It's mind-boggling that the two girls' parents couldn't foresee that Flynn's defense team (or studio PR department) wouldn't utterly destroy the girls' reputations! Yes, the girls were underage, but let's face it, they were star-struck and stupidly put themselves into Flynn's bedroom! And where were the parents? How the hell does a 15 year old girl from Nebraska end up unaccompanied at a Hollywood party, and then Flynn's bed?!

I do have a book by one of his wives and frankly it scared me to death as it painted flynn as drug crazed and heavy handed (I don't mean he hit women because he didnt) lover. The problem in the height of his fame was he was irresistible to women and he took advantage of that as much as he could.

Errol wasn't the only famous actor who chased young women, he just got caught OR set up (with the rape case). In fact one of the girl statements were nothing but lies...and they proved it. there was a lot more too it than just Errol taking advantage. He may have had many flaws but he wasn't a bad man.

There were political motivations stirred into the mix. Politics also equates to money! Errol was also just another actor in the civil arena directed by the city and maybe state of California vs the studios. The girls were stupid to allow themselves to be exploited and dropped like hot potatoes after it was all said and done! Oh well reality is the fact of Errol's wicked wicked ways and it's all caught up in the drama of it all.....Yes he burned his candle at both ends but to say he was doing it all because he was a loser?? I think he enjoyed life of luxury and all out fun over the life a biologist and that my friends is the choice he made!

This has been a fascinating documentary, but the information included about his trial has raised more questions for me than it has answered. The writer Tedd Thomey led me to believe that the girls not only fell below the age consent but suffered violent assaults. He said there was medical evidence showing they were bruised and had their skin torn off. Wouldn't that be a 1st or 2nd degree rape case as opposed to statutory rape? I am not here to pass a judgment on whether or not Flynn was guilty or innocent, it just sounds like Thomey and Betty Hansen have described two different crimes.

Errol Flynn was a damaged man.
He was addicted to smoking, &
alchol & drug use maybe even sex.
He was a bad boy, charming & dealing with his inner demons.
A gifted actor whom led a hard life & his body paid dearly for it.
Today that behavior especially sleeping with ( was it consenting sex or rape?) would not be tolerated.
Knowing what I know now I would say he had self destructive habits due to childhood trauma or hurts & was in pain (excessive drinking & drug use) self medicating his pain. I feel empathy for him.
hurting young women is never acceptable.
His body was that of a 75 year old man at 50. He was very hard on himself. 🙏 RIP I hope your soul has found peace.

Errol Flynn was born in Tasmania ( a State of Australia), I read he was a Australian Patrol Officer in New Guinea for a short period, before going to the USA. I went to New Guinea in the late 60's inquiring about that sort of position. The blokes ( Patrol Officers), I met in Moresby and Lae told me it is over forget about it. He must have had a adventurous mind - that country was very frontier, even in the time I was there. After New Guinea became Independent (I think 1975), a lot of the Patrol Officers went to Places such as the Philippines. I thought he died in 1959. I remember as a Officeboy on my lunch break in Sydney, walking past the Church ( C of E), alongside Sydney Town Hall where a Memorial Service was held in his honour. I stopped and watched cars pulling with politicians/dignities alighting.
One article I recall reading on Errol Flynn stated that two girls asked to use his swimming pool, to which he apparently agreed. They went to the dressing room then came out and walked past him ( sitting in a chair), in the bollocky ( naked). True or False - I do not know.....
I enjoyed his movies and still enjoy them now, more so than a lot of the movies produced now.
Let him, or her who has not sinned - throw the first stone.....
