I own a pair of Belleville steel toe hot weather boots they are awesome and comfortable and they definitely keep your feet nice cool and safe when you're climbing on Rocky Terrain they look exactly like the ones in this video but they are older models and they are steel toe but still very very light

Hi Mat, like the boots. As you said, good for a quick workout. Now the gloves, they are really worth hanging on to. Good kit, better than breaking in a pair of Ammo Boots or the woollen gloves that used to be issued. Still, those boots are better than our Jungle boots!
Have you noticed that a lot of jackets these days have very thin wrist diameters? I know that I have large wrists from years of doing “Poki Drill” wrist strengthening exercises using a Bren Gun as the trainer, but I have had problem for years getting my wrists through the bottom of my jacket sleeves! They sort of remind me of the danner tachyon which are the closest you can get to running shoes in boots. But I go way back with Belleville great company and usually awesome boots. One brand I’ve recently discovered we don’t see a lot of in the USA is meindl. Really good shoes as well.

What spiders snakes or other biteing stingy creatures did you have to learn about when you moved there ?
Prairie Rattlesnakes, Brown Recluse and Black Widow spiders all live in that part of Southern Alberta but you would have to be pretty unlucky or careless to run into them
