Very Interesting video. I put 20" Hankook EV's on my 2020 M3P to replace the Michelin Pilot Sports. I was very dissatisfied with the Hankook's as the tire roll in the cornering was apparent. I even felt at times some tire slip in hard acceleration in a straight line. Last week I traded my 2020 in for a new 2024 M3P with the Pirelli's staggered setup. Good to know about the 18" setup.
Impressive! I average 220 Wh/mi in my 2022 Model 3 Performance and have proven multiple times in my videos that my car has 340 miles of range (I have aftermarket Aero Wheels and more efficient tires). The extra 20 miles you're getting makes sense with the aerodynamic improvements they made to the 2024 models, but you're still losing some efficiency with those open spoke wheels. I'd love to see what kind of range your car would get with the EV01+ wheels I use as they are way more aerodynamic... possibly close to 400! 😎
I have always wanted to try those wheels. I might be able to get down to below 200 wh/mi with those wheels and the ultra efficient Hankook iON EVO AS tires. I did testing with 20” Aero wheels and the Hankook tires and the gains were significant.

Can’t imagine that I was almost buying the LR AWD for efficiency, giving up the insane mode…glad I searched for 1/4 mile times! You said in another video that there may even be a lighter 18” wheel for us to choose from? Which wheel is that?
@@flynbonz there are many options that are lighter. However, they typically require spacers or hub rings so that they fit. Getting lighter tires is easier than trying to find lighter wheels that fit. Before you swapped to the 18 inch setup, did you notice tire noise/humming from the stock 20 inch setup? I just took a test drive of a 2024 M3P and a 2024 M3LR on the 19 inch wheels, and the M3P had a very noticeable and constant tire humming at speeds above 50 mph. The M3LR was much quieter at highway speeds.
