A Heads up! Especially as you drive in all weathers! Look at the frame in front of the back wheel, between the swing arm pivots. You will see a horizontal oval cut in the steel with a tiny hole in the middle. That hole goes straight into the swing arm bearing cavity, so water etc gets in and corrodes the hell out of the shaft, so take the swing arm apart and grease, then block that hole! The Grom probably has this, but it is covered by a hugger, and in the Monkey, Honda have missed this.

D BX what country are you in? Here in Portugal we already have black, along with red and yellow. And I know there are blue ones in Australia and Thailand
I drove mine 225 miles the other day! When nearing the end of the drive, some on wet roads, I left the city lights onto dark roads and thought "these lights are crap' They wern't, they had about 2mm of shit on the lens!! That mudguard has to go! Looking for suitable lower replacement
Don’t get me wrong, I love it. It is just the front mudguard is so useless that in the wet it can cover the headlamp with so much crap that it struggles to get the light out!! Just like a road going enduro bike. A dangling flap on the front end of the front mudguard would help as the crap won’t get launched forwards and upwards, but forwards and horizontal
They are just so awesome they will change your life. We've been riding a little monkey 50s since 1960 9 all the way up through now and it's nothing any cooler than that little bike but it was just awesome
Its just a little to small. They need to come with the same thing only a bit bigger. I bit bigger engine 150cc, bit taller, seat and handle bars a bit higher. And call it the Honda Gorilla..
Martin de Vries yes the Netherlands have a different set of rules on this matter. I understand you need insurance for bicycles as well. It’s such a different culture regarding 2-wheeled vehicles over there, and the law reflects that.
If I remember correctly from my Enduro days, it took about 175cc's to conformable operate at highway speeds, but that was with a 2 stroke engine and the speed limit was set at 55MPH
Those disk locks are worth it. I had a crack head jump on my little Egrom one night. He wasn't going anywhere! But if i didn't have the lock on he was gone. Disk lock and alarms are a must for and Grom or small bike.
It’s not positioned as a “best value for money” product. It’s got to be more expensive than the MSX/grom so they can offer it as something more exclusive. It’s also big on the nostalgic factor and so far the sales numbers are good so the market is receiving it well

I picked up a 2019 Monkey in red, it definitely has 5% more power. Where did you film this? It looks so beautiful and clean. I tried to figure out where it was by the liscence plates, someplace in Europe but I can't quite place it. I absolutely love my Monkey and I hope that you are having just as much fun as I am. Cheers!

I watched this film for the Monkey, of course. I like very small bikes, used to have a Yamaha Chappy 50cc at one time. This Honda is also high on my list of favourites. But I was really impressed by the bridge on the background where you started. I have not been to Portugal yet, but when I do I will certainly visit Porto!
It took me some time, but three years ago I finally made it to Porto, just when lockdowns and all such permitted this trip. I rented a bike, not a Monkey, but a Himalayan, which worked just as well. With my wife as passenger I went to that famous bridge: to find that it was closed for all motorized traffic due to some restoration... So we took another bridge across the river and rode to the beach, where we had coffee and icecream on the terrace in the sun, in January. In the Netherlands, where I am from, it's close to freezing in the end of January, but in Porto and on the beach it was a very nice 20 degrees (Celsius of course). So now I have to go back to Porto, rent a motorbike again, but not before I have made sure that the bridge is open for motorbikes!

@@leeviboeka6455 The Grom is on par with the Monkey. A bit lighter I believe. But you have to really pull them up by the handlebars to pop a wheelie because they do not have enough power to raise the front with throttle alone. Or so do my friends say... :)

In finland you can drive a 125cc bike when you are 16 and above that when you are 18 so you would have to wait 2 years to get a slightly bigger engine
In the EU we’re allowed to ride bikes up to 125cc on a car license. Hence the amount of 125’s in our markets.
