ROFL....this should be a JH Fishing t-shirt: 20:59, "How's my beard, any hotdogs in there?" Lol!!!! Love it man, so jelous!!!! Joe, will you be hitting Aroostook County at all for the Long Lake Derby??
By far my favourite American UA-cam ice fisherman. No balogna. You’re not trying to sell me anything the entire video. Good ol boy just fishin and eating wild meat. Here in Saskatchewan it’s been -30 to -40 Celsius for the last two weeks so it’s been tough to get out let alone for an overnighter. Stay well, Joe. Keep em comin.
I get Kayem Old Time Reds when in Mass. Might have my sister send me some Rice's or WA Beans from Maine as reg mail order is like 20 per lb which is a rip off. Got to drive some of those snappers into me
People in my area have recently been using hotdogs as bait to catch pike. Maybe one of em will pull Joe out of the hole. Ha. Cheaper than shiners too. Great videos. Thanks for putting them together.
I live in the middle of the coast in the state Washington every lake has perch what you guys have same color and bluegills are the same things and then the crappie is the same also but they're not invasive species in the state of Washington we don't have Pike by the way Happy New Year
If the ice fishing is slow , just start doing something else and the flags start flying. It never fails. I don’t know how many flags I’ve got while cooking lunch or rolling one.
Joe- your episodes and content have been stellar so far this ice season. Absolutely loving all of it!!! Please keep up the hard work, and keep the content coming. Tight lines, Brother!🎣🤘
Maine has native brook trout fisheries that are still pure in the northern part of the state. The rest of the state including some fisheries in the north are stocked with a hatchery brook trout, same goes with landlocked salmon. The central part of Maine has seen water quality degradation mostly from overpopulation of camps and lawns and farms on the bodies of water resulting in a loss of habitat and sustainability for those cold water species of fish. Pike, bass, crappie, perch thrive on those bodies and it upsets people who are stuck in the past.
@@JoeHollandFishing Thanx Joe. Really appreciate the fast and knowledgeable response. I promised myself this year to do something positive for the environment I love here. It's not for everyone. Yet. I'm going leadless and taking on what some parts of what Canada does and going barbless! I'm actually excited to try this. Tight lines Joe, again, love the show!
WOW!!! What a series this is turning out to be!!! Thank you for taking us along your journeys with you, AMAZING CONTENT!, by far best ice fishing channel on UA-cam
Man it’s like a heat wave for you lol Your my topic to my wife now days it snowed here and was 14 degrees this morning she was cold when we went out to milk I said well joe is camping on 7’’ of ice for 5 days catching fish . She said he is crazy or 1/2 polar bear lol
@@JoeHollandFishing I think that excitement translates well because I am watching all your content. Finally have some safe ice here and a week off next week. Gonna fish splake and hike in for some brookies.
Thank you. Ive been messing with different edits and really got excited when I did the livescope full screen and me as the side bar. I could watch the screen all day!
@@JoeHollandFishing What were you using to catch all kinds of pan fish if you don't mind me asking?I fish lake Champlain and always looking for different baits. Thanks Lloyd.
For sure, I switched between Northlands Slurpee little tube perch and a Berkeley Realistix perch look alike. The Berkeley sinks faster so I used that more. I show the package and bait in episode 3 I believe.
Rock bass are delicious. The only problem I've ever found with them is if they come out of weed beds they tend to be full of worms. The little yellow kind.
Love that your videos come out so quick! I am planning an ice camping to with my 11th grade son two weekends for now... just got the otter monster lodge, and build a track sled to pull all our stuff out... can wait!! Thanks for keeping the itch scratched with your awsome videos!
i always wonder if they shut the aerators off in the winter time i walk and i will not cross because i don't feel save not knowing thanks if you have any information
Joe you are the best at ice camping and the fishing, hope you get that huge northern pike, you know they are great eating too just as good as the perch you are catching.
i kinda laughed when you pull out the full size broom to clean off the snowmobile. how in the heck do you fit all that stuff into the sled?? love these videos, keep them coming!!!
its kinda funny I know. The broom is one of the best tools I bring. It doesnt take up much room at all when packing in and I use it a lot inside the camp to sweep snow and ice out of the tent. Allows me to keep it dry and put my feet down in the morning with socks on. Also handy sweeping the sled and tent clean of rain or sleet. Its a surprisingly good thing to have when winter camping.
@Joe Holland Fishing ya it's the 800r skidoo x it's a race sled so it's not great for holding gear pulling is fine I want a nice trunk like your new sled has
I used to live in Wisconsin, now in Texas so no ice fishing except a once a year I do a 4 day, 3 night ice fish camping trip with my dad Basically until then I live through your videos 😎 Thanks for the great content 🍻
You have to check the laws for each lake your fishing. Pull up the specific S codes for the lake your looking at. If it's not listed with S codes then it falls under general law.
My favorite miane ice fishing youtubers

Hahaha, great idea thanks. Not sure I’ll make it up for the derby, best of luck though!
When I was kid my aunt ant uncle owned a campground, my aunt loved catching rock bass off the dock. That was probably close to 40 years ago.
That was in northern Minnesota
Lots of fun!

Nice Rocky! Rock bass have no limit in the lakes I fish. I used to toss them on the ice for the seagulls. No longer! They are as good as bluegill!
So good and a nice chunk of meat too.
Here in indiana those perch would be in the basket for sure. No limit either.
For sure!

Hey Joe, so what are the primary fish in Maine that make these fish so invasive an unwanted? Thanx, like your show.
X from Minnesota

Love it just took my 650xd out you inspired me to get out on the ice. We clapped some thirty inch northerns and walleye.
Awesome congratulations!
Loving the vids brother! Crazy to see the difference in prize fish & trash fish(Invasive) from state to state.
For sure, it amazes me what people refer to as trash fish!

Love the videos can't wait for pa to freeze. Haven't ice fished in 14 years. But your video make me want to do it again.
Awesome thank you, tight lines.
Would be curious what the settings are at ok the garmin still tinkering with mine to find the sweet spot
For sure, I change them every body of water and sometimes several times a day. I’ll try and shoot a video this week about it

My dad called Rock bass Warmouth. He loved to fish for them and eat them. I see the new chair is working good. Lol
Thank you. In Florida they have a different fish actually called a Warmouth. Very close in size and shape.

No we are not allowed to in Maine.

There’s an interactive map now at Maine departments web page
As hated as they are, tiger trout have saved many a day of ice fishing..
Big time! Only hated here in Maine that I know of
You're on fire Joe, two videos today?! I'm just loving all this new content. Best of luck, and hope the giants keep biting for yeah.
Thank you, pumping them out as quickly as I can!
Typical ice fishing in Maine try to eat lunch and get a flag
Thank you! Exactly when it happens.
do you run braid to flouro on most of your rigs?
Yes
Do you trap your own bait or purchase it?
Purchase mostly.
