Wayne, I just want to say thank you for providing such amazing, POSITIVE content. There is so much negativity in the world and it is so nice to know that when I watch one of your videos I'm going to feel better when I'm done. Thank you so much for that!
@Wayne - Loving this series! I trust you watched Johnny's first vid in his new series of Hua Hin options for expats. Shows off the great places to eat around there. You'll never run out of super places to eat there, if you choose to stay. Cheers 🍻
Thanks Steve mate. I have to admit, I've not watched any Hua Hin vlogs for a while before this trip. I do this , so I get a real first impression. I love Jonny's channel though, and I will kick myself when I do watch and see some places I should have went 🤣
I moved down from China Mai a couple of weeks back and loving it here. Can’t beat a wander along a quiet beach with the sun rising ❤ try La Casita condos, amazing! Nice to see Farangs with their well chosen wives enjoying retirement and her enjoying being back in Thailand. My wife is happier now than she has ever been! Fewer stray dogs too which is a bonus. Hopefully bump into you soon
"side trip life" is uniqye in that you never see the hosts face. Very pleasant to listen and to watch. Always positive with a good feeling. And, like yours, the real Thailand. One of my favorites. Forgot ..He bought a used car to get around. As i mentioned, some amazing places down the road.
The fact that you walked by a monk during a sunrise stroll on the beach may have sold me completely on Hua Hin. Right after mentioning tasty ladies no less😂
Wayne it’s bringing me back memories that walk to the beach I love the sand here it’s so white I love it here I like it there my favourite place it’s so white the sand I really loved it here with my two children
Excellent vlog Wayne. I really liked it. The beach was nice and quiet and beautiful. The shopping mall was also nice. I noticed you said you couldn't sleep in your room due to the noise of the traffic outside. You must be a light sleeper because I would have no trouble sleeping there! Thanks for showing us around Wayne. Looking forward to the next vlog 😃👍🏼
Thanks Mate! Hua Hin has been great, such a chilled vibe. The hotel was really good, it was just the location. It has some good reviews. If you are a heavy sleeper, it wouldn't be a problem. I could feel lack of sleep after the second night though. Cheers man, more vlogs in the way 👍

Cha Am gets overlooked by Cha Am, but it's more affordable and can be a fun weekend stay.
Nice Wayne! Look forward to arrive. I also to your first expressipn - retired with thai-wife😂 But about 40% of the tourists in Hua Hin are Thais, many coming on holliday from BKK. I am just waiting for your next videos. 😊
Thanks mate! haha yes, lot's of retired married couples. I might have to move down myself. A lot of people from BKK yes. Thanks for the support, appreciate it.
Beach isn't crowded as you're a month away from high season. The fact that the big hotels occupy a lot of the direct beach access is a bit off putting (but great if you're staying in one of these) Looking forward to arriving in Bkk Oct 5th. then onto CM for family visit. 😊
Exactly, even though I don't think much changes in October, but that's me with my North hat on. I don't know about the south. I know what you mean about the Hotels along the front 👍 Hioe to see you around Chiang Mai 👌
You need the next hotel to be off the beaten track mate. I'm guessing a few stiff scotches wouldn't dull the pain of the noise either seeing a couple of small Leos didn't do the trick. But for that the room looks good value. It would be OK if you had a good sort up there and were hard at it for hours I guess 😂🤣😂 I'd have been down that beach at 6.05am renting a deck chair and crashing out to catch up on the lost zzzzs but you had a video to make. Have fun mate. Nice little appetizer this. Beautiful place. Looking forward to the upcoming videos from Hua Hin. 🤩 The ferry no longer operates mate. They stopped it when the Covid lock downs started or thereabouts and it appears to have permanently ceased operation. Chai was looking at using it some time ago and found it had been suspended.
I moved on from this gaff mate, got a nice little quiet pad 5 minutes away. No comment on the sort mate 😉. Hua Hin is great, love it. I wish the ferry was on, I would have went over for sure. Thanks mate.
ha ha Pattaya has been invaded by the man with the war helmet and pretty sure he is still there. He uploaded a great video yesterday where he visited English muso Barry Upton who lives there in Pattaya and has his studio there. Yes Sean King is on tour. It'd be fun if you happened to walk into him again @@WalkAboutWayne
@@stevens8785 I have been catching some of Sean's Pattaya vlogs. We'll meet up again sometime. I was going to Pattaya, so I would have gave him a shout, but my plans have changed now. Thanks man.
Hi Wayne. Loving your Hua Hin videos. We were in Hua Hin for a month in January. We stayed at La Casita condos. Lovely place and we got a very good deal. Best ones are looking outwards, the ones looking into the pool/gardens can be noisy. We found Night market, Tamarind market and Cicada market nice enough but touristy. The best markets where the Thais shop are Chatchai - a day time market lots of it undercover so nice to wander in when it's hot. Pae Mai Tuesday market is fab. Great big market with a big food court and live music too. Dinosaur Ruam Suk and Bon Gai are worth a look too. A great food court is Ban Khun Por. Very cheap (600 ml Leo 65 bhat) lots of choice from the many food stalls and great live music. So much to see and do in Hua Hin. Can't wait to go back. It was very busy when we were there, lots of folks on the beaches but as they are so big it was fine. Loved your Chang Mai stuff too. It was very helpful to watch before our visit there. Thank you.
Thank you for liking the videos Christine, much appreciated. Yes, I'm really liking Hua Hin, it's a great place to be. I've been to a most of the places you mentioned and have videos coming of some. Thanks again 🙏

Thanks for the tour, Wayne! Definitely has a settle down with a bird vibe. 😂 I always thought I’d like the city life better but ya never know.. being near a beach might change my mind. Be interesting to see in the next vids if it grows on you more or you miss old faithful CM.
Good video it's great to get out for a walk along the beach first thing in the morning. I think you should add some ear plugs to your traveling kit they do come in very handy sometimes 😎👍
Nice video Wayne , the bike is cool, if you play background music the traffic noise improves. A lot of noisy areas in Thailand.! Hua Hin is on the must see list .
Well call me Larry mate, cuz I’m ‘appy as! I also walked down that beach road to that same beach entrance to sat foot on my first Thailand beach many moons ago - sky looked amazing, actually felt a tear in the eye as I realised how much I missed the place. 😎 Lol .. though never to the other side of the Kao Takiap in 22+ years & you went there on day 1 😂😝😎👍
Ahh nice one Simo mate, hope it brought back some memories for you, while it was making new ones for me. It was great to be down in the beach that early. I'm starting to fall for Hua Hin. That walk to the end knackered me out though 🤣. Thanks mate
Seems like a nice place for a vacation, but I'd prefer living in Chiang Mai. I like the small city life and the mountains over the beach long term. Plus, Chiang Mai, if I can put it right, is more Thai.
Hua Hin is more of a weekend town. The wealthy Thai families visit on the weekends and when there is a festival the town fills up. Beaches are empty during the week. That area by the boat dock is Kao Takiab beach which will have many people on a Saturday. two of my condo's are right by that ferry dock and they are popular for 40-65 years olds.
Wayne. Didn't you check out reviews before booking a room next to a traffic sewer? Looking forward to seeing your next digs. That mall at the end looked like a more modern version of kad suan kaew shopping center. I'm a ten minute walk to our local beach which is great if you can handle the stingers and crocs.
Should drag the mattress into the bathroom LOL. Haha Farang Wallies. I should be in Chiang Mai at the end of October. I will start my life there and travel around to find places I would like to live. Have a number of places in mind.
I take a look around the Centara in a coming vlog. I found the Buddha and the entrance to Monkey Mountain in the end. I had to go back again to find it 🤣
Don't forget Wayne, there's a foreign quote for all condos, Thai buyers have the majority, alot of these places will be empty till the w ends or holidays, that's when mainly Bangkokians will occupy their condos. When I was there 10yrs ago you could see during the week condos in darkness, come the weekend lights on.
I was grinning at your enthusiasm at being 1st time at beach in TH . I would be like a kid in a candy shop . Loving the vlogs Wayne . That concrete jungle condo area in Khao Takiab is not where the retirees live as it's chocka with Russian holidaymakers & families with kids high season . Looking forward to your forthcoming take on Cha Am .
Cheers Paul mate. Yes, I'm pretty sure it is my 1st beach in Thailand. No expats in that area, really? I met a bunch of German and British who had condos there. I had a really good chat with them. I guess it's prime holiday location to though. Cheers mate.
in some hotels they help you out when the noise gets too mush , you could get a room on the back of the hotel or a room without a window , though not having a person sitting at a desk could be a problem last i checked the ferry is indeed not running anymore , think it whent out of business during covid
Hey man! Free breakfast, I didn't know about that!. Hope all is well me ol' mate. Might see you on the travels, I got a few more trips planned. If I see we're around the same place, I'll get hold of you. Take its easy buddy.
great great video....chilled beach life...😎❤ will you look inside any of these condo places for the long term rental prices? Hua Hin and nearby areas are top on my long term stay list.
I love this 150 click mate. They are so much better then the 125s. It felt so much more solid and handles higher speeds a lot easier then my 2019 125cc. Because it's smaller and lighter then the Aerox or PCX, with virtually the same engine, it was like a little rocket.
I stayed in the sunshine hostel (it's more like a hotel than hostel) nothing fancy but clean, cheap and quiet. Worth a look if you still need accommodation.
Are the condos/apartments around Thailand fairly soundproof? I am assuming that just the cheapest hotels would have thin walls/windows. After living in rural Alabama on a farm, I imagine switching to the condo life might be tough for me.
That's one of the main problems in Thailand. The walls are paper thin. They have started building more and more soundproofing condos here, but it's best to do some research on places before moving in.
Hua Hin is not that much to the south, you still have a LOT to discover south of it :) And many tourist have had problems with water scooter scams and had to pay money to get rid of the sellers and the corrupt police. But I also like Hua Hin, the houses in some quarters make me think of Greece or so.
Love Hua Hin but for a break. Not long term. I rather stay at Samui or Phangan. But everyone has different opinions and feelings with city or town. Be in Samui in 2 weeks Wayne. For 6 months. As one of your first subscriber we should have a couple of beers at least if you do come that way. Take care mate!
@@WalkAboutWayne They are decently comfortable. But you do feel that they are there. You can choose between silicon and foam tip, so you can find a size and material that fits you the best. Worth the shot, they are reusable and not terribly expensive if they end up working for you.
@@WalkAboutWayne I wouldn't want to live there, only be there when they burn the fields, then be there for a week max, there are many other places that are also delicious to be ..chiang mai I will always live there
For no more than what you paid per night I would have been searching for new room the next morning. Don't like to waste money but your nights sleep is worth more than the price of that room. Take it easy man!
Nice to see you're out on a little excursion But don't tell me you're in southern Thailand You're only halfway from Chiang Mai to the Malaysian border (Sadao) You're only 800 km south of Chiang mai (by road) We did a road trip down to Malaysia last winter We spent the night in Hua Hin the first night.
I think there is a ferry from Pattaya. But maybe to the island. Big scuffle between operators for tourists. Govt. stepped in to reorganize. Anyway. "Johnny there is something.."" has vds there . And "Side trip life" has amazing vds. down south of Hua Han. Beautiful and cheap towns.
The beach is really beautiful. Hua Hin seems like a very quiet peaceful place (except at night in your room with the traffic noise 🤭) I hope the next room you move onto is a bit less noisy 😉 Looking forward to seeing part 3 of the series. I have never been there either so it's great to see places for the first time. As always thanks for sharing and hope you are having a great time 🤗🤗
Absolutely it does Wayne, I spent 6 months every year there from 1998, saw it developing, there was no Market Village shopping mall, just a very small one on the main police station crossroads. Scandinavians started buying up housing developments just out of town.
The ferry from Hua Hin to Pattaya stopped in 2019 afaik. The reason there are soo many monkeys there, is that you are walking next to monkey mountain ... surprise surprise :p
Yes! I could feel the heat once the sun came out. It was cool the day I arrived. It soon heated up though. The breeze down to the beach was nice though.

Yep, but it's south for me buddy, when I live in the North .
Nice one mate, if I'm down that way, we can meet up. Hope all is well buddy.
Get yourself a pair of Loop Earplugs for the stays where you are unlucky with the noise.
Do recommend them a lot.
I've never been able to sleep with earplugs, but I've never tried loop ones.
@@WalkAboutWayne They are decently comfortable. But you do feel that they are there.
You can choose between silicon and foam tip, so you can find a size and material that fits you the best.
Worth the shot, they are reusable and not terribly expensive if they end up working for you.
heard alot of good things about Hua Hin... high on my list of possible homes..
It's a great place!
Danang or Hua Hin, which is better? and which is cheaper??@@WalkAboutWayne
That's a tough one mate. I would want to be in Thailand, so I would choose Hua Hin for living , but for the cheapest, I'd have to give that to DaNang.
I feel ya, its a tough choice between two amazing countries both with awesome food & people @@WalkAboutWayne
Missing Hua Hin Man! I slept at Sofia hotel last time. Great location and very very quiet.Just saying :-)
Thanks man! I moved on from here to a quieter place . Hope you can get back to Hua Soon 👌
I think Bill was right, 3 mths bored shitless, back to Chiang Mai, The Rose of the North👌
@@randyirvine5858 Randy's not a fan of Hua Hin 🤣
@@WalkAboutWayne Never been mate🤣
Next time you better stay at Terminal Hua Hin soi 88. Cheap, big rooms, pool, gym, wifi and very quiet at night.
Nice! I'll take a note of it 👍
Wayne, How do you like Hua Hin compare to ChangMai in terms of cost, conveniences, quality of life in general?
I will have a couple of videos coming on this subject buddy. Towards the end of the series 👍👍
Fellow u tuber having fun with nina has a fantastic guest house in hua hin. The tongmee guest house. 2 star and great prices and she is a lovely lady
I follow Nina, but never knew she had a guest house. I would have booked for a night or 2.
@WalkAboutWayne if you look back at her videos she shows you her guest house. It looks lovely
believe also that it is out of season enough to walk the streets until December
Yep, still low season.
@@WalkAboutWayne I wouldn't want to live there, only be there when they burn the fields, then be there for a week max, there are many other places that are also delicious to be ..chiang mai I will always live there
hey wayne, do you know if the ferry boat still goes from hua hin across to pattaya
Not running mate 👍
For no more than what you paid per night I would have been searching for new room the next morning. Don't like to waste money but your nights sleep is worth more than the price of that room.
Take it easy man!
I can't be losing 12 quids 🤣. Thanks mate 🙏
True, but southern Thailand for me . Thanks 👍👍
Good on ya mate.
Nice one John mate.
I would have got on that ferry , if it was running. I've not heard of Side Trip Life. I have to look at that channel 👍
Is the ferry to Patts running?
Don't think so, it's been stopped for a while .
Hub Hua Hin 57 hotel I stayed at very nice and good price .
Nice one mate 👍
Hua Hin was better for me when the ferry to Pattaya was running
I probably would have got on that ferry if it was running. Are they going to start it again?
@@WalkAboutWayne Not sure
first time on the beach in 3 years in TH wild, you must travel more around thailand
Yep, first time on a Thai beach if memory serves me correct. Much longer than 3 years, on and off buddy.
As always thanks for sharing and hope you are having a great time 🤗🤗
I never seen so few people in a vlog like this since covid. It came across as a bit of a ghost town
It's really quiet. I'm guessing it gets rammed in the high season.
Absolutely it does Wayne, I spent 6 months every year there from 1998, saw it developing, there was no Market Village shopping mall, just a very small one on the main police station crossroads. Scandinavians started buying up housing developments just out of town.
Google Pattaya ferries. Not to Hus Hin. But to some islands and even Cambodia.
Nice! cheers.
You should try Cham-am beach?
Coming up soon buddy!
The ferry from Hua Hin to Pattaya stopped in 2019 afaik. The reason there are soo many monkeys there, is that you are walking next to monkey mountain ... surprise surprise :p
That's right 👌👌
The ultimate expat dream - an elusive quarry!
I wouldn't go that far . Hua Hin is nice 🙂
Wayne come over to cha-am lovely beach I'll show you around it only 30kl from Hua-hin 👍
Already been mate. Vlog coming soon 👍
Aww Wayne that isn’t good cheap but know sleep mate awful so your be finding somewhere quiet 🤫 😂
Moved onto somewhere more quiet 👍
Hey Wayne, I want to make the move to Hua Hin for good. Let me know please if I could ask you a few questions. Thank you brotha!
Hi buddy, I've only been in Hua Hin a short time myself. But I'll help if I can. Probably best to to contact on my IG or Facebook buddy.
That you'd "never been to a beach in Thailand", is kind of ridiculous, mate. Welcome to the land of the living.
I wouldn't go that far, but I thought I would have crossed paths with a beach here. Cheers buddy 👍
❤
🙏🙏❣️
I will move there one day from Chiangmai the only thing that concerns me is it gets ridiculously hot there in the hotter months
Yes! I could feel the heat once the sun came out. It was cool the day I arrived. It soon heated up though. The breeze down to the beach was nice though.
Chiang Mail that much cooler?
Very peng Wayne!
Thank you Shirley ♥️
ooops, just heard your comment to say you dont think its running mate haha
👌👌

Thank you! Yes, some great sea food markets in Hua Hin.
I can imagine this road would be a nightmare in the room🤣
If you was a heavy sleeper, it would be ok. I 'd wake up if a pin dropped though 🤣
Please. Hoo-a Hin. 😊
That's what I said buddy 👍
Poontang and Poonanny
You got it 👌
Watch your trotters😊

For 12 quid I'd move on.... Its worth it for a decent kip
Moved on now buddy.
Farang walleys in speedos 🤣🤣🤣.. they are all here in Pattaya.
🤣🤣 I thought they must be hiding somewhere .
Even with earplugs can’t sleep?
I reckon with ear plugs and I'd you're a heavy sleeper , you would be fine.
Goinn Goinn .........gone.😇
Hahaha that's about right mate.
Yes, Hua Hin! Buy, are there men? Lol 😂💋🙄😉😂
