    Great series. Amazing, with all of the combined information you provide, that you don't have 10 times the subscribers.

      Thanks man, appreciate that. Yea, most folks just hit the guides up as one-offs, so I don't get the subscribers that a series would, but it's all good. Have two more Grand Canyon guides coming and then onto some others. Need some time away from the computer....

    Thanks for this, I want to go here in a bit. One thing that struck me is: Every other video I have seen of the Canyon had a heroic sounding musical accompaniment. I am looking forward to seeing it in the marvelous expansive peace and quiet!

      Ha thanks, yea, no music or drone shots, just some narration and directions. You'll love the hike, not too many people and if you get tired you can bail out on the bus. It's really beautiful, have fun!

    Nice hike, but are their any trail hikes on the North Rim side of the Grand Canyon ? Thanks 👍

    • @Hikingguy
      @Hikingguy  2 роки тому

      Yes, will have some coverage this year. They're nice but not as popular as the South Rim. And North is closed from Nov-May-ish

    Thank you for this. Can this trail be picked up around the Grand Canyon Lodges? specifically Kachina? And that would still be a 7+ mile walk?

    • @Hikingguy
      @Hikingguy  7 місяців тому

      Yes Rim Trail goes from Hermits Rest to Yaki Point, passing all the lodges on the rim.

    Thanks for the great information on this hike. Your website says that dogs are allowed, but I read somewhere else that they are not allowed past where cars can travel (shuttle only areas). Any more information on this as we're travelling with our dog in September.

      Dogs are allowed on the Rim Trail. It's the only trail they are allowed on in the park - www.nps.gov/grca/planyourvisit/pets.htm

    Thanks for this video. Is it true that you can actually pick up this trail at the South Kaibab trailhead? Making it closer to 13 miles?

    I love your videos Man they are very informative. Question.. I'm afraid of heights. Is there anything hiking trail out there in the Grand Canyon that is not too close to the cliff?
    I'm not used to the Grand Canyon hiking. I usually go hiking in Catskill upstate New York

      Thank you 🙏 - For trails without an edge, check out my Rim Trail guides (3 on the site) which are far enough away that its not an issue. You could also try the Bright Angel Trail which does down the canyon but is always 4 feet wide at a minimum.

    Hi. Thank you for this. Which shuttle bus line services this trail? My family will be visiting for the first time in May 2021. I know most shuttle lines are not in service due to Covid.

      Check out the link in the description and go to the full guide on HikingGuy. I have info on the shuttle and links to the current schedules.

    It looks like the trail is 13mi from South Kaibab trailhead. Most looks flat and fast on your vid. I'm thinking of using this for an epic Half Marathon PR run. Thoughts anyone? Are the dirt sections not too technical? Can I safely stay fast on them?

    What's the best way to go - west or eastbound?

    • @Hikingguy
      @Hikingguy  2 роки тому

      I like the route I have here - westbound

    Which overlooks offer the best views?

      It's tough to say because they're all pretty spectacular. I like Hopi Point, which is on this hike. REI took a stab here > destinations.rei.com/local-tips/best-grand-canyon-viewpoints
