If they can nail the fish behaviors and fishing styles, (like bottom fishing, and have some species being more aggressive or picky) have big fish actually be rare ( for example not catching a 55 inch muskie on the first cast) and have fish actually fight like they should irl( a 10 inch crappie should not be able to pull out yards of drag and line like a Chinook salmon can) then this'll be a hit. And of course as little bugs as possible would be great.
Edit- Certain fish should be relating to structures or habitat with increased numbers in areas where fish feed or stage like around weeds, stumps, etc. That way it doesn't get boring catching a fish every cast in the middle of nowhere, but you can catch plenty of fish if you can figure out a pattern in a fishy spot.
If they actually put more than 1 fish in the water that would be great. God knows finding animals in The Hunter is like pulling hens teeth.
A big fish first cast is fine(nothing stopping you catching a monster first bait) but like you said as long as their rare and not ever 2nd, 3rd cast
I wonder if they’ll let us have the chance to have a fish tank coupled with the usual trophies
if this game is even half as good as it looks it has potential to be probably the greatest fishing game of all time

Hey Risky, I'm a fanboy by the way. But, I hope this goes well with the Angler. Yes, COW is buggy as shit. They have done ok at fixing these issues. But with Angler surely they have been working on this for quite sometime so bugs won't be an issue.

This game looks awesome. However, I'm much more into hunting than I am fishing, so I'm still gonna play theHunter Call of the Wild a lot more than this.
they should definitely let you taxidermy trophy fish and put them in you’re cotw lodge👍🏾👍🏾
I do like fishing but I’m gonna wait till I see the good reviews before I pick it up. I know that woth is gonna be worth my time and ultimate hunting will also be worth my time

They should fix the broken trophies first
if the respawn mechanism is as bad as the hunter then this game will suck. at least in the hunter you can see when your zones aren't spawning properly. with the angler you can be fishing empty lakes and not even know
I’m not going to trust it. Rapala has been fun for me 80 percent of the game completed. Love that game.
I can just tell it’s going to suck. EW makes it look good but guess what it’s not as good as you think. It’s not… Just look at the guy holding the bluegill. He looks like he’s on crack. That tells everything I need to know

They need to make a ‘thehunter: open world’ with hunting, fishing, camping, offroading, hell even things like a pool table/darts in a cabin/bar.
I’m never gonna get my friends to buy a game for just hunting or just fishing… but an outdoors sim… definitely!
