    The Bogner Ecstasy Red overdrive follows in the footsteps of the famous Ecstasy head and contains much of the same functionality and high gain tones of the amp's red channel. Starting with a circuit that uses multiple class A gain stages and no op-amps or diode clipping, the Ecstasy Red can delivers dynamics and note definition that is faithful to the Bogner sound. Multiple modes change not only the intensity and tone but overall voice and attack while Bogner's well known Pre-EQ allows you to match this pedal to your rig with the utmost precision. The structure selections take you through 3 unique amp types from Bogner's history, each with their own frequency emphasis and gain structure. Plus you can tailor any mode with the interactive 3 band EQ and push everything with a footswitchable boost that comes compete with illuminated trimpots for volume and gain amounts.

    My friend bought one of these not too long ago. I use it through his Badcat or Brunetti combos for overdrive or distortion and it is so versatile. Used on a Les Paul custom, a cheap Squire strat, or Guild semi hollow, and it was impossible to make it sound bad. Tons of tone tweaking. There is enough gain on tap without even having to use the boost. You wont need another amp in a box pedal or OD/distortion pedal if you get this. So responsive like an amp. Highly recommended. $300 quality pedal.

    One of the best overdrive/distortion pedal I've ever tried, the tone with a right setting and a good valve amp is amazing.
    It's an extremely dynamic pedal that doesn't admit mistakes or smearing even at high levels of gain...

    This is a very musical pedal with a ton of gain, and IMO it's about the best amp channel like pedal on the market along with its blue channel sister. The only down side is on the red pedal is if you use high gain pickups you will have to back the gain down and watch out how much gain you add in during the boost. I had all 3 of them a week before they in stores. Glad to see Pro Guitar Shop with them in stock.

    Thanks so much for the examples. I have a similar amp and was curious how this pedal would react. It's difficult trying to find a good distorted pedal for Fender that doesn't go straight to mush. The most unique style on YT, I dig it. The voice reminds me of my therapist when I was 12 y.o. though....kinda creeps me

    The Bogner Ecstacy Red is by far the best overdrive distortion pedal I've ever tried, it reacts really like an amp (also directly on a mixer with a good cab simulator), this pedal has great dynamic and tone, but doesn't forgive any mistakes...

    • @tylerw9984
      @tylerw9984 9 років тому

      ***** Buzzy, fuzzy, lacks any dynamics?
      Honestly I do not know what kind of Bogner you've tried it ...however de gustibus my friend

    • @tylerw9984
      @tylerw9984 9 років тому

      ***** It seems very strange, my bogner never had problems like this, the only thing I noticed is that it hasn't an extreme amount of gain , but the dynamics and tone are amazing.
      In my opinion I don't think it's due to the speaker, try with another amp or try to bypass the preamp of your amplifier (use the return input), or if you have a good amp emulator such as a sansamp or similar try connecting the bogner straight on a PA (my red sounds really great even so).

    • @tylerw9984
      @tylerw9984 9 років тому

      *****
      Yes you are right,
      I think that probably the Laney IRT has
      an input sensitivity that doesn’t reacts well
      with other overdrives or
      distortion pedals, or
      in particular with the Red, after all the IRT has been
      designed to have already a good hi gain
      tone.
      In my personal experience, pedals like the Red, the
      Plexitone, the Slo Wampler, the Wampler Pinnacle, the Triple Wreck etc. requires
      single-channel amplifiers with neutral tone that leaves unchanged the tone of
      the pedal.
      I'm glad you've solved the problem

    • @StaySharpFacas
      @StaySharpFacas 8 років тому

      +Tyler W I have the Plexitone but I really miss the eq on it. Does the ecstasy Red have the same amount of gain or a tad more if I need to?

    • @tylerw9984
      @tylerw9984 8 років тому

      I have the Plexitone too, The Red has a completely different tone compared to the Carl Martin, however the amount of the gain on the Red is enough to compete with the Plexitone.
      I usually use the PT with the crunch knob at 12 o'clock and the high gain knob at 2 o'clock, the amount of gain with this setting is easily achieved with the Red.
      Two different tones but both are great pedals.
