Seat Leon SC 1,8 TSI - acceleration 0-225 km/h, Vmax test and more

- Very good acceleration and top speed, but really awesome agility in low and middle revs. See all the accelerations on individual gears. This car (weights just 1 232 kg) is capable to go from 50 to 200 km/h on 7th gear under 50 seconds. Much better than in the first review, maybe some new setup for the serial production. This car is seriously claimed to be bone stock with no aftermarket mods. More at: www.Autoforum.cz/prvni-dojmy/t...

It's amazing how modern day hatchbacks can reach speeds up to 250km/h when even 15 years ago you had to own a car like a BMW M5, Mercedes AMG etc. to reach that kind of speeds.
But in a Mercedes at 250km/h you don´t have the feeling it´s gonna fall apart....
@@mbo1071 true. i have a golf mk7 at 230 km it feels like its going to blow up XD
@@diegoalvarez3195 I have a 12 years old E280 CDI, at 200 it floats ;-)
Hezky...moje 1.8 TDCi se může jít zahrabat :)).
Ty testy pružnosti mi tu chyběly Pavle...díky za ně!
cool car, nice acceleration and very good breaks
LOL BRO THOSE BREAKS ARE INCREDIBLE
For people saying it's fake, this car is lighter than both The VW Golf GTI and the Seat Leon Cupra and it has a different DSG transmission that's smaller and consumes less engine power, also the gears of this transmission are shorter.
This is why it's faster than its 180hp would suggest
Idiot speaking...
1.) It has a 7-Speed DSG (DQ200) which weights almost identical (+/- 5 Kilo) to the bigger (and faster) DQ250.
2.) No DSG consumes noticable engine power. That was the case for old automatic in cars like Mercedes Benz in the 90`s. The only difference to the better and stronger DQ250 is a *bit* less consumption of *VOLTAGE* (and *NOT* engine power you dumbfuck) for the DSG oil.
3.) That car is exactly as fast as an Audi A3 1.8 TFSI in every video. Which is as fast from 100-200 as the 100 Kilograms heavier Quattro version with better DQ250 and even slower from 0-100 than that.
So much for that.
Now *ALL* cars in his videos go faster than stock. For example the A3 1.8 TFSI with same engine. Stock that car needs 0-160 in 16 Sec and 0-200 in 29 Seconds. In his video, and only there, it needs 14,5 (to 160) and 24,5 (to 200)....
Reason 1: He drives downhill each time.
Reason 2: He places a tuning box each time.
Nuff said.
Wow... I mean... if you wanna call people names, at least get your facts straight, otherwise you just might sound like an idiot yourself...
Would you mind explaining to me (and to everyone else for that matter) why the DQ250 is faster than the DQ200 (given the fact the clutch actuation system -and its dynamics- is identical on both)?
And about the power consumption thing: you say the DQ250 has a higher (electric) power consumption (there is no such thing as "voltage consumption") than the DQ200. Now, if it's not engine power, where exactly does that additional power needed on the DQ250 come from? Maybe the car's own electrical power system? And what exactly charges that system? You go figure the rest out by yourself, kid.
By the way, a wet double clutch, as in the DQ250, is, indeed, less efficient than a dry double clutch. Not only because of the oil pump, but you also have a higher drag torque on the inactive clutch due to the oil in between the plates. That's not even insider know-how, you can read it on wiki ;)
So here's a summary for you layman: in general, a wet DC system is less efficient than a dry DC system, which means you need more ENGINE POWER input for the same output. Got it?
Hmm... OK, when I read your post and my answer to it, I guess it is too late, you've already managed to sound like an idiot HAHAHA :D
Tim Turbo Nice, very classy of you, cursing at me just to prove your point?
BTW the 7-speed DSG was indeed developed to be efficient and economical thus is being used only on smaller engines in the VW/Audi lineup, you don't believe me? ask them yourself!
I made a 0-100 video of my 100% stock 1.8 tsi with DSG. It is as quick as in this videos here ... ua-cam.com/video/VCkGT0hKosw/v-deo.html
@Spongebob Schwanzkopf i timed it and he done 0-200 in 23.3 seconds so you cant really talk
VERY NICE VIDEO BRO!! THANK YOU
Take delivery of mine in October ...in red with 18" polished/titanium alloys & the DSG+paddles box...just got so use to this set-up hav'in had 2 Leon with the same..plenty of good fun with all options...
amazing I test drove it today. Acceleration is gratifying surely feels less than 7.5sec ! I cant believe when I checked its 7.5 sec, felt like 6.5sec!! The engine train is responsive. Nice quality interior for the price. The bad side is that the traction control can't be switched off and it slows me down a lot at sharp corners. The other issue is the that the brakes and suspension/handling are not as good as CLio 197 RS
I have the five door FR with this engine. Previously had an A3 1.4tfsi Sline. The 1.8tsi is simply one of the best engines available. I can easily get 50+ mpg, and measured sub 7 seconds 0-60...the manufacturer's figures are very conservative so as not to ruffle VW and Audi. I would love to see the standard 1.8tsi on a dyno. Would guess its puting out closer to 200 bhp !
Right! The total distance you can only see when Cruise Control is switched off.
It's down in the left then.
Skoda's weight is 1337kg vs 1232 for the Leon. And after the ECU isn't the same for Vw-Audi-Seat-Skoda. Every brand has his own custom map. Golf 7 GTI 1351kg. Colin Chapman said: Incrase horse power and you'll go faster in a straight way, take off weight and you'll go faster wherever you go.
If this is true, this is the best engine i have ever seen at 1.8 l. . . Super fast, just magnificent, very good sound too. . .
That turbo whistle is addicting.
LOL, Cruise control (on the bottom left) is set to 250 :-p
Nice acceleration.
HI ¿DID YOU DISCONECT THE ESC OR JUST THE ASR?
Yes and the GTI VII with the 6-speed manual was tested at 24,2 0-200 by AutoMotorSport who always have good numbers---
To all the people saying this is chipped/remapped you're only saying that because it's probably faster than your car... I have a mk1 skoda octavia vrs with a 1.8t 180hp and I can say these 1.8tsi leons are this quick. Had one follow me along dual carriageway and it kept up easy. Also I've driven a 1.2tsi 105hp fabia and that felt like 120hp car due to the high amount of torque these tsi engines produce. They really are a great piece engineering.
It has performace perfectly comparable to the 2.0TSI 200/210... wow... the weight advantage is playing nice here, and I supppose the 7-gear box helps a bit too.
What is the yellow triangle sign? Low oil level?
Wow nice acceleration, at what altitude is this?? Is almost as fast as my ST mk3!!! (At 3200m)
Guys, this is true! I have skoda octavia 2 after facelift with 1.8 TSI (160hp) and i didnt have problem reach 200km/h on highway with 5 people(with me) and 5 tires in the back, I was little bit slower... few seconds... 1.8 TFSI engines are amazing! avarege fuel in the city? Now in the winter with winter tires between 8-8,5L... not bad i think :P
The TSI engines are all great working.
I just got 1.4l with 122PS - but MUCH faster than e.g. Grande Punto T-Jet with 1.4l 120PS.
At 140km/h I lost him behind me. Till 140km/h I got 20, 30m in front ;-)
So it feels like even more than 122 / 180 PS. Turbo works well.
500km is just the actual trip.
The total distance is down on the left side, but you can just see it when cruise Control is switched off.
in the lower right corner is the Trip-Distance and not the overall distance
in the upper left corner is the clock. So how do you know how much km this car have been driven. I didn´t see it in the video.
Sry for my poor english.
Yeah the sc fr 1.8 dsg is a beast!
wow amazing
Even i felt bad for the needless high speed braking..
that looks almost too good to be true, but i drove the first version of that engine in an audi a4 once...and i was particularly impressed with the pulling power from from just above idle-rpm. the new engine here has even more torque and the leon is what...about 300kg? lighter than the a4....hm maybe its true after all, seems to be a perfect car-engine-transmission match.
damn... every video have this phiii sound at the Background! do u charg the Camera in car?
it's the turbo sound
Swake no, when i charg my phone in the car i hear the dame spool sound! When the rpm's get higher than also the sound "turbo sound" gets louder!
I rented this car for a week. I can really confirm it is suprisingly fast. I reached 215 km/h with it on the german Autobahn. Acceleration is beastly and the car looks real nice on the outside. Later I rented a car from the same category, a Nissan Pulsar, and it suffered so much in order to reach 200hm/h, I could feel it was much less powerful than Leon.
0thereaper0 You mean the 1.2 petrol engine??
Jean V Sorry, I don't know exactly about this detail. Probably it was a TSI 1.2 or 1.4, but gasoline for sure
0thereaper0 There is only a 1.2 turbocharged petrol, making 115 hp. You cannot compare this Seat with 1.8, 180 hp to a 1.2, 115 hp. Not the same category.
Jean V I know 1.8 is supposed to be more powerful than 1.2 and that they are in different categories, but they are still the same car and use the same technology. So yeah, I can say that Leon is surprisingly fast for its technical details, whether it is 1.2 or 1.8.
Jean V And why are you so sure there isn't a 1.4 TSI version? Have you even checked this information?
I have to admit that this is the best engine what you can get in car like octavia/leon. Maybe it has same torque like 1,4tsi, but it pulls in higher rpms like naturally aspirated engine.
Overall fuel consumption is great as well. About 6,5L/100km.
i have leon fr 1.4 150hp MT so funn car and strong ! fall in love with her :)
Original sound?
i just bought a car like that
its sooo much fun
I want to buy one you recommend me ????
1:32 --> esp + abs = good ahahhah
madness
IS it quicker than the tdi 184
your car is stock?
Hallo.
+messerschnitt i can confirm, i drive a Golf mk7 GTD manual for work sometimes and fastest i have done is 235 kmh on 19" wheels with 3 persons. Takes some time but has surprisingly high top speed.
It is possible if its lighter....weight is EVERYTHING !!!
All that nice quality trim within the Golf has a downside also ?
Nice, have the same acc in bmw e90 330xd... nice
nice sound and acceleration funny
brake at 200 for nothing.... applause
How do you know it was for nothing clever clogs?
Is this original or tuned ?
Well these number are true!! and yeah it's Not a downhill But mine has a k&n cold air intake but engine is still stock...
the new 1.8 tfsi gives 195 ps and 269 nm of torque.there was a dyno done in the uk
That is correct. I also saw another dyno test in Germany which measured 197 ps and 280 Nm. This confirms the reason why this car is a lot quicker than expected. Combined with the weight reduction of the new MQB platform this provides amazing performance and economy. I know this as I have one. Best car I have had by a long way, my last two cars were Audis.
Possible?! 180 HP and 22/23 seconds for 200 kph. The leon cupra with 280 HP do it in 20 seconds.
BMW x6 550d do it in 24 seconds...
skr54 it's fake

+papaVasyaA These cars have the manual transmission, DSG equipped cars are at least 1/2 a second faster to 100kmh, so 7.1 becomes around 6.5 seconds, very close to the car in this video.
Baha T
yea,but this is shitty fake
papaVasyaA How is it fake? the article you have provided clearly says the 1.8 Seat does 0-100k/h in 7.1 seconds, and this is a manual transmission car they have tested, DSG equipped cars are even faster, the car in this video does 0-100 in the 6 seconds range, around 6.5 seconds, what is so fake about that?
Baha T
yeah, thai it because 280 hp cupra do 0-200 in the same time like 1.8 on this fake video
i tried using the method at 0:14 in a VW but still couldnt get past the 4000 rpm rev limiter...
I was surprised by the brakes.
yep. my GTI VI needs ~27 seconds.
0-100 very fast :)
no, seat leon 1.8 tsi 2013 , 1297 kg, 226 km/h. skoda octavia 1.8 tsi 2013, 1320 kg 231 km/h
but leon reaches it faster
the engine is stock?
Yeah mine takes 22.5 sec from 0 to 200 km/h but it has k&n cold air intake & a stock engine
and how you can explain..than skoda octavia 3, with the same engine needs + 13s to do 0-200 !? And remember...skoda octavia it s have a better coefficient aerodynamic. golf 7 gti 2.0 tsi dsg (220hp) needs 22 s to do 0-200.
Gear 7 be like: naah not today bro

any comments about fuel consuption?
+Lacko011 I've read in some reviews that you can get as low as 6 l/100km at highway speeds and a liter less at legal speeds in local roads (90-100 km/h). All of the reviewers talk very positively about its consumptions, which are very low for a gasoline engine of that size (1.8 liters) and power.
+trance former thanks! i hope this stays also with the polo gti that has 1.8 petrol engine
Lacko011 I was the owner of a 1.8 Nissan Almera with 116hp and I it had worse mileage than this 1.8 180hp so I think you can't go wrong :) Of course you'd get even lower figures with the diesel version (possibly 2l/100 less) but then you wouldn't enjoy a gasoline engine with the nice sound and great sensations when revving :)
+trance former i hear you. Now i have 1.6 diesel 90 hp, its ok engine but i want more power. so i am looking something like gti or gtd. the only worry is maintenance breaks, disks...
If you like powerful diesels, there is a 184hp diesel version of this car. I now own a Peugeot 308 ehdi 115hp diesel (I have to travel long distances) which has awesome mileage (5 l. combined - can do less than 4 on local roads) but I'm thinking of buying a second car because I enjoy so much more the sounds and sensations of gasoline cars
you're right a BMW 328i with 245 HP and 350 NM does 0-200 in 26 seconds. I'd say downhill...
No man! It's a 1.8 TSi with 180ps!
i love seat, isnt an audi but i love it
Its very fast
This car probably has 220-240 hp, at least!
your totaly right :-) its with stage1, had the same car
What do you mean by no revving freedom?
sky Usually in a Manual Transmission car or in some Automatic Transmission, you're able to rev the engine while stopped to the red line, but cars like Audi Q3, A3, Seat Leon don't allow it, and the revs stops at 4000 RPM, it is something good because it prevents you from overheating the Engine. hope this works :)
Its possible... i make test drive with seat leon fr st 2.0 tdi 184 hp ;-)
tdi is crap
Wheels in the air?
En descente...
Nope. It has 7,2 to 100 km/h. Mk2 has 8s with 1.8 TSI 160 hp engine.
Nope its true cuz i have the same car and mind the seat proclaimed numbers it's much faster on the road
DOWNHILL!!
nearly as fast as the Cupra 265....never
This is NOT downhill...
It *IS* downhill, idiot.
+Tim Turbo Go trolling somewhere else and don't insult me.
This is not fake. The car is chipped 100 procent. i think it has 220-230 hp
No, it isn't :P We've got the same engine (Audi A3 Cabrio 1.8 TFSI 180HP), goes insane, too. You easily reach 230 kph+
have not 180hp!! this car have same performance of audi tt 2.0tsi
I just met a TT 2.0 Tfsi on the german autobahn. From 180-210 kph the TT was a little quicker and moved away by 3-5 meters...
охирительная тачка
fake. This leon can t have just 180 hp. Look here..octavia 3 1.8 tsi 180 hp..o-200 about 36s.
Nice man, 500 KM and you rev the engine like this....
marco polo replying to old comment..
Thats the trip!
234km/h !!! gps is fucking
You actually do. But this is a press car so they just don't care.
suspect ECU tuning....makes 0-200km/h in less than 24 sec...incredible time for a car with less than 200hp.... and it weighs 1310kgs
DIMITRIS PAPADOPOULOS its because this engine in reality makes around 190 HP
The car actually weight 1235kg pretty light for a car that big
best in 1:40 :)
4. 5. gear 100-140kmh is this same fast my 1.9tdi PD 74kw 240nm upgrade 140kw+ 440nm ;) nice
looks like A3.
woow I think it's more faster than my 325is e36
+
Sorry, but the car isn´t stock :-) Had the same engine and did a test 100-200 without software and then after stage1 software...without its 100-200 about 24 seconds ;-) With software its very similar to your video...Look at this please ua-cam.com/video/BgCCSgzfh5U/v-deo.html
Ezra
Bwahaha Not even with 260 bhp he wil do 23 sec
Downhill...
Downhill
daownhill fake as always
Celica the Best
I think it's going a bit downhill or it's chipped. It's almost as fast as a Golf 7 GTI, only 2 sec. slower, that's not possible with 180hp ;-)
MY APR DO IT MUCH FASTER :)
HAHAHAHA this car is 180bhp !!! Go to your local dealer and take for a test drive for god sake .... Dont even try to compare it to skoda octavia or golf even know it is VAG seat tunes their enegines their way, this is not chipped or anything totally stock !!!!!!!!
fake

Are you stuck in the 1960s?
- U dont need to run in modern engines......
