The comment Rachel made about maths being useful for doing your taxes is possibly a dig at Jimmy Carr who got into trouble when he used a tax avoidance scheme. Search for HMRC V Jimmy Carr and there is a hilarious video of about 20 minutes in which the two panels of the show 8 out of 10 Cats (not the Countdown version) rip Jimmy to shreds. And in all fairness, he doesn’t shy away from what he did.

I knew Jodi was gonna jump at the shire horse being broken, didn't think it'd get Nick too.
Those shire horses were very popular back in the 70s, for some reason. They usually came with a cart full of beer barrels or something. My mum had one.
You can buy them in charity shops £2.50.
Don't know if you've ever stood next to a shire horse but they're bloody massive.

Nick was right to query this. Joe made a mistake calling Jimmy 'Des'.. in relation to his earlier joke he was on series 3, he should have called him Richard.😂

The shore horse was a mass produced item we bought the exact same one pulling a gypsy caravan in a kit form. There were other kits such as a hay rick or cart. Worth nothing but a few pounds now.

James Corden before he got the Late Late Show was just a tiny bit less arrogant. No less funny of course, but it’s interesting to watch him pop up on this kind of show and be ok with completely bombing. It’s kind of sad to be reminded of the progression of him.
James Corden, right off the bat does something obnoxious to get attention because he knows he isn't funny or interesting enough to hang with the comics. If it wasn't for gorgeous Jodi and her lovely smile I probably would have not bothered with this one, because of Corden.
Jodi is really pretty! Imagine being a boy in her class, you would be distracted all the time, and never get anything done!
We remember that blessed day when James Corden left the UK for America - trouble is he came back.
Jodi if you don’t like the chat you’re best watching the original countdown . It’s on in the afternoons and it’s more about the numbers and letters than chat and jokes
Sadly, the jokes and banter *are* the only thing which make Countdown bearable!

“The introductions are a little long for me”. Really like the channel but some serious irony there since it’s usually 3-5 minutes to get into the stuff people click for, adding on 15 minutes for you guys to add some numbers together and do some anagrams 😂

Carol was the woman that Rachel replaced. So saying carol looks good and has done plastic surgery was a joke on not knowing rachel replaced her.

@@Thoucraggyknob I'm aware of that, I put original before countdown to reference the one that is in the day time rather than evening.
James Cordon was quite popular at one time but when fame came it went to his head and became very unpopular. He starred in a fantasy film at one time, which wasn't bad. Shows like this are a good way of getting used to various British accents.
Roses are/were a popular brand of boxed or tinned assorted wrapped chocolates, often given as gifts at Christmas or as a small thank you present. Don't think they make them anymore though as I haven't seen them in years
Yes, they had them in Sainsbury's when I visited yesterday.
Yeah, Roses (and Quality Street) are still around. The big tins sell like mad at Christmas.
The joke was that the entire rabbit was chopped up (including the foot) and made into a savory pie

It's a comedy panel show more than a quiz, I much prefer the normal "8 Outta Ten Cats" than the Countdown version

I really don't know what Corden did to piss off the rest of the UK, but I always thought he seemed like a tosser. Now everyone agrees with me but I don't know why.
I was a bit confused by this as I'd only seen him and Gavin & Stacey then not followed his career at all.
I looked into it and it turns out he's got a history of acting pretty poorly towards people either in person or on social media. There have been lots of stories of him blowing up at fans, throwing the 'don't you know who I am' line around in public and generally being pretty awful. There was also a painful incident on stage with Patrick Stewart at an award ceremony that you can watch online.
I thought this might have been blown out of proportion a bit, as things sometimes are on the internet, but he himself has admitted that his behaviour has been bad and that fame had gone to his head.
Not sure if he's mellowed out at all but I get the feeling the damage is done and he's unlikely to repair many bridges.
@@laserpanda94 exactly, it really doesn't matter. But I always felt he was a pillock, never known the guy, never knew anything about the recent stuff. He just seemed like one. I just never took to him. Makes me question myself, because I've had the same issues with people in real life, everyone likes them, they've been nice to me, and then they turned out to be a murderer (ok that only happened once but yeah genuinely why could I see he was a wrong 'un and no one else could?)
James Corden is so obnoxious, luckily everyone else on the show is fantastic, so I made it through.

The irony of Jodi saying that the beginning of this show is a bit too long for her... When their own regular ten minute long daily videos... Usually don't get started for about three minutes... Because that's how long they'll chat with each other before starting their own.😂

James had a show. He doesn't' anymore. He's proven to be one of the most arrogant people in the industry and puts on a face for shows. It's a long story but all out there. Really not worth caring about though.
We thought we had got rid of corden, and we're hoping you'd keep him over there, but he came back 😭nooo! He was good in gavin and Stacey, but is disliked by a lot of people for his big ego and bad attitude.

Hey there Borings, Don't do the games, 8 out of ten cats is about the comedy and the banter. Just let the games wash over you and enjoy the comedy. If you want to do the games watch "Countdown" the serious show that has a serious host and where Suzie and Rachel are both in serious mode. Just love your reactions especially the WILTY ones. James Cordon was a fairly decent character actor in a fairly decent sitcom that he cowrote. Then featured in Dr Who where he was good - the first film he was in,The History Boys, was good. He then appeared in 9 really terrible films, each one as bad as the last - despite becoming a Z list actor he imagined he was A list and started behaving like he was, and then became a laughing stock and a complete dick.
In the 70's lots of houses ( especially in the area where I grew up) had those horse ornaments, often pulling a gypsy caravan made of matchsticks. The reason these were made of matchsticks is partly because they were easily available in prisons where most of these caravans were made. My dad probably bought ours as none of our family were interesting enough to go to prison.
The porcelain horse was not in any way shape or form valuable. In the seventies and early eighties almost every home in the UK had one the tack on it was made of cheap tin coated to look like brass and it came with an unconvincing plastic cart. They were the epitome of crap along with the three ducks on the wall. If you spot one at a car boot sale even in mint condition anyone asking for more than a pound for it is taking the piss.

With no disrespect intended - I think you guys have kind of missed the point of these ‘cats down’ videos. 8 out of 10 cats does countdown is a comedy parody for a British game show called ‘countdown’ - it’s not really intended to be taken seriously and as such, the viewer is encouraged to draw their attention to the screen to react to the daftness during the letter and number round intervals, not actually play as though it was the actual countdown show

Not well liked by the entire comedic community in the UK. Not just the industry. The watchers and consumers have seen through his BS
I never liked him, and for ages not too many people agreed with me, but going back to his first appearances on TV something about him rubbed me the wrong way (most likely his lack of comedic talent and arrogance). I feel vindicated now everyone else thinks he's a prat, too.
