Are you using fresh cow's milk, not store bought?
I looked in the south/south central area in Missouri for Bresse. Springfield has hatching eggs, but the ad showed white chickens, dark chickens, and some they called splash, all as Bresse chickens… I thought all Bresse were white. can you clarify that for me?
Yes there are different colors but most popular is white
Where did you buy those rope wire movable checken fences?
If you use another color of Bresse is the meat the same?
Would it help with the inbreeding since most people only have white?

It is great dual purpose breed, but little noisy than other breed like breeder Orpington. With the feed price going way up, I am probably give up raising chicken.
Do you raise Bresse chickens? I love how active and how they are great foragers. With the feed prices going up I am definitely going to focus even more on quality over quantity.
If you have the area free range them. I live in Georgia. I dont even feed mine in the winter. No really I have not fed a chicken regularly in many years. No need for it
@@BRWfilms I don't have enough land. Otherwise, just build a few piles of hay to attract bugs. I returned from south GA trip yesterday.. and the weather there is nice and hot (~83F).

Do you mean feed consumption or type of feed?
@@The.Recreational.Homestead feed consumption rate. Meat birds eat feed like crazy to grow.... does the Bresse? Or is it more like a typical chick?
I don’t think anything can eat like a Cornish cross, but Bresse can eat and you do not want them to run out at all. They will turn on each other quick.
Do you have different Bresse lines? I'd like to avoid too much inbreeding. If you don't have different lines do you know where I can get some?
There has only been 3 imports of Bresse chickens to the USA and I have all 3 of those imports in my flock. Check out this video of mine that explains it a little more and let me know if you have any more questions How many hatcheries should you get your breeding stock from

@@The.Recreational.Homestead I just pre ordered a box of chicks from you for 8/8/22. My soon to be here chicks are coming from Green Fire I think it's called. Is it possible to make sure what I'm getting from you is a different line? Is that possible or do I need to seek out more info from the other place?
Actually they're coming from Global Poultry who gets them from Green Fire I think is the name.
Most of my stock came from a guy who has been breed them as long as the Bresses have been in the states so there as far away from green fire (the farm that imported them) as you can get. Thanks for ordering from us!
So with corn being GMO how good is that for feeding them ?
You can get non-GMO corn

Where do you get your bresse chicks?
I will be selling chicks in the spring. I do not have anyone I would recommend getting bresse chicks from sorry to say but all the chick I bought had problems and I culled all of them. If you are willing to hatch your own go to eBay and get them from mrfrank7. Let me know if you need anything else
