  • Hello, since that moment, back in the First World War, when the first tanks lumbered over the barbed wire to reach the opponent’s trench lines, all sorts of weapons have been used to try to stop them, and precisely, the focal point on this video is the development of the modern light antitank weapons designed to be used by a single infantryman, or by a small team of two or three soldiers, against tanks.
In this short video we will see how the grenade launchers and the rocket propelled grenade launchers developed on the Second World War gradually evolved into the lethal modern Anti-tank Guided Missiles (ATGMs) that we know today.
And of course, I hope that you like this video.
    P.D.:
The clips used from movies are:
    - "The Brest Fortress", Russian film of 2010 (scene of fighting in summer in Russia)
    - "Panfilovtsev 28", Russian film of 2016 (scene of fighting in Winter in Russia)
    - "Saving Private Ryan", United States film of 1998 (scene of infantrymen using short range weapons)
    - "Downfall", German film produced in 2004 (scene of urban combat in Berlin, 1945)
    Regards,
    Victor Aguilar-Chang

This is, strangely, the only video I can find on UA-cam that gives an overview of the development of antitank missiles. And it's a good overview! Good script, excellent editing.

Hello Steve, thank you very much for your commentary, and in my list of future videos I have a lot that are similar to this one, including one on the development of SAMs for navy vessels from 1955 to 1960, that video will be available in a few months from now. Regards,

Muy buen video Victor !!!! Me costo encontrar videos de lanzamientos de los misiles filoguiados como el Cobra. Entiendo que los Mamba y Bantham son identicos.

i wonder if the early guided antitank misiles used the tech from the German WW2 radio and later wireguided glidebomb systems?
it looks like the same control unit stick

Everyone was using the same basic principals from the same basic engineering starting point: that's why they all look the same to begin with.

The effectiveness of anti tank weapons these days is ungodly. Ukraine is able to hold a forces wayyyyy larger then theirs Because of them.
