The tip about the two loops in the spring was great. Your video made very short work of this! I got the first side out in one try and three tries on the second side. It was a very quick swap. Thank you!!
Did disconnecting the battery with ignition on do anything weird? I’m about to install but was wondering the reasoning for that. Personally I was going to disconnect before messing with anything, but then that would lock the wheel correct?
Nice vid- when u re tighten the nut when putting the wheel back in, do you have to worry about how tight to do it? Or just tighten until u can’t anymore?
will the buttons on a regular steering wheel work on a. flat bottom still wheel , if i do just a simple swap , i understand i wouldn't have the heated function but would that work ?
@@boostdynamictuning thanks , another question so is there set screws set in the steering wheel for the tray that hold the 2 button controls? Or how would i go about removing that from the steering wheel.
My b9.5 a5 has a 12v battery as well, after I disconnected the negative one of the normal battery, my car is still on lol , should I still keep the engine on?

Glad I could help! No lie without my own video I'm lost lol that spring is a pain to hit correctly!!!
That’s sexy! The removal and install was identical to the A6 as well!
Good info! Didn't know that
How'd you get rid of "Steering Wheel Malfunction. See Owner's Manual" error?
@@malharpatel7271 vcds
I forget module but cluster probably
Code it to say no heater installed

What did you do? 😁
I was wondering the same thing. Any updated on this?

I torqued it down. This was shown I the video my friend. Please watch it all the way through
Did the * button on the new wheel function? If so how did you program it
Sadly didn't
B9.5 it will only work for
I don't think the S5 B9.5 has *
You only disconnect the negative terminal right? Or did you disconnect it fully?
Fully I believe
Is there a light for the heated wheel not being hooked up ?
No there are np lights but a soft gaultcode in steering wheel module
does that wire power anything other then heated wheel? my mechanic saying i’ll lose controls on the left side of the wheel
Not at all. If you lose power to the left side of the wheel, then he broke the wires going to that side. Ask me how I know. 🤔
Do you get heated wheel missing error?
In vcds yes
But no codes anywhere in the car
Where did you buy the flat bottom wheel? What was the cost?
I bought mine off Facebook market place. Price was around $500-800
check out eurozone tuning and tag motorsports. carbon fiber

Did the air bag light come on or not ?
It didn't
Oki thank you 👍👍
Do u have to keep the ignition on before disconnecting the battery?
Yes, to keep the steering wheel unlocked

You've lost your heated steering wheel function though?
I live in South Carolina, we don't even have winter lol
Did the new wheel support heat?
The new wheel doesn't have the heating element. To answer your question no.
Where did you buy the wheel? Hard to find a good seller. Tons of people are just the middle man and buy them from china and ship them to consumers.
Wish I could help, I luckily found mine on Facebook market place.
would it work for a 2021 audi a5?
Yes it would
And you lose the heated function for the flat bottom
I live in south carolina, I don't think I'll be needing that function. If I really did, I could swap it back.
Did you have to get a new airbag or just put the original one in
We just reinstalled the original air bag!
