beads before. They're so cute and easy to make. The little Pillows look like you spent a lot of time weaving each one. I used 2 12X12 sheets of paper and the Pillow Beads aren't totally flat. I can't stop looking at the beads so pretty 😊. Thank you for sharing your video. Be Blessed, Safe and Healthy Grandma from Florida 🇺🇸
Thank you for sharing your knowledge of cutting the paper, I knew it had to do with math. I hate math, but I love making beads. You explained it perfectly, and I understood everything you said.
I'm a little late to the party... But... You are the Bead whisperer. TFS..... I just don't have enuf projects going... SOOOOOOOO I'll take on another. ♥♥♥♥♥♥😘😘😘😘😘
Shannon Green! You have explained and demonstrated the pillow bead in such a way that it was so easy. Thank you greatly. I appreciate you sharing this video, your time and talent. God Bless You!
Thanks you so , so much for the explanation of how to cut an isosceles triangle. I struggled with that a bunch. Love this video, you are a wonderful teacher.👍🏼❤️
I thoroughly enjoyed watching this. You're so engaging. My morning routine is very similar to yours except I feed the birds then watch and listen to them with the windows open and a pot of coffee. This has set me up for the day. 😊 "I have trust issues with glue sticks". Made me giggle. Thankyou for sharing. Looking forward to watching more from you.
I recently found your paper bead tutorials. I've not seen pillow beads before so thanks for a well explained tutorial. I live in England so made me smile when you mentioned Brexit :)

Duh! I’m such a screwball! LOL I can’t tell you how much paper I’ve messed up trying to cut it.....don’t ask me why. lol But you helped me know exactly how to cut my paper correctly now. I love the look of the square beads and it adds a piece of “unique “ to my beads that make people ask, “how did you do that!” :) Thank you for your clear instructions! ❤️
Shannon these are so stinking cute!!! I need less work time and more crafting time. This was an extremely easy tutorial to follow along I can't wait till I have a little time so I can craft away!!! Stay crafty.❤xo💜xo💙xo💛xo💖xo💚
This has been the best tutorial in explaining how to cut the paper, especially for a dense person like me 😂 , I also like that you used different colored paper it really showed the layers of the bead . Thank you so much .
I love making beads. Haven’t ever seen any like these before...thanks for sharing how to make them! I really like the smaller rounded ones - they look like M&Ms!!! 😂❤️🔆
Shannon, it was kind of obvious that you were a fellow southern gal, but I didn't know that we were neighbors! I'm in Memphis, just across the river... Hi neighbor! Lol! Thanks for the bead tutorial!
these look wonderful Shannon - i must give it a try (again) lol - this looks so familiar - i think i've made them before - ever since i saw that doll head dragging along on the beach i've lost my memory - lol lol - thanks for showing this to us - hugs xx
If you have right triangles that you want to use, you just need to trim the bottom (wide end) to make it into an isosceles triangle. If you laid it out on the mat you are using, you would just put the tip at the half-inch mark and the other end with the right angle against the inch line. The right side will be longer. Just cut across the bottom so that both sides are equal. It won't take that much off.
Hello Shannon, glad you're back. Don't know if you have gotten any of my messages, but you didn't miss much at our recent festival here where I live. It definitely would have been more entertaining if you had been here. I hope you are doing well. Take care and God bless. Sincerely Becky B from Arkansas
If you take your right triangles and snip off the larger end at an angle, you can turn them into isosceles triangles. That's how I've always done them. I'm not much for dealing with patterns.
Good Afternoon Shannon, how'd you make Pillows Neads? I love them.👋🤣💖💖💖💖 Shannon I've subscribed to your Channel cause I'm very interested in your kind of Beads Thank You For Sharing👋🤣👍💖💖
Shannon, it was recently pointed out to me that my remarks could be considered rude, I love your chat and your thoughts, your projects have their own file in my saves; in real life we could be friends. I said "Bob's your uncle" in a post to you; it is a silly saying one says when they mean "there ya go" or "well done" , I like "down and dirty", or "zip zap`. Please know I am a fan and would never insult you. Keep up the great work and WEAR YOUR MASK.
I took no offense at all Lynne but it was very thoughtful of you to clarify. I sure do appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment and I promise my mask is on my face every time I leave my house! :)
Hi Shannon, thank you for showing this pillow bead tutorial, but how can these be hung onto anything, could you please do a video that shows how you put holes into them, so they can be hung onto things?
Very cool!! I'm always looking for ways to use scrap strips. Love your beads, how would you use them afterwards? Glad someone understands Brexit cos we don't over this side of the pond!!! 😂😂😂
You made cutting the paper and making the beads perfectly clear. Thank you, as I have trouble with measuring and cutting the paper. May I ask, where did you get your cutter? I have a guillotine type cutter and it is difficult to line up the paper and it scares me (LOL) as the blade is very sharp. Thank you again. Love making these pillow beads.
if you line the right edge of paper on the one inch mark on the right side of the cutting grove you never have to measure, jennybelly has a very concise video on how this is done. i love it; quick and dirty and Bobs your uncle

Do you seal and glaze them the same as your other paper beads?
Love your video, as always!
Yep, I treat them exactly the same.

Hi Shannon, thank you for showing this pillow bead tutorial, but how can these be hung onto anything, could you please do a video that shows how you put holes into them, so they can be hung onto things?
They actually have holes in the corners that you can use. In the video at about 18:30 you can see me putting an awl through the corner holes.

you can just cut right angle triangles, and then cut the wide end on an angle to get an isosceles, it's a bit less fiddly.
So what do you do now put two holes through hold it with toothpick so you can epoxy and make buttons?
I don’t make buttons from these, I use them as beads.
are u gona glaze the pillow beads if so how and what kind would be best?
I use either a brush-on varnish such as Minwax Polycrylic or I dip them in Minwax Wood Hardener.
In the olden days, when I made about 2 million beads, I cut each bit by hand with scissors... those were the days....lol
OMG I can't even imagine!
È bellissimo si possono usare come bottoni grazie
That's a great idea, thank you for watching!
Very cool!! I'm always looking for ways to use scrap strips. Love your beads, how would you use them afterwards? Glad someone understands Brexit cos we don't over this side of the pond!!! 😂😂😂
LOL THe size and shape of these beads would make good charms to dangle from journal spines.
Thanks for video.. u didnt show the hole of the beads... and can we varnish the beads by wood varnish
Yes wood varnish works great.

How do you string these beads?
Is their any jewelry ideas for these pillow beads? cant find any
I've not seen any but I think they'd make beautiful pendants or earrings.
Ive done this tape at work but just a square. Usually when i am talking to a doc about orders more of a fiddly type action. If only i had realized.
You were arting and didn't know it!
Shannon, grab the app Wakelet and you can save the posts and links you want to get back to later.
Great idea thanks!
