  • I will be discussing rumors that came out about the Toronto Raptor getting a ton of interest for Bruce Brown. Some of the teams interested are the Dallas Mavericks and New York Knicks. Additionally two other teams were named as "sleeper teams" and they were the Atlanta Hawks and the Memphis Grizzlies.

      i dont see the grizzlies trading for bruce brown. the dont need him. if they trade for anything it will for depth at center in case edey gets hurt.

      getting center depth on grizzlies is more of a priority for grizzlies than bruce brown. if they dont get bruce brown its not a big deal and doesnt change anything for team. if edey gets injured, its a problem for grizzlies

      the hawks trading for bruce brown is possible. but the question for raptors is, is it worth killing your flexibility in taking 65 million in salary owed to hunter over next 3 years for a kings 17-25 pick in 2025 or even the lakers unprotected 2025 pick which is likely going to be in the 17-25 range also. hunter is overpaid as well and the only reason he is getting that money is because he was 4th pick in 2019. hunter is also injury prone. if you go to crafted nba and compare boucher to hunter, hunter is making 21 million and is basically a lesser boucher. i think hawks would do it, because it clears 23 million off their cap next year but i dont know if raptors would take on that salary for a 17-25 range first round pick in 2025.

      the only other teams i think would trade for bruce brown is lakers, warriors. but its likely they would prefer trading for jakob poeltl instead as they both need centers for playoffs to make them competitive.
      and knicks now is an outside shot as its hard to match salaries for brown. i only see knicks doing the trade if they want to cut salary next year, and if hart has some season ending surgery.

      @giovanni-ed7zq I wouldn't say Hunter is a lesser than Boucher. Imo I would honestly take a Lakers pick in 2025, that draft is absolutely stacked and you'll get a pick outside the lottery.

    The logic of BB trade is that waiting for injuries from playoff team who hit the hard cap which they cannot afford to lose this years opportunities, that they will acquire BB to exchange the injured role player who has the 25 million to 30 million. That is currently raptors hold the salary under the tax for.

    Save the dry drama drag. The Raptors have been receiving trade interest for BB since the Siakam trade and he is still in Toronto. lol Now, that he's out injured trade interest is back again?
    At least wait until BB proves that he is 100% healthy again before you start up the trade rumors. lmfao

    I’d like to see more shooting and Atlanta’s Bogdon Bogdanovic he’s older and injury prone but could potentially get a first attached

    This might be a crazy Idea but, I would try to ask BB if he would like to stay as he is not too old but helps our vet presences. He clearly got overpaid from Indy. I think his true value is about $11-13 mil. So, what I would propose is offering a 2 year extension for $11.5 and $12.5 this is fair and makes him more tradable before younger guys like GD needs to be paid.
    A lot of people don’t want to trade BB because of the salary back longer term this move solves this.
    I know this won’t seem fair but, I would try and trade Ja’Kobe W. If you get BB to stay then RJB and BB become a very good SG rotation. Long term I think GD will be more of a SF. I would look to trade JW for a SF from the last 2 drafts knowing you might have to give up some other draft assets. Cody William, Tristan Da Silva or Jett Howard, and a few others might be there from last 2 years?
    We really need SF depth and again I don’t believe OA is a natural SF. This speeds up rebuild while not take on an older player that is more salary and wants PT. Trade a small wing in current draft for a bigger wing in the last two years.
    IQ, DM, JS - RJB, BB, OA - GD, Traded SF , OA - SB, CB, JM - JP, KO, BF. I don’t think this will hurt our 2025 draft but could reduce rebuild time. If you get a better player maybe that player starts and Gradey comes off bench for shooting. Now your rotations are better and C would be focus for 2025 draft?!

      brown is at an age where he wants to compete for more championships. he wont stay in toronto. he will get 11-13 million from any contending team in free agency. raptors to keep brown likely have to offer him 15-16 million a year to convince him to stay.

    • @thewaraichreport
      @thewaraichreport  7 днів тому

      @FillGaps as Gio said I don't like Brown wants to be on a rebuilding team. It is a great idea but imo call me crazy I think Walter will be more NBA ready than Dick was. It is in an interesting strategy, I actually believe Raptors will try to trade Rj for a defensive sf. Rj's contract will be up in a few seasons too.

      @@thewaraichreport if you trade RJ Barett you put alot of pressure on scottie barnes who cant create his own shot to score off the dribble. i dont know if you do that. i think jakob poeltl, kelly olynyk, bruce brown and boucher are traded before its considered on trading RJ.

    • @FillGaps
      @FillGaps 7 днів тому

      @@thewaraichreport interesting on RJ trade obviously for the right deal we could make a trade. I have another way and I embrace more strategies than Gio who can be myopic.
      This would HAVE to be both trades lined up and then done in a couple minutes. BB + 2026 second = Clint Capela + Memphis 26 second if it is low than ours, if not ATL keeps both 2nds. A little risk but, just a 2nd round pick.
      Jakob P + Pacers 2026 top 10 protected + 2028 second = Herb Jones + Ives Missi
      Obviously these are not final moves for N.O. who needs to get off CJ M so, they can try and keep BI. N.O. Has two other up and coming wings to replace Jones and get a good starting C that knows how to pass Zion open and defend.
      ATL gives them freedom to trade-deadline BB or D Hunter or B Bogdanovic the latter 2 are still on 3 year deals. BB also gives them championship vet if they want to keep BB which most agree would be for less $ than other 2.
      Finally for Tor: Yes CC is a down grade from JP and he maybe more difficult to sign but, we will have Missi and Chomche to develop over time. This fills our holes and HJ is on a good contract and enhances roster short and long term.
      PG IQ,DM,JS SG RJB, J’KW, OA SF Herb J, GD, OA PF SB, CB, JM C Clint C, KO, Ives M
      This would be a good and deep team. Between Ives and others you have to find a longterm solution at C but the rest of the roster I strongly like! Herb can’t guard 1-5 as OG did however, is very good 1-3 which would help MIG. I think RJ @ 24 and SB 23 can be more in the next 4-5 years you run with this core and develop/ work on C option as needed. Yes this accelerates rebuild gives more shooting off bench but we have to accept our 2025/26 first round picks will be not as valuable.

      its situational for knicks. and only if someone like hart has season ending surgery and knicks want to compete but cut salary also.

    TOR gets - De'Andre Hunter , Dyson Daniels
    ATL gets - Bruce Brown, Davion Mitchell, 2025 POR 2nd Rd Pick, 2026 TOR 2nd Rd Pick
    Is this realistic?

    • @FillGaps
      @FillGaps 8 днів тому

      @@INFINITE-IA HI, I’m not trying to be a “pain” just asking you to consider the $? It works for this year as we gain $2 mil. However, next year the former ATL players will make $30 mil and Scottie’s extension plus RJB increase is another $30. I know the cap is increasing and I believer we are under tax by about $10 mil and Chris B comes off books for $10 mil but that might put us in second apron which really hurts team flexibility and MU going into his last contract year.
      I put a bolder plan in comments check it out. Have a good day!

    No one wants the wants the injured overpaid Brown. Raptors who are going no way close to playoffs shouldn't be trading picks just to get rid of him. Let him ride out the season with the Raptors. By miracle, if Brown returns and plays effectively, maybe he can be traded at TradeDeadline.

      hawks only have the kings 17-25 range pick and the lakers 17-25 pick in 2025. hunter owed 65 million over next 3 years and his production is a lesser boucher. hunter is injury prone as well.
