My neighbor owns the last 359 built. 2 overhauls on the 3406, millions of miles, looking good and running strong. As it says on the back of the sleeper - "Classic". Nothing more, nothing less.
Love that you mentioned the Film Black Dog, thats where I first saw the 379 as a kid and have loved them ever since. Incredibly rare to see any over here in the UK
I used to have another truck before I got my 02 , 379 back in 2012. I don’t think I can can ever drive something else. The way she looks the way she drives, feels the loyalty. I think I’m in love with my 379. Thank you for making me fall in love again.
Me and my dad run a trucking company and the 379 is the best truck we've ever ran. Not only does it run amazingly its beautiful to look at and to ride.
Ive rode in Peterbilt 379s with my dad in my opinion they are the best id want one with a c15 cat or series 60 or n14 they are super expensive my dad and uncle say Peterbilt is the best out of all other trucks they driven. with proper maintenance good engine and care when driving they will last.
The black silver and grey 379 coupled to the bullwagon at the end of the 10 was Anthony Seale’s owner of Seale Livestock in Tx! Known him for a little while and the drivers that have worked for him in the past!! Good guy hands down!!
I sincerely hope that when the 389 is discontinued Peterbilt brings out a 399 that brings a couple of KW W900 features with it, while keeping that classic Pete conventional look. The integrated cab/sleeper, the larger sleeper, the slightly wider cab, the taller interior with a slight step down or flat floor. Disc brakes and air ride suspension all around, rust proofed and rock guard (to prevent chips and rust) on the exposed pieces including the underside of the cab. Keep the individual gauges, but make better use of the dash/overhead console space. If Pete goes towards the ugly W990 styling in an attempt to modernize, they will lose customers. The 379/389 is the best looking truck on the road.
The engine after the Cat (my favorite) was an ISX 15 Cummins...big on everything...We had a polished and chromed out 379 with a C-15 in it....awesome truck!!
Y'all keep showing the outside of the trucks. Could y'all start showing the dashboards, cabs, and bunks! Thanks! We live inside these trucks, not just walking or rolling by them.
And the ride sucks. I'm the biggest 379 fan out there but out of the 4 I owned, they seemed to feel every bump in the road compared to the Freightliner and Internationals I've drove.
There you go thumbs up on the 379 the only problem though is I Don't Know Jack where is Jack's chrome shop there you go like I said I don't know Jack what's the location what state rat terrier thanks great show keep it up good work keep the shiny side up and the dirty side down be safe drivers
Before my uncle had the International, he too owned a 379. But sold it cause he wanted a truck that was like a “Airplane” And was aerodynamic. Such a disappointment.
@Ethan Johnson riiight. Im 6'6 and i don't own any shorts or flip flops. Not sure why you would be offended by saying there isn't enough leg room in a 379. Perhaps you should work on not being so easily offended. There is a phrase we use for easily offended people
Has the narrowest cab of any conventional truck, has a direct mount clutch pedal which is prone to break and have problems... It is nothing more than an over rated piece of crap... My long nose Mack (with cab mounted stacks) not only looks better, and rides better, but it is roomier, and will out pull any Pete

The most beautiful truck ever built. Hands down
Yes
Best ride too.
Love that you mentioned the Film Black Dog, thats where I first saw the 379 as a kid and have loved them ever since. Incredibly rare to see any over here in the UK
Yes! That was where my love of Peterbilt began!
My mother presently drives a 379 that was built in 1999 and has Caterpillar's 3406E drive engine.

#11 ...Peterbilt 379 has a song that Tony justice sings!!!
Who thumbs down the Peterbilt video? Probably a Volvo guy.
Yeah probably lol. I gotta kenworth myself but prefer kenworth and peterbilt
steering wheel holders
Just mad cuz a Peterbilt blew his turban off..
"Ain't nothin finer than a three seven niner"
Nothing finer than a Freightliner
I prefer my 2 359's and 3 369's
@@lukebecker1959 lol
Ain’t nothing as sweet as a long nose Pete.
The best truck man ever made.period.

You guys did another great job putting these videos together, well done!
Thanks for watching 🙏

Anthony's truck w/ SWOOP paint job is a 2011 389 glider not a 379 .
Can't go wrong with a 379. I'd love to see 10 things you didn't know about the R model Mack.
That I’d an excellent idea
I know one fact about Peterbuilt truck
It's Optimus Prime

such a beautiful truck even the 389 is cool
"Vertically Blessed" what a great moniker that I didn't use over the past 41 years...
Funny when talking about the 379 having the most powerful engines available they showed a c12 lol
Yes they were! Just not big power
The engine after the Cat (my favorite) was an ISX 15 Cummins...big on everything...We had a polished and chromed out 379 with a C-15 in it....awesome truck!!
The Bois 12.7 Detroit’s were my second favorite engine. N14s were decent too. I don’t hate the X but like any emissions engine they are finicky
C12 in the top 10 engines.
Good info!
I will keep my 359 , Thanx
I'm a veteran bus driver, I always wanted to get my hands on a 379.
I got one for sale, a 1988
I drive by the Hoffman show truck almost every day. Still looks good.
Hey..... nice 👌
My 1st truck was a 379💪💪 loved that truck
I love my 379 !!!
You know who you would love?
Optimus Prime.
379 is for those who like driving more than making $.
379's....best trucks out there
Bought me a 96 the hell with the new trucks
My 1st truck was a 379💪👍
Excellent episode!
Y'all keep showing the outside of the trucks. Could y'all start showing the dashboards, cabs, and bunks! Thanks! We live inside these trucks, not just walking or rolling by them.
Peterbilt 379 is a tough truck no argument...but in cab room it sucks.
And the ride sucks. I'm the biggest 379 fan out there but out of the 4 I owned, they seemed to feel every bump in the road compared to the Freightliner and Internationals I've drove.
I'm still torn between the 379 and the W9. KW had more interior goodies (like my Studio), but the Pete had the looks (like my 379X). I miss them both.
There you go thumbs up on the 379 the only problem though is I Don't Know Jack where is Jack's chrome shop there you go like I said I don't know Jack what's the location what state rat terrier thanks great show keep it up good work keep the shiny side up and the dirty side down be safe drivers
Lafayette, Indiana
Thank goodness the 377 was phased out, long live the 379/389
Ed Wu the 377 wasn’t ugly
377 was a fine truck too, just not as good looking
Well, I actually did know all of this!
Before my uncle had the International, he too owned a 379. But sold it cause he wanted a truck that was like a “Airplane” And was aerodynamic. Such a disappointment.
Im sure the profitability wasn't disappointing
@@joshriles84 Perhaps the International reliability, maintenance, and resale didn't help the profit column.
One of the best ever built hands down 🔫💪🇺🇸
There ain't nothing. Better on the road this is yo friendly truck driver Cecil lay an phantom 379 🔫💪🇺🇸
Am i the only one who came here to see if there was anything about optimua prime
379's are ok but they cant compete with the room and comfort of a W-900L studio package and fyi the last good 379's rolled out in 1989
what did Pete do to piss you off in 1990?
Speaking of Black Dog, Patrick Swayze actually was a trucker in real life.
Far roomier cab??? Have you ever been in one they are tiny compared to some other manufacturers..
It feels like a cockpit not confined
Calm down 62 flip flop they said at the time they was made
As a "verticality blessed" driver i have to argue the leg room in a 379 it's awful.. I'll stick with my cascadia
@Ethan Johnson riiight. Im 6'6 and i don't own any shorts or flip flops. Not sure why you would be offended by saying there isn't enough leg room in a 379. Perhaps you should work on not being so easily offended. There is a phrase we use for easily offended people
I love Peterbilt Peterbilt is the most famous truck that I want to drive even Peterbilt Optimus prime!
Aaaaaaawesome
Peterbilt 379 Pride -

Shoot I knew all that
Movie cameos shouldn’t be part of the facts about trucks...
Hm. We’ll have to take that into consideration.
Please do not title videos incorrectly. People already knew these 10 things.
That big flat bumper must waste one mile per gallon.
I moved on.... 389!
Then they put a crappy dash in them in the end
Do you know what the number 379 stands for....
379 guesses?
whats wrong with video quality
???
One over rated truck in my 35 years of driving that was my least liked truck.I will take a W900 any day.
10 things you diddnt know about a 379. Hurr durr it was in movie and these are optimus stax. fucking really?
Спору нет машина красивая но на хуя такое дикое количество лампочек
👍😉

I like this semi truck’s designs with the peterbilt 389 pride and class designs better than all small 🚗🚕🚙🚓🚔🚘🚖🚓🛻 designs
