  • The E-flite Ultra Stick 1.1m is our first wood model, and this thing is a ton of fun. It's also very customizable and easy to mod. We've already set it up for ailerons and flaps instead of flaperons! Next time it's on the channel, it'll be with that setup. For those of you who are interested in getting the mixes we use here, the Night Timber X setup vid we released a while back covers it: • E-Flite Night Timber X...

what CG is better for new pilots? the instructions say 87mm which is more than halfway through the wing, and sounds very agressive on paper. with a 3s 2.2 that weighs 140g i was barely able to get it to center, and the model really wanted to be nose heavy. second: thank you for responding to every single one of my comments. that "if cleetus can do it, so can you" is why i havent given up yet. flying my US and crashing just showed me how much i dont know yet, and my 500hrs on the simulator did less than i expected. the internet says that the aeroscout is the best 4ch beginner plane out, do you agree? your knowledge and experience is keeping me in the air. best informative RC channel on YT(tail heavy productions is good, but they dont engage with viewers like two brothers does) THANKS JOHN!!! hope to meet you one day.

Further forward is better for newer pilots. Further back is preferred for more experienced pilots.
The AeroScout is our go-to recommendation for newer pilots who want to learn how to fly:

Nice plane, I have made a variation on the stik, Das Kombat Stik, It's a combination of the Combat Wing and Das Ugly Stik. V2 to be built shortly.

It's an amazing little plane. Got mine last week, and have flown about 20 packs through it. My only real complaint is it does have a lot of rudder coupling, but other than that, it flies beautifully. Like it is on rails. The pushrod threads are 2-56. I upgraded the clevises on all surfaces from the stock plastic to steel. Added the optional wheel pants and a pair of dubro 2 1/4" wheels. It looks a lot better with the wheel pants IMO, and also help with orientation when far away. I can see the white wheel pants above or below the plane from a fair distance quite easily.

Unlock the receiver by following ua-cam.com/video/F3isbv1U8eM/v-deo.html, write down the AS3X gains, factory reset the receiver, and set it back up again. It will understand the flaperon wing type at that point. Pretty easy once you do it a few times!

The sound of the wheels absolutely doesnt matter. THe plane is on the wheels for mere seconds at a time. A bit of noise means nothing and has zero affect on how the plane performs.
