This is fantastic. Thank you so much for making this video. I don’t trust those dam pumps either. Old school for the win.

At 0:53 were you say at idle it supposed to be aligned there. That is way too low. Your supposed to have it lined up with the bottom line were you can see it has 2 line marked. That might be the problem of oil pump not working.

So the oil pump was always adjusted about one line width above the alignment mark at idle. Slightly rich. Plugs always read rich. It's totally disconnected from the cable now. When my engine went last time. One cylinder was bone dry inside with absolute no oil even in the sump. The other cylinder had plenty of blue oil all over. And well lubricated. Running the engine even when mixed showed one side of the pump outputting essentially nothing even when swung up to full deflection. Piston scored on intake side when it failed showing a lack of lubrication which was obvious. This is my second oil pump failure in 15000 km and 20 years. Thanks for the input. Just to clarify pump was aligned correctly and checked and adjusted each year. Too afraid to trust anymore. Thanks.. cheers

Hey man, first of all great video. I’ve got a question for you if you don’t mind me, asking. So, I deleted the oil pump on a two stroke dirtbike with a Mikuni carb. The Mikuni carb had a oil and induction line that would carry the oil to the carb where it would mix with the gas and air. When you delete the oil pump, this induction line no longer has oil pumping through it, so it creates a vacuum / lean condition I think I’m not sure. I’ve read a variety of different solutions to this problem. Some some people say to plug it, some people say to run a line down to the bottom of the float bowl where it would circulate the gas (in this case oil gas mix, since you’re premixing).
Are you familiar with this issue im having?
When i do the circulating solution, my bike starts, but it will rev high at first and bog down and die when i put it in gear. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. ✌️

In that case it's a simple solution. Just plug it. If you leave it as it is you will never tune it correctly especially at lower rpm. DO NOT connect it to anything. If you connect it to the carb bowl you will run rich and ot will sick gas and feed the carb to much fuel thru that port. Just plug it and you will be fine.

Why have a oil pump on a vehicle that can't pull up to a gas station... not worth the risk imo

Where I live snowmobiles are always pulling up to gas stations to fill up. But too many oil injection failures and toasted engines.
