You have the comedy of 8 out of 10 cats alongside Jodi and Nick desperately trying to solve the numbers and word challanges. A winning combination and very entertaining. Pretty impressed with Nick in the number rounds - seems to be his forte.
Great to see you getting in to EOOTCDC - it's a fun show for both the comedy and playing along. And you're getting better! Love how you guys are so involved and ready with your pens to play! 👍😄
She isn't Infallible and doesn't always know the answers but mostly will. Remember this is a TV show and she is human. She does know alot but they can work around when things need looking into and occasionally she gets surprised. They do often show it when she has to look certain things up.
As a matter of course they also snip out her flipping through the dictionary in most cases to keep things moving. Makes her look even more awesome than she is. She does know a hell of a lot of words though due to her day job. Her blog with Gyles Brandreth “Something Rhymes With Purple” is well worth a listen if you want to hear Susie in her element. 😊
Susie is a lexicographer and does know her stuff but also has the producer in her ear who himself is a former countdown proper champion. So between susie and the producer they do come up with all those words.
Sean often buzzes to stop the clock on the conundrum to give the others a bit more time . Susie is probably the only celebrity lexicographer ( possibly in the world ) because of Countdown .
I said it before but Susie’s podcast with Gyles Brandreth called “Something Rhymes With Purple” is well worth checking out. They chat about rare words or groups of words and where they came from - honestly, it’s really good! 😅
There we go! Join in at the part we are supposed to attempt to do... the commercial break teaser! Although now it seems someone is 'accelerating in class' :D Many thanks guys, more more more (pretty please!)
It's difficult to not get better when they started off sooooo bad. I keep saying, I hope the kids at school have seen... it's like a gift... seeing teachers struggle... let the persecution begin 😂
Rachel has said that if no one gets it exactly during the numbers round she will choose one of the more difficult ways to get it to show how it is done, so no one feels bad that they didn't get it when it was quite obvious to her. :)
As I have said before John always writes down the 75 x tables and other similar tables before the show starts. However, he has been doing the show so long he probably knows them off by heart these days.
Having seen your reaction to Countdown (and I love the fact you play along); and having also seen some of your reactions to WILTY, have you considered doing a reaction to the Lee Mack hosted quix show, "The 1% Club"? - It isn't as chaotic as either of the other two, but you might well find the questions really interesting, especially if you're playing along.
Hey, not sure how this would work with "playing along" (or if it is possible) but you should really check out the 8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown compilation : "The Most UNBELIEVABLE 9 Letter Solves! | 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown"
@@BoringReviews Hahaha, it's like flicking the bird in the UK,. I think your wife knew., I didn't get offended at all so don't worry about it, Brits have Potty Mouths anyway :)
If people are going to make guesses, could we maybe not make them in separate threads? Maybe you do it in a reply below another post? It's impossible not to see stuff in the first/top post per UA-cam when we're trying to make our own guesses. I didn't even click on the comments or scroll down to anything. Portage was right there.
I was on 17 at the end of the last part First letters game, I got Triage for 6 First numbers round, I got it in perhaps the least efficient way possible: (75-6)*5-8+(50/10)=342 Second Letters game, I got Reloads for 7. Second Numbers game, I got 677 with 75*9+10-8=677 I wasn't even close on the conundrum. So my score on the game would have been 50 points. 37 of which was just from the maths
I did it 75-10-8 and multiplied by 6 to get 342. I was annoyed I hadn’t seen the easier version! I just realised that 342 divided by 6, so just had to make 57 with the other numbers.
Susie Dent definitely figures out the letters rounds in real time. She’s written several books. She’s a literary genius. You couldn’t wish to meet a more humble, beautiful, intellectual woman within your lifetime. Susie is a national treasure. A true professional through and through. I tip my cap and raise my glass to her.
Hahahaha I hope the kids at school see... their lives won't be worth living. Kids live for this stuff. Teachers celebrating 10-8 is mannor from heaven 😂
Do you know where the "two fingered" salute came from? At the Battle of Agincourt the English Archers were deadlier than the French. The longbow had a greater range. The English would taunt the French by waving two fingers (used to draw the bowstring) at the French. In retaliation if an English Archer was captured they'd cut off those fingers from his right hand.
Never doubt the Dent . No wonder children are so weak these days , when the teachers make life easier for themselves and break the rules what chance they kids . Loose

Appreciate that
"I just started doodling".
A synopsis of my entire time in maths lessons at school.
Aye! Me as well.
I was buzzing for Jodie, thinking she must have got it... but no... doodling
You are both getting better at this game. Well done.
Can't get worse 😂
I hope the kids at school see and have their life over it. It's manner from heaven to kids seeing teachers struggle ❤
Great to see you getting in to EOOTCDC - it's a fun show for both the comedy and playing along. And you're getting better! Love how you guys are so involved and ready with your pens to play! 👍😄
Like I've said... can't get much worse.
I hope the kids at school have seen it, cos kids love to laugh at teachers struggles 😂
you only got a six, I got a seven with EOOTCDC (I see you edited it ... Oh bugger, so did I)

Oooooh... bragging 🥳
I thought I was the only one cursed... or is it blessed with that, personality trait 🤥
He writes the songs himself... he is a comedian. Susie is a word expert and knows the answers on the spot.

"i just started doodling" lol too cute. (50-6=44x8=352-10=342)
I know... had my in kinks 😂
They both got 'grades'. Finally, their profession pays dividends on this show!
The dividend is... the kids get to see their teachers struggle and can torture them with it. It's a gift for the kids 😂

I was chuffed to get potage, then Susie pissed on my chips
I dunno, I’d be chuffed to learn that Susie and my brain ran along the same lines. For a bit. 😂
You did well, getting stronger every episode.

At least duding these 8 Cats versions because the contestants are comedians, not the regular type of contestants.
I also got 'Portage' which has two pronunciations and two definitions.
As I have said before John always writes down the 75 x tables and other similar tables before the show starts. However, he has been doing the show so long he probably knows them off by heart these days.
In case you didnt know. The contestants are allowed to have the multiplication tables written down
Isnt it only the 17 times table?
i had "sweats" i was almost there lol
Nick!! Can you take a look @6:35 and discuss Jodie's "upper body movements? Love the reviews by the way ;-)
Surely the easiest method for the maths was:
50x6=300, 5x10=50, 50-8= 42, 300+42=342
Getting better all the time.

Bless their cotton socks 😊
Just watching to see how many pens end up in Jodi's hair! Reminds me of the school secratary in Ferris Bueller.

7:12 50 x 75 = 3750, you were on the right path, Jodi 👍😁
I know, she's soooo bad
The kids at school will have a field day if they see this. They will torture them. Nothing more fun for kids 😂
Write the letters down in a circle , works for me
Yeah don't put two fingers up, it means a different thing in the UK :)
He has been to the UK, I think he knew he was doing a double "eff you" but acted all innocent. Jodi sure knew what it meant.🤔
@@MartinMcMartin I really didn’t know what it meant. Just because I’ve been to the UK doesn’t mean I know it all. Haha

I got 7 - potager for the first one
Nick Helm is a fantastic comedian. He's got a number of albums, and some great songs in future guest appearances.
But that's a very acquired taste.
Jon Richardson has the 75 times table written down to help him you should do the same.

i did 75-9 is 66 x10 for 660 the 25-8 is 17 and add them together for 677
You miss a lot of the humour by playing the game!😊🤔
I missed Joe Wilkinsons joke
I'm saving show up to binge watch! 🇬🇧🤔
I got the '677' instantly but just could not see the previous number. Oh well.
Gliders for 7

On QI they once explained that this is probably just a myth, I think they mentioned other possible origins but all just as doubtful.
10-5=2
5+2=7
50+7=57
6*57=342

Hi guys, I got The sum a different way 77-9 =66 ×10 = 660 +25 =685 - 8 = 677
(75 x 9) + 10 - 8 = 677
More time 😂😂😂😂😂 cheats
