Agreed, there are many really great shows but this was a one off slice of perfection that will never be equalled.

It ran through the 80's 90's and 00's, It was voted UK's best comedy of all time many times over the decades, the writer John Sullivan was a genius comedy writer
Only Fools is a genuine British cultural icon - this is very much for the full reactions. Literally half the country watched the last episode (what was originally the last episode)
Although context is good with most series, OFAH is one series that really doesn’t lend itself to clips
And so much of the humour comes from getting to know the characters and their history. Especially the scenes with more pathos. More than any other series really.

Hands down the best Uk comedy series ever! My favourite episode is called ‘Dates’ where Del Boy meets Raquel for the first time and Rodney takes ‘Nervous Nerys’ out for a spin 😂. The episode with Tony Angelino is also worth a look

I'd put it level with Faulty Towers, obviously OFAH had a much longer run but it did lose it's edge towards the end
they were good days and good shows, all through the 70s to early 80s had some great comedy shows
Nerys was also in s6 Sickness And Wealth
S1 e2, Go West Young Man. This was broadcast in 1981 & is by far the best ep of s1.

Such a hugely underrated episode, for me only Jolly Boys Outing and The Unlucky Winner Is beat it.
Also had the best line for me out of all the OFAH episides, later in this episode.
Del and Rodney chatting up two girls in a club, Del making out Rodney's a top tennis player.
Girl asks, "what do you prefer Rodney, astroturf or grass?".
Rodney, distracted, replies "I dunno, I've never smoked astroturf". 😆
Can't forget the Rodney 'Peckham Pouncer' ones, they were good too!
If I remember correctly it was a extended Christmas episode. So many people don't bother with it.

Someone has probably mentioned this on another OFAH video, but James Buckley played the young Del Boy in a prequel series made about 14 years ago.
Done a good job too. And Nicholas Lyndhurst who played Rodney played Freddie the Frog in it.

I live in Monaco and I was around Casino square when they filmed on location in Monte Carlo. The British ex pats were cheering, and the French and Italians couldn't work out what was going on.
King.....if there was a series id recommend to anyone and particularly you and the queen....its only fools any horses! Funny sad, brilliant writing and you get to watch the characters grow up. Id give my left bollock to watch you guys react to this series from the start.
Now that's the series you should be reacting to. Voted the uk's best comedy sitcom. A classic.
Only Fools And horses,82 to 2003, best Brit comedy series ever, Del (David Jason) is 82 now, Rodney ( Nicholas Lyndhurst ) is 63, his son died sadly few years ago, only about 20
I think. Shame you can not watch episodes from early years to the later, and follow the story off the Trotters, the script writing is magic by John Sullivan who has passed away sadly.

The Batman and Robin scene from OFAH is arguably one of the funniest scenes ever made.
The whole lot where brilliant, the jolly boys outing, the hand gliding one, the chandelier one, the one where they go to Cornwall and meet the axe murderer, the one where they decorate for Denzil ... they are just all so fantastic .... 😂

It's a BBC show and they are very fussy about how much they release on YT. Ironic considering OFAH is on a UK cable channel pretty much every day !.

The tall skinny guy is Nicholas Lyndhurst who is currently filming the new Frasier with Kelsey Grammer.

I was shocked to find out Nicholas Lyndhurst will be in the Frasier reboot. Only Fools and Horses is the best British show ever made
I know, I couldn't believe it! I'm so happy he's been given and is able to take this opportunity after the terrible tragedy he suffered (his only child suddenly passed away, for those who don't know), it shows he's been able to heal and move on to a certain extent. It's so cruel, after the decades of laughter and joy he's brought to millions of people.
The best clip to watch is of course THAT clip - "play it cool Trig, play it cool..", those who know, know :)

Best ever series of only fools and horses
I think by 1996 Only Fools ended as a series and they just did specials until 2003. Started right at the start of the 80s. It was absolutely fantastic, I'm not sure the content would be as great for non-Brits in 2023.
But for Brits in the 80s/90s I think the writing and acting is something that reached heights that will never be reached again. When shows were considered successful at 4 million viewers and hugely popular shows averaged around 10m, Only Fools ended its main run in 1996 with an average of 21m viewers with the final special of 1996 peaking at 25.6m, it was ridiculously popular in its prime.
Del Boy David Jason, didn't even smoke, but his character did...I didn't know UA-cam censors the old shows...Hardly anyone does now...

Yes with fantastic characters, Trigger, Boycie, Denzil, The Uncle, Grandad, and not forgetting the females also. I love them all and I love The Jolly Boys Outing, and the chandelier one, and the hand gliding one, and the one where they go to Cornwall with the axe murderer ... all classics from start to finish of the show.

The "Yuppy Love" episode of Only Fools..... is worth watching. Lennard Pearce, the actor who played Grandad died while the fourth series was being made and a new character was introduced to replace him, Uncle Albert. The second episode of the fourth series opens with Grandad's funeral and is very poignant.
They used to film a lot of scenes in bristol. I remember walking home one night, I saw them running down the street dressed as Robin and batman.
Only fools and horses is a classic sitcom/comedy which ran for over 20 years. The writers were genius, they had you living the show along with the characters, laughing, crying, actually caring about the characters. One show that should be watched from start to finish in order. They don't come any better than this.

I’ve got to agree with a lot of the comments. Only fools and horses is the best British sitcom ever. I’ve watched nearly everything worth watching and OFAH is something I can watch daily if it’s on. So sad when it ended as we actually grew up watching their lives for the best part of 20 odd years

That guy you said looks like Larry Bird is Nicholas Lyndhurst. In the upcoming Frasier reboot he is going to be replacing Niles. Also Rhod Gilbert who you've reacted to before, once did a show called "Rhod Gilbert and the cat that looked like Nicholas Lyndhurst."

I think it was 1981 to 2003, I'm fairly sure it finished in 2003, but it was a very long lasting sitcom, it seemed to touch home with a awful lot of people and of course the writers, actors was on a high level for domestic TV. I would agree with you, Rodney does look a little bit like Larry Bird, I think his fairly tall too which I think was one of the reasons why he was picked to play the part. One of the mysteries of the series was 'are they really brothers?' because of the obvious differences, on one of the more sad moments, they had different fathers which was not confirmed by Del till one of or even the last episode/s (same mother). As a whole, it was two young brothers trying to make there way through life, with friends and the odd family member along the way, making a quick buck any which way they could (usually illegal goods in the local market).
Bxkid7 reacted to every single episode of only fools and horses and he put them all on Daily motion, he then made a short You Tube video telling people where to find the reactions. Only fools and horses is the best show ever to come out of Britain, or anywhere else for that matter.

Hey! You will not find a better old school British Show that Only Fools. Watching a random clip does not do it justice. You must watch it from the beginning to really get the characters. Genuinely so good :-)

In this episode, one of the great lines (that probably gets scowls now), when dodgy Del Boy and Grandad are fretting about Rodney going out with a policewoman (not somebody they would want stopping over for the night and looking at the boxes stacked under the table).
Del: It's the uniform he likes.
Grandad: Can't we just buy him one?
Del: No, he doesn't want to wear it. He wants HER to wear it. Blimey, Grandad. He's perverted, not dangerous...

Someone has managed to get only fools episodes on here. It's heavily watermarked and has an overplayed sound effect running throughout but it's still watchable.
