Grab it while you can. That's your cheapest and fastest ticket into the world of MIDI guitars!
Little something you can do with GI-20, GK-3 and a bunch of VSTi's
In fact there're two types of things people call "a midi guitar". One is an actual guitar-like midi controller (think Starr Labs' Ztar), and it acts exactly as you described, and doesn't produce a sound on its own. And then there's a guitar with a midi pickup mounted on it. Which means you take any guitar, including acoustic, and glue a special pickup to it, which would need a dedicated converter to act like a midi controller for your DAW. With such a converter it again acts like you described.
Thanks! All these sounds came from different VST instruments and Kontakt libraries, all routed through Cubase. The japanese one is from an old EWQL library called RA.
Thanks! It really depends on how clean and precise your technique is, and it certainly takes time to re-adjust your skills and calibrate the hardware to fit your needs. But as soon as you do - it recognizes all midi notes almost as good as from a midi keyboard.
I love the Rhodes setting you're using. Sounds great!
I'm looking to eventually get a GI-20 and (probably) a GK-3 so I can control my MPC with my guitar. This is exactly what I was looking for.
Wow,it's awesome. Thanks for your sharing. I need this!
Thanks! As for the GK - is has a 13-pin output, which means you can either connect it directly to a guitar synth (GR-55 and such) or to a midi converter (GI-20) to pass the signal to your DAW. As far as I know, any 13-pin interface should be compatible, but I might be wrong.
very nice interpretation
Great looking foot too
it's EWQL Symphonic Orchestra Platinum, marcato solo violin
amazing dude, if i recorded a song with it does it recognize the midi notes well?
fist of all, well played ^^
but i'm wondering where did come these sounds? what plugin did u used?
i loved that japanese sound O.O so amazing..... ^^
I like the tracking. What synth are you using. I've been using a GR-33 and love it.
Hey guy, very nice playing! What gauge string and what sort of action do you use for the GI-20?/// The tracking looks smooth as....
hi, i wan't to buy a VSTi software, but i would like to know if i could have any problem such as unwanted delay or something like it before. Thanks =)
btw, are u using the same software for all the effects?
Thanks =)
can this pick up be used to control virtual instruments on its own??
show it shows chords real well? whats the exact name of the device?
Basically yes, it pretty much turns the guitar into a keyboard or a MIDI controller. As far as inputing tab, well you still need tab software and even then its spotty at best. Don't get me wrong, it helps, but tabbing is still a tedious task...
don't be so sure ;) get the pickup and try it urself, it's not That tricky.
AH! yes what is it>?!?!
fragile - sting
THis is weird.. :D
Nice video though!
roland gr-20, if you have 650 dollars
you just need a midi magnet and a screwdriver
