Ah, this is so refreshingly positive. It is not just that the scale appears to be approaching a sustainable, critical mass, but also the number of companies involved. Thank you for sharing.
So many people were saying “watch this space”, really promising and such a difference from a year ago in regard to TT:120. It was a really good, interesting and useful show.
Hi Chris, the video shows a very encouraging future for TT. I was going to speak to you when I saw you at the show yesterday, I was at the Key Model World stand but didn’t want to interrupt your conversation with Martyn at the Hornby stand, when I looked again moments later you were gone and didn’t see you again. Looking forward to future interviews.
Exciting times for TT120. I came in at just the right time. Can't wait to see what happens over the next few years. Thanks for the heads up about Roco stuff on guage master site. Love the detail. More money to be spent 😮
Sounds good looks like a bright future. Must be an amazing show to be able to go to. Lucky for me that lots of you tubers make videos for us international viewers. Thanks Chris
Was a pleasure to see you! If it adds to the suspence, I couldn't even tell you about a OO gauge announcement even if it were being done the next day... ;-)
No worries Richard. Please excuse me for so blatantly using you as click bait. But I just knew they couldn’t resist you 🤣 Pleasure to meet you too. Thanks again for your time.
All v v v very positive , i still have loads of Triang TT stuff in the loft ,i have always said TT is the thinking mans gauge big enough for good detail but small enough to make a bigger layout in small spaces .We need another major maker to take the plunge and i wager the rest will follow
Sounds good . I explored flying down from Glasgow but couldn’t make it work . Instead i went to the modelling show in Perth . As you say some cracking scale models , we can certainly learn from scale modellers . Sounds like there might be lots to look forward to . Still pondering an HST set to get me going
I was there Saturday morning, I did wonder if you'd be there. I was really impressed with how open and honest the Hornby folk were with answering questions. I saw some good stuff out there, I'd struggle to get the class 37 on display onto my layout but I'm willing to try! 😂. I think May is going to be a busy month for my credit card with all the TT releases.
It gave me lots of flashbacks to my youth as my Dad used to run a model shop and each year in the town, his business partner organised a big show for all the model making hobbies. It was crazy to set up but definitely a lot of fun to be involved with. I'm really pleased it was a success for the team there too 😊
Great video so far! No worries on the coaches with the Class 50. Those are the appropriate Mk 2s. Easy way to spot the Mk 2 coaches is by the smooth roof, compared to the corrugated roof of the Mk 3. Cheers!
If Hornby gets beaten to the market for a Eurostar, I would be shocked. That would be a huge tactical blunder on the part of Hornby. The Piko Ice 3 is different enough from the Velaro model used on the e320, that I doubt any of their existing tooling would be useable. This would need to be created from the ground up. So, we'd be looking at an entirely new tooling. Either way, this is great news!
Hahahaha “it won’t last” they said. Let this be a testament and a massive 2 fingers up to every naysayer negative Nelly fun sponge that has been spouting gibberish since the scale was first launched!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Onwards and Upwards!
Don't tell RMWeb, they will go into meltdown. But in all seriousness, I think any scale is a bit like nuclear fission. If enough "bullets" are fired, then a reaction gets going. More models are coming, more scenic items will be produced, and more layouts will be built. I think the growth of TT is inevitable at this point.
Ah, so that is all about the answer I got from Piko staff when I asked about a Eurostar Velaro in TT gauge. "Sorry, we cannot tell about it at the moment" together with a certain smile.
Interesting Chris. Glad it was so successful. Looks like a lot on show. I went to the Brisbane Model Train Show this last weekend. Absolutely no TT120 items on show or for sale. Very Dissapointing. There were a few Tri-ang TT items for sale but nothing new. How is the hobby expected to grow here with no support in the market?
@@PeachyTT120 the suppliers said that Hornby has selected 2 outlets in the area who have permission to sell TT120 stock. A search on one of those websites looks like they have no stock on offer. The rest of the suppliers are out in the cold I was told so don't even sell TT scale figures from European suppliers. So this generates no interest in "The Colonies".

Hi Chris hope you are well . Just finished glueing down my layout and things going well 😂 then noticed about a2 to 2.5mm gap on both tracks not derailing just a horrible noise when the old 125 goes over it is there a quick fix to it or rip it all up and start again or could it be soldered or is that to much never soldered before what do you think . Cheers
Totally depends on your skill levels. I’ve soldered a bridging gap many times. Tip; build it up very slowly making sure you cool each blob of solder as you go. Don’t try and do it all at once.
If you are building a model railway in a restricted space, even a whole spare bedroom, why wouldn't you choose TT scale? Obviously tooling investment for companies is still a restriction but 3D technology will move things along nicely. Hornby don't really have any competition at the moment but the quality and detail is superb. The other manufacturers will need to create top quality items also. "Garlic bread" 😀
