Meanwhile, us reloaders get the hind teat with availability of powders, bullets, brass and especially primers for large rifles.

Love the H4350! My favorite too! I’m running H4350 on a 9.3X62 Mauser, 7x57 Mauser, 7 SAUM, 257 Roberts, 6mm Creedmoor, and 6.5 PRC. It’s an awesome versatile powder! I need to try and develop my loads for the 308win so that way I can see if I can stop using Varget.. On the 6CM I running it with 108, 109, 112 and 115 Berger’s almost with the same loads getting very low and consistent sd. Also it’s very accurate on my 7SAUM with the 180, 183 and 184 gr bullets. Super low sd as well. Impressively accurate on the 7mm Mauser with 140-180 gr bullets, 257 Roberts from 100-135 gr bullets and 9.3X62 Mauser with 250-285 bullets.

Was using H-4350 41.5 grs BR2 primers excellent groups less than.05 MOA 5 Shot groups which i normally do on all my rifles..I had a few pounds of IMR 4451 which I had great success also..same 41.5 grains seating depth 20 thou off the lands with H ELD match 140 gr..Just changed my primers to Fed 210 Match..Also in the 0.5 MOA range Both powders have done well for me..H4350 The Enduro IMR 4451.
I started with IMR 4350 in my 7 Rem Mag years ago. As it became hard to get, switched to H4350. Great consistant powder. Running 62gr behind 145gr BTSP
I’ve been running 41.7gr H4350 with 140 ELDMs Peterson brass and BR2s in my 6.5 Creedmoor comp guns and it has been an unbelievably accurate load in 3 barrels now. Each barrel preferred a node right around there +/- 0.2gr. I’ve gotten single digit SDs and velocities around 2,800 FPS. On a few occasions i have taken this out to a mile.
Shooting a 6XCII with 39.0gr of H4350 and 105 Berger VLD Target consistently around the 1/4 inch 9shot groups. I've trusted H4350 in a number of cartridges now and it has always preformed. I want to try that StaBall 6.5 in a 6.5 Creed..... plz restock
I just started using H4350 since I recently acquired a 6.5 Creedmoor. My first tests produced .3 groups out of a new barrel. The load I used is 140 ELD-M, 40.3 H4350, CCI 34 primer, and Alpha brass. I haven’t had as much luck with it in 7-08, but I’m not worried since I have 12 lbs. of Big Game and a pile of 140 BT’s that get .2 groups.
Hey i have the same set up. H4350, eld-m 140s and cci#34 nato primers as well. Good solid brass. Ive only went up to39 gr but more accurate as the velocity increases. Seen this with other people on youtube as well. Any advice on a sweet spot or is that your only test? With 39 gr i get just close to 1” groups usually 3 at .5 and 2 flyers.
Bought a pound of h4350 years ago. Didn't use much before switching to Vihtavouri powders. Expensive stuff, but really consistent and not as fouling in my guns... I might have to break out that h4350 again and do some more experimenting.
Recent subscriber here, and while UA-cam might push your longer projects more, these shorts where you discuss all the things from all the suppliers are real gold.
I use H4350 for my 30.06, and 300 WinMag. Using the 168 grain TTSX Barnes bullet for both. Both perform well, but for some reason my WinMag really came alive with this powder. 75 grains is at 3320 with an sd of 11. Browning X-Bolt 26” barrel. And for some reason the recoil isn’t that bad? I only get 2870 out of my 30.06 with 57.5, but recoil feels similar.?? 30.06 is about 4 ounces lighter and has a 24” barrel (Rem 700). Anyway, it’s my favorite powder.
My PRS load for my 6GT is 33.8gr H4350 and Berger 109 hybrids about 2850fps and SD's around 5fps. Shoots .2" groups still after 2400 rounds on the barrel.
I’m doing load development for my savage 110 .270 win. I’ve looked up load data for my components. Not a lot out there for my components. But there is some. I chose H4350 because I can get plenty of it and it’s temp friendly. I also chose it because I can use it in many of my hunting different cartilages. So far I’ve been very satisfied with H4350 powder handling. Now I’m getting ready to range test the five .270 cartilages I loaded yesterday. I’m expecting good results. I’ve studied and purchased the equipment a little bit at the time. Now it’s time to see what I’ve learned. Thanks Gav and friends for being part of the cyber reloading school.
I was finally able to stock up on this and Varget. Did you ever do more work with Staball. Im still using that for my 6.5 creedmoor over H4350 - Im running 42.5g @ 2870 on a 140g ELD-M out of a 26 inch barrel. Using Varget and H4350 for my 6mm and my x47s though.
Still waiting on a video with classic hunting cartridges and H-4350 runs well in the 30-06, the 270, and even the 7mm08. Does Gavin know about the 270 and 7mm08 or is he to young to be familiar with those cartridges? FWIW, my 338 Win Mag loves all three 4350 powers with 250 and 225 grain bullets.
Nick, what bullet do you run for you 7mm-08 that 4350 likes? I"ve tried Berg. 140 VLDH and 150 CH. Neither one was really great. But when I tried Varget with the 140, groups dropped to in the 3's, 4's consistently.
In this video & article we mention several classics: 30-06, 6mm Remington, 25-06, and the 375 H&H. Last August we posted an article & video about hunting with the 30-06 using H4350. Bear, elk, pronghorn & mule deer. Yes, we know & use many of the classic cartridges. I do think we'll have to test a 270 Win someday, so far I've got it bracketed with the 25-06 & 30-06 rifles.
Great video. I started using H4350 in my 6.5 CM AR10 with 22" barrel. 140 ELDm 41.5 at 2698 fps. For a gas gun it does pretty good with less than .68" groups at 230yds. My savage elite 6.5CM 24" does well with 40.2 of H4350 with the 140eldm at 2720 fps. Because of your staball video an seeing it available now, I had to try some of that. It does well with the 147gn eldm with 43.6gn @ 2847 😲 in the savage. I have to play with it in the AR now :-)
I loved h4350, then staball dropped and I tried it when couldn’t get 4350. I like staball but I’m going back to 4350. Just seemed easier to develop loads with. Staball was kinda picky for me.
Interesting video. Thanks for posting this. How does IMR 4350 compare to H4350? I just picked up two lbs of the IMR to load 180 gr bullets in 30-06. I usually use either Varget or H4064 for 150 gr bullets
I've been using the H4350 in my Savage BA10/110 6.5 CM for about two years. I use the Hornady 143 gr ELD-X and 40.6 grains of the H4350. I get good and low ES and average around 2,750 fps. It is now my go-to powder.
I just bought my first H4350 ever. Neat story. But I have loaded 7mm RemMags since mid 80s. I mainly used IMR4350 & IMR4831 with all bullet weights. I started using H1000 & Retumbo. But I worked up a sweet whitetail load with IMR4451 @ 2825. I have a "ladder test" worked up with some different bullets using IMR4451 & H4350 to compare the 2. Eager to get velocities, SDs, & groups. Thank you all.
@@andrewowens6754 I am sure it is fantastic. I landed on the 69.5 grain of Retumbo and 162 ELDX. I got 2950ish average low SD/ES submoa. I intend to use these for elk out west next year or two. My whitetail load with 4451 or H4350 is still great for them. Enjoy, stay safe and happy hunting.
A little late to this discussion, My shooting platform is a Sako Tecomate chambered in .300 WSM. I have been loading Burger 168 VLD at 64gr's for about 10 years now. FPS is almost 3100. This set up is amazing. My farthest hunting shot was 460 yards on a Elk in Wyoming. Late October. I loaded and slighted in around August. No change in performance, no complaints.
56.5 h4350 168 bthp mk in 3006 load I good in my father's 700 rem BDL. Shoots good performs good. We hunt also with that load and it will kill about anything that gets in it's path so I think I'll stick with it.
I use h4350 in my 6.5 creed as well as reloader 16 and 23. I just got some of the imr enduron powers I’m going to try. The 6.5 staball works better in my 7mm-08 with 160 grain bullets.
Great video - now if I could just find some to buy!!!!! I have literally been looking for 3 months now!!!!!! I was just able to get some Winchester 6.5 Staball but I am still in search of the elusive H4350.
I used shootingbot in stock website to get powder and primer in stock notifications. I just got two pounds of H4350 a couple weeks ago. It has been coming in stock about once every 10 days or so
@@stevefisher2121You are welcome, shooters need to help each other out. Primers come up consistantly also. The only downside is the hazmat fee for shipping
I can't get h4350 but could get a ld of imr 4451. Been loading 165 gr sierras, 168gr tsx's in my 30-06,and 139 gr in my 7mm-08's. Very similar to h4350. I would like to get h4350 if I could. It looks like for now imr 4451 is a very good substitute. I would like you to do a similar test with imr 4451 if you could. Thanks.
Have been using H4350 in my Ruger precision in 6.5 cr. Hornady 140 gr. eld match at 41.5 gr. At 2725 fps. With 5 shot groups of .258" plus or minus. the smallest at .236" at 100yds. The only powder i use in my 6.5 cr
down in the south east i'm doing a ladder test on the 223, 6.5 creed , 6.5 prc and .308 all at the same time with wide verity of powders and bullets some time in the next two weeks.
Use it in my 270 win with 130 gr soft points. Bought a bag of a 1000 at a garage sale 30 years ago and still using them. That load has taken many many deer over the years.
I have been trying to get ahold of some H4350 for 6 months. Bought my forester co-ax and haven't been able to purchase large rifle primers or h4350. Have Sta ball, Accurate 4350 and Superformance. But can't move forward without primers....very discouraged.
I use to run IMR 4350 in almost every caliber I had, I have since gone to Varget, RL16 ........ nothing wrong with, either IMR or Hodgdon in the 4350 markets, I still have a few pounds of IMR 4350, that I use strictly in my 7mm Mag....................................
I've used IMR 4350 for many years and now H4350 sense it came out. Both are great powders, and they cover many cartridge sizes and calibers. The large thing with H4350 is the graduals are shorter for easier feed through load throwers. Also great groups at the range
I'm glad I came across this, as I was under the same impression, THANX. In NZ Hodgdon is getting hard to get, so I went looking for something else and found the ADI AR2209 I use 41gr behind a Hornady 90gr ELD-X bullet
6 Creedmoor running 39.7 gn if H4350. .24 MOA with a 109 Berger Hybrid long rang. Problem is I can’t find any more Bullets, powder or primers to load with.
I love 4350, I wish it was more available though, I use it for my 6.5 creed loads I’m curious if IMR 4350 and H4350 are the same, so Amy say it’s the same powder made in the same factory, but I’m not sure if this is actually true.
I use 4350SC short cut version in my 260 Rem loads. 42 grains in both my model 7 and my AR-10 platform. 140 grain sierra btsp and 127 grain Barnes ttx. Use Winchester primers with Lapua brass
Would you be able to do a ladder test using H4350 on a 7mm rem. mag. ? My grandson uses H1000. Expensive along with having to use at least 10gr of more powder per round. Just wanted to compare H1000 to H4350 and see what you would come up with
4350 is the most versatile powder out there. Although I’ve always had more consistent velocities with IMR from 243 up to 30-06. H4350 is slightly slower burning and produces a little higher velocity with larger capacity cases.
Which IMR powder? My H4350 produces SD’s of 7-8fps (10 shots), and has a temperature variability of 2 FPS from 33 degrees through 102 degrees. 6.5CM, 140 Berger Hybrid, Lapua brass, AI AX.
Great powder and I run it in 6mm GT and 6.5 x 47 Lapua. Unfortunately, it cannot be found. Midsouth Shooters Supply is listed with a link as a supplier at the beginning of the original story. Ummm, no. Clicked on link and says "out of stock and no backorder". Maybe post a video on how to find Hodgdon H4350!
H4350 is growing in popularity since Hodgdon bought out DuPont/IMR and IMR 4350 is getting harder to find. Along with Alliant reloader 17 hasn't been coming in from Switzerland.
When you say StaBall is slower, you are referring to it's burn rate? I am getting ready to start a 270 Win load and StaBall seems to provide the highest velocities.
Love me some h4350! 41.5 grains with a 105 Berger Hybrid is absolutely sweet and in the .1s when I do my thing. 41.5 w a Berger 140 or eld 140 as well is fantastic. 41.5 (catching a theme yet?) is also fantastic in my 25 CM and shoots groups from .0s to .2s all day long with Berger 135s. 75 grain elds and 39.1 g in my 22 CM is a lethal combo for chucks and super tight ES… have had ES of 2 MPH on five shot groups with 6.5, 6 and 25 CM with 22 CM not far behind. I’ve had 9 creedmoors in four chamberings and won’t even try another powder it just works!
I couldn’t find more than a lb or 2 of H4350 anywhere in the last year or so. I was lucky and found a good amount of IMR4350 though, and have gotten amazing results with that. As good as H4350 for sure.
I am relatively new to reloading, and I need a good common powder alternative for 5.56/223 powder that is readily available, that meters good with 55-77 grain bullets, preferably that is commonly in stock about everywhere. and small rifle primers as well for 5.56/223 would be a great help to me I would appreciate a little help. I personally do not know where to look, outside of the big stores that usually do not have anything stock.
It’s actually AR2209 manufactured here in Australia by ADI (Australian Defence Industries) and I believe packed down and labelled H4350 in the US.
I'm glad I came across this, as I was under the same impression, THANX.
I use 41gr behind a Hornady 90gr ELD-X bullet
It says made in Australia so probably it is

Of coarse it's good, made in Australia by ADI, we call it AR2209. I only use ADI powders.
Yeah so do I because you can't find anything else nowadays. 😂

It's a great powder but please also do one on IMR 4451.
H-4350 is my go to for my .257 Roberts and a 110 bullet.
I started with IMR 4350 in my 7 Rem Mag years ago. As it became hard to get, switched to H4350. Great consistant powder. Running 62gr behind 145gr BTSP
What velocity do you get?
@@A.Mad.Lad89 If I remember right it's 3150-3200 ish.
I want to try that StaBall 6.5 in a 6.5 Creed..... plz restock
I use IMR 4350 with cast bullet loads in my milsurps with long barrels. Works great. My SMLE loves it with cast.
Have h4350 and seem to keep pulling the N555 off the shelf for the 6.5cm
my Bergara 6.5 creedmoor loves 42gr of h4350 in sig brass and 140eldm. sub .25MOA 2750fps 6.0SD
I have 2lbs of the stuff. I'm looking forward to having the time to develop loads with H4350 and my 22 Creedmoor.
H 4350.H1000. h110, stabal 6.5 retumble and more other i have to choose from, love hand loading.
39.0 grains of H4350 with a 100 Hornady Interlock in a .243 is deadly on white tails.
IMR 4451 and H4350 are excellent choices for the 6.5 Creedmoor, especially with 140 grain match bullets.
Same here
Interesting video.
I use it for my 7mm-08 with 140gr nosler BT. I’m getting ES of 6 and 5 shot groups nearly all in the same hole. I use a bergara b14 ridge
I use the most H4350 in the 6.5-284 with142 grain match bullets.
Retumbo in my 7 mag with 168 grn ABLR'S, IS INCREDIBLE.. it shoots a very tight group, @ 3000 fps, in my Model 70.
@@guardianminifarm8005 I'm using 71 grns of Retumbo under this 168 GRN ABLR.. but I worked up to it .
A little late to this discussion,
My shooting platform is a Sako Tecomate chambered in .300 WSM.
It has been coming in stock about once every 10 days or so
@@briansmith2616 Ok - Thank you so very much!!!!! Primers have been an issue as well.
@@stevefisher2121You are welcome, shooters need to help each other out. Primers come up consistantly also. The only downside is the hazmat fee for shipping
@@stevefisher2121 ammoseek has a reloader sectioon as well
@@briansmith2616 Yes, the hazmat fee sucks!!!!! Thank you again.
H4350 a favorite for my .585 AHR, 155 grs. behind a 750 Woodleigh weldcore...Quite the buffalo stopper.
Thanks.
N560 has been my go to for the last two years! In my 6.5 creed!
I know everyone says you can not use 4350 in 308 but I am going to test it and if you all did that would be great
I’ve had good luck using H4350 in my fast twist .22-250 Bergara B-14 HMR. Best group so far using 69 SMKs has been .32” with several other .50” groups
I’ve been wanting to get some H4350 but can’t find any. I would use for my 6.5 creedmor
I like this content on powders.
I picked up a couple of cans of H4350 and want to work up a hunting load for the Hornady 140grain SST
down in the south east i'm doing a ladder test on the 223, 6.5 creed , 6.5 prc and .308 all at the same time with wide verity of powders and bullets some time in the next two weeks.
I use to run IMR 4350 in almost every caliber I had, I have since gone to Varget, RL16 ........ nothing wrong with, either IMR or Hodgdon
in the 4350 markets, I still have a few pounds of IMR 4350, that I use strictly in my 7mm Mag....................................
Works well in the 22 Creedmoor as well
Good to know!
@@Ultimatereloader I’ve just started working with it pushing Berger 77 gr OTMS. Shooting a pretty mild load getting excellent es and sd.
I've used IMR 4350 for many years and now H4350 sense it came out. Both are great powders, and they cover many cartridge sizes and calibers. The large thing with H4350 is the graduals are shorter for easier feed through load throwers. Also great groups at the range
yeah would love to get my hands on some h4350. been using imr4350 and staball 6.5 since it's usually available locally
I'm glad I came across this, as I was under the same impression, THANX.
In NZ Hodgdon is getting hard to get, so I went looking for something else and found the ADI AR2209
I use 41gr behind a Hornady 90gr ELD-X bullet
I like my 51.4 gr for my 270 win out of my savage 110E 22 inch barrel 145gr eld-x 2897 five shot average with a sd of 11
I haven’t been able to find h4350 powder for a while now. I just bought the IMR4350, I’ve heard it was same, just a little more temperature sensitive.
Bought a couple lbs each of 4350, Varget & H4831 today....couldn't believe my timing lol!
Did U have to take out a loan for that purchases? L lol
@@rickyspeakman4445 Just about😆
6 Creedmoor running 39.7 gn if H4350. .24 MOA with a 109 Berger Hybrid long rang. Problem is I can’t find any more Bullets, powder or primers to load with.
I run 37.7 grains of H4350 in my 6GT with 110 SMKs and 450s. 3030 fps and one hole.
I’d like to know where you are getting all this reloading supplies
works good in the 22-250AI with 55gr and 60gr projectiles
I love 4350, I wish it was more available though, I use it for my 6.5 creed loads
I’m curious if IMR 4350 and H4350 are the same, so Amy say it’s the same powder made in the same factory, but I’m not sure if this is actually true.
No not the case. H4350 is made in Australia by ADI and sold here as AR2209.
I run a 6XC for PRS and H4350 is the best powder money can buy for it.
43.5gr of H4350 (easy to remember, LOL) works well with MY 7mm-08 162gr A-Max.
Been using 41 gr of H4350 with140 gr Berger hybrid targets. Working out real nice so far.
H4350 gives very consistent velocity with 286g bullet in 9.3x62 Mau. My rifle is limited by 20” barrel but still achieve 2400 fps
About all I've used in my 6.5CM, I've though about trying StalBil 65 but haven't found any. I also want to try H4350 in my 6.5/06.
I use it for 7saw h4350 46.2 grain sd 0 es 2 5 shot group is one hole group
I use 4350SC short cut version in my 260 Rem loads. 42 grains in both my model 7 and my AR-10 platform. 140 grain sierra btsp and 127 grain Barnes ttx. Use Winchester primers with Lapua brass
Would you be able to do a ladder test using H4350 on a 7mm rem. mag. ? My grandson uses H1000. Expensive along with having to use at least 10gr of more powder per round. Just wanted to compare H1000 to H4350 and see what you would come up with
I loved H4350 in my 6GT. Probably even more than Varget. It was rock solid using Remington 7 1/2 primers and 105-109 grain bullets.
Gavin, excellent video. Love the versatility of 4350. Can you please explain the color coding in the burn rate table you showed?
The color coding is just the different brands of powder.
Sometimes I buy powder just because they have it in stock. Last year, at different times, I was able to find Staball 6.5 and H4350.
What about 308 win loading a 178 gr ELDx bullet? Will it work?
When you say StaBall is slower, you are referring to it's burn rate? I am getting ready to start a 270 Win load and StaBall seems to provide the highest velocities.
Yes, 6.5 StaBall is has a slower burn-rate, but I get higher velocities in my 7mm-08, compared to H4350.
Good luck getting it or primers, last time I saw prices for good powder it was 60 a #.
You can't beat H4350 and IMR 4350 powders. They load so many different cartridges and bullet weights extremely accurate.
