I definitely need to do that, what do you think that video should look like talking about spiral mating while doing chore or sitting down and drawing pictures explaining it?

@@The.Recreational.Homestead I think an over view of what spiral is and how you do it would be good. I really appreciate todays vid where you talked about how breeding and hatching work together. I’d like to see how you all do it, how that could be scaled down for home grower, what the genetic profile looks like so we can be responsible about passing on birds in small batches to others who want to dabble, and so forth. You don’t have to go into all the science necessarily, but people are looking to AB for sustainability and there’s so much more to it than I ever considered.

You are a busy guy and have a lot going on! One question, no urgency, but I volunteer with a FFA and 4-H Club and was wondering if I should introduce the poultry interested kids to American Bresse or do you think it would be best to stick to a more conventional (ordinary) breed?

You should totally choose American Bresse! They are amazing, and beautiful birds! I would love to see this breed flourish in the US!

Got a question: I got a batch of American Bresse and 2 died during travel and 1 died overnight. With that said I had other breed of chickens and I don't remember to have such a high morality rate. Should I be concerned with this kind of breed? To be clear I did not buy the chicks from you.

Getting chicks shipped is very hard on them. I just bought 25 chicks. They were shipped Wednesday morning, and arrived across the country in one day, and then sat around in the major metro area near me the entire day (I hope they were in okay conditions). One was dead (that's unfortunately expected with shipped chicks) and stiff as a board. Most of the rest of them seemed lethargic (which is also expected).

i have a question, how many chickens do you have in those suscovich tractors and how often do you clean the shavings out? I'm thinking of setting our tractor up on blocks and filling it with wood chips to build garden soil for the spring.

Right now I have 13 hens and one rooster in each tractor, 12 hens and one rooster is what I like but I am always pushing the envelope 😂 I put one bag of shavings in each one per week and clean each one every week. I could probably go 4 weeks with out cleaning and just add shavings and I may try that.

The volume is all over the place. Goes from normal to screaming to barely being able to hear anything. I have my speakers almost all the way up in the quite parts. I can't watch/listen to the rest.
