Impressive video. The wet sand made a huge difference in bringing the clear back to life.

Fantastic video! Thank you for this. I have a blk ram 1500 that I've been hesitant on wet sanding scratches and little bit of oxidation out of it. You have assured me that that I'm good to go. Thanks again!

👍👍👍. I just bought a 2011 Honda Civic that has the beginning of the Honda Clear Coat oxidation. Never done anything like this, have to buy a polisher, but gonna give it a try. At this point, doubt I'd hurt anything.

My 2016 truck was repainted three years ago and the paint is in great shape with no swirls but just a couple of moderate scratches and no dents (knock wood). I spent four hours washing and claying, and am breaking this into a 2-3 day project. If I use compound to buff out those scratches, do I need to compound the entire vehicle before polishing and waxing? My challenge is the small time windows provided by Colorado's hot summer weather (with unforecasted light rain bursts in the afternoon), and the fact that my truck doesn't fit in my garage. Would greatly appreciate your advice!

great work bro, what would you advise to completely get out the sanding marks? can you add compunds together like a bit of meguiars and a courser compound on the pad at same time?

The meguiars ultra-cut compound is more coarser the the ultimate compound. I do not recommend using the same pad

They are both good just need the right pad

Does this last? I buffed my oxidized paint with ultimate compound and a cheap rotating buffer I got from AutoZone and it really end up like a mirror finish but after 2 months the oxidation look came back and now is dull. How long this technique of yours would last?

Follow it up with a good wax to help retain its shine. It’ll also help with uv protection.

Could I do just the polish with a ceramic wax after and get a good look? Inexperienced DIYer looking for shine and light swirl removal. Thanks

Following up with a wax will enhance the shine/wet look. Maintaining the clearcoat will be key for a good shine in the years to come.

thanks for the video. just curious why is the compound no designed that way?

It’s made for light wet sanding and buffing, the compound itself it not too course (gritty feel). A courser compound will make buffing a little easier when the entire panel has been wet sanded.

Depending on the clearcoat. Wool pad for heavy cut foam for medium cut

There are several variables used to determine the amount of compound that is needed. #1 how badly oxidized the panel is, #2 the type of compound used ( there are some that are heavy cut some that are not ) #3 the type of buffing pad. In this case I used a cheap buffing pad and a general use compound hence the amount I used. Thanks for watching
