I just spent so long on that
Holy shit, you're near the 150K subscribers milestone. You've grown a lot since i subscribed. Good job!
Evo you should make a park based off every period like the
Triassic period the Jurassic period cretaceous. Period.
I so glad that this is coming back, it was so amazing to see the dinosaurs just living.
Yea like a lot of dino docs are just the dinos killing each other
Yea I agree I hope spin-off and giga come!!!!❤ I love this series ❤🎉
@@rachelconnell9624 True. This is Prehistoric Planet's main thing that it is not just dino fights, but general life like basking in the sun, playing with siblings, etc.
Exactly! I heard some people complained they didn't really learn anything new watching PP (I did learn a lot, I guess the complaining ones are semi-profesional paleontologists, lol) but I just enjoyed the visuals showing the slightly strange yet beautiful display of what life on this planet might had been like in the distant past 😌.
Dinosaur: *being a terrible Dino documentary*
65: *just showing movie monsters*
Prehistoric Planet: “Fine. I’ll do it myself”
I think the reason why we're going back to Maastrichtian Late Cretaceous is because there were a lot of bts things that didn't make it into S1, like a scene where some Rajasaurus were hunting baby Isisaurus in Late Cretaceous India, so it's possible that they decided to finish up those other scenes and then split them into 2 seasons, which explains why we're seeing Tarchia and T. rex again and how a new season came so quickly in not even a year after the first one. Also, there's still like a ton of things to explore in just the Maastrichtian age of the Cretaceous period.
Wait Tarchia was in S1?
@@gabrieldale5156 yeah it was a background animal in the watering hole scene in the Deserts episode.
That would make sense. Hopefully, after this is completed, we’ll move on to other time periods. I’m not against a Late Cretaceous focus, but there are other equally fascinating periods to explore
@@gabrieldale5156 yep. There were a few during the waterhole scene
Heck no, why more Late Cretaceous I want to see the freaking Jurassic!
As much as I want a series set in the late Jurassic, I must admit I’m pretty flipping excited to see what Apple Tv+ is cooking.
While I'm a bit disappointed that we're going back to the Masttrachian period, I can't wait. In hindsight, returning to this time period actually allows us a chance to see more species that were ignored/not shown up in the series. My biggest species wants to show up is Alamosaurus, pachycephalosaurs, more focus on Ankylosaurs (which we seem to be getting with the Tarchia), and maybe some more non dinosaur creatures like mammals, birds, and crocodiles. The ammonite showed that they aren't afraid of giving non dinosaur, pterosaur, or marine reptiles starring roles for a segment, so here's hoping maybe birds mammals and crocodiles will get a role.
I think they're working towards the extinction event as a big showstopper. Otherwise I don't know why you would start a brand new dinosaur series in the late Cretaceous and then revisit that same period in the second season. I wonder how they are going to make it interesting
@@EvolutionSquare Who knows? I kinda don't want it to end with the extinction event. Just feels a bit overdone, but I guess with these visuals and dino models, it'll definitely be a visual spectacle.
Either way, 2023 is certainly the year of Paleo docs, with this, Forgotten Bloodlines: Agate, and that new Netflix series Life On Our Planet coming out.
And I guess Steven Fry's "documentary", but let's not talk about that.
@@EvolutionSquare my best guess is that S2 is gonna be mostly stuff that didn’t make it through post production in time for May 2022, like the Rajasaurus and Isisaurus sequence that was leaked a while back
2:58 yeah I wish we could see other time periods. Liopleurodon, the Triassic, Brachiosaurus, etc
Sadly no Jurassic
Perhaps next season
I think they're sticking with 66 milion years ago because by then grasses and flowering plants were established, so they can sorta reasonably use modern forests as a backdrop. If they go any earlier it would be a lot trickier to use modern settings or would have to generate entire ecosystems which would involve a lot more work.
that is actually a very good point!
I'm happy crying. First Vox Akuma comes back form hiatus, now this? It's a good day.
Why did vox go on hiatus? I'm still grieving over Pikamee
i hope we get a look at a Spinosaurus or a Utahraptor soon that in wonderful CGI but as it seems it is set 66 million years ago that wont be soon, so it looks like i will have to wait till season 3, BUT i am still as hyped as ever cuz you know DINOSAURS!
My episode wishlist for season 2: 😀
𝑰𝒔𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒔: This episode starts where season one ended, with a Hatzegopteryx flying to a new hunting ground, the Ibero-Armorican Island. Other island ecosystems are also discussed.
𝑴𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒔: The episode follows various creatures in their struggle for survival in high altitude habitats. It would be a good occasion to showcase the pachycephalosaurs from Laramidia.
𝑷𝒍𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒔: The episode explores lowlands, with a particular focus on some of the first grasslands to ever appear. The Lameta Formation of India is an excellent candidate for representation.
𝑾𝒆𝒕𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒔: The episode talks about water-rich regions. It could be a prime opportunity to display crocodyliforms and freshwater turtles, both very diverse at the end of the Cretaceous.
𝑺𝒖𝒓𝒗𝒊𝒗𝒐𝒓𝒔: Unlike previous episodes, this one doesn't deal with a specific biome from a lost world, but with the living survivors of said lost world, and how they managed to live on.
All of these are awesome ideas, with actual facts to support them. Couldn't have thought of better!
Only issue with the Survivors episode. It would mean either end of Prehistoric Planet, or post Meteor era only. But it can be fixed by ignoring it for future or making it so uninteresting that no one would notice. Ignoring is the best outcome for the series(sooner or later), but it would make it controversial.
Well the survivor episode won’t happen for many reasons but one of them is because it’s set in 66 million years go million year apart
I loved it. Can’t wait to see Tarchia, Rajasaurus, and Isisaurus.
Yes
I want them to do something with a Spinosaurus.
Without just a fight with another dinosaurs
It'll be nice to experience the Dino's once again
Need to have the dino content coming up growing up
I hope we get a prehistoric crocodilian. Show us simosuchus or armadillosuchus
I want spinosaurus allosaurus ceratosaurus rugops concavenator and majungasaurus
@@crimsonfox_yeah late cretaceous so no jurassic and early cretaceous species
@@altithoraxperotorum5133 at least we hopefully get spino and rugops
@@crimsonfox_yeah no since it's late cretaceous and those are early cretaceous dinosaurs
I like them dinosaurs but they have no imagination so no i an not for show
Massive W i loved the first season, w.
Let's hope we'll see some pachycephalosaurs and terrestrial crocodiles
I’ve seen there is another special coming out that depicts the extinction in much more depth than WWD or When Dinosaurs Roamed America. While Prehistoric Planet would surely blow it out of the water portraying it… man, that’s gonna be brutal. Idk if I’d want to see if 😂😂
So excited to see more species
I really need to watch season 1 because when it came out last year, I was really busy and couldn’t find the time to watch it and I sort of forgot about it over time. Now that there’s going to be a season 2, I really want to watch it.
I hope they feature a spinosaurus, would be cool to see there take on one
Unfortunately all of the spinosaurs died out before the period this is set in
@@Daft_Vader oh i didnt know that, I though spino and trex lived around the same time in the late cretaceous
No they did not read it up kingfrost
There goes my hopes for Season 2 gonna focus on Jurassic Dinosaurs this time... Ah well, I'm just grateful to get a season 2 of a show I don't have an account for. Lol
I kinda hope we get more scenes of dinosaurs hunting and fighting. While I definitely think that that can be over done PP felt like it was trying to avoid it too much which is also wrong.
I want to see Rajasaurus and Isisaurus in season 2, hope they don't cancel them like they did in season 1.
Yep
This week could be even better if Frontier announce that update. “Hint hint wink wink”
omg yes that would be excellent
I doubt this is gonna happen but i would love to see some from the Jurassic periode, like seeing an Allosaur, Dilpo and Stego would be cool
I wasn’t hoping for season 2 be set the Jurassic Period too because my favourite Dinosaurs those been Allosaurus and Stegosaurus were from that time, oh well guess we’ll be seeing more of Edmontosaurus and Pachyrhinosaurus doing boring things.
A continuation of the Cretaceous? I was really hoping for Triassic but I'm happy either way. This is going to be so good 😭
I guess since they started in the Cretaceous, it would be kinda weird for a second season to go back further in time. Honestly, season 1 should have been Triassic, season 2 Jurassic and thens eason 3 Cretaceous.
@@EvolutionSquare that would have been ideal, I true successor to walking with dinosaurs
i think they're going back the same dinosaurs and places to save money and meet deadlines. if they were to do something else completely that will take longer and a higher budget, so its safer to go back rather than making all new ones
Yeah why Not the Late Jurassic Morrison formation, or Early Jurassic Kayenta Formation for Future Episodes possibly if a third season gets green-Lighted a possible Formation to see would be Early-Late 230 Million yrs ago Triassic valley of the Moon the dawn of the dinosaurs.
HOLY HOT N’ CRISPY FINGER LICKIN’ GOOD 11 SECRET HERBS & SPICES SEASONED KENTUCKY FRIED FRICK THIS LOOKS AMAZING
Hell yeah
Prehistoric planet season 2
Dinosaurs 🦖 🎉
dinosaurs forever
Yay!! Can’t wait to see another season!!! ❤❤❤
Yeah I agree that it would’ve been cool to see another time period. For example, the Late Jurassic would have been super cool to see with all sorts of unique diversity. Regardless. I’m hyped for this new season!!!
CANT WAIT!!!!
If it’s still on Apple TV+ than I’m going to be so depressed 😞
yes ofc it is still on Apple TV+, they make/own it
Ik but I can hope lol
Merci d’avoir lu
So this is late cretaceous so maybe we'll get alectrosaurus, majungasaurus, possibly Torosaurus, and if they do put spino in season 2, they could make the poster image like, so you know how season 1s poster was the t rex doing something it doesn't usually do, swimming, season 2s poster could be the spinosaurus doing something it usually doesn't do, kill an ouranosaurus and standing on land away from water, or it could be the spinosaurus just ambushed the ouranosaurus from the water like a crocodile with a zebra and is holding it
We got Jurassic world evolution 2 stream happening on the 10th hopefully that means announcement.
An we get an dlc on the 14th or 16th march
Your videos are amazing keep up the amazing videos!
Thank you so much!
Deadass thought the thumbnail was Master Oogway
The Carnotaurus will be back in "Prehistoric Planet 2: Cretaceous Boogaloo"!
keep up the good work!!
Wasn't expecting this, can't wait
I want to see Terror birds, More Ornithomimids, Bayonyx, Carno Getting a mate, Stegosaurids, Spinosaurus, Acrocanthosaurus, Suchimimus, Concavenator, Attenborosaurus and Pteranodon.
That sounds great i would love this 😀 ❤
I'm happy but I really wish they would put out more dinosaurs from Africa, and south america. these places is the land of giants, predators and herbivores alike.
Dinosaurs being animals, Sadly something rare to see
Yes only the trex fk all others dinosaurs
I want to see more non dinosaurian animals a lot more
Please let there be a Maip macrothorax. 🙏 ✨
Evo what medium size carnivore should I put in my park
Carno! In honor of the blue-armed Carno from PRehistoric Planet season 1 lol
@@EvolutionSquare Nice ill try to match that sort of brown color
Awesome video!!!
I’m hype for this I will obviously watch season 2 thanks for some more information
god im so excited!! ive been waiting so long for this!!
im so excited for the new season with THE david attenborough
So happy it's coming back, but also surprised it's so soon! I wasn't really expecting to hear about, much less watch, a second season until end of 2023 or early 2024. With how amazing the first season was, I've got big hopes for the next!
Since we are going back to Cretaceous, there are so many species I want to see
Spinosaurus, Giganotosaurus, Carcharadontosaurus, Torosaurus, Argentinosaurus
You know what? More, the better
I 120% agree with you
I really wanted it to be set in the Jurassic period because I would love to see an Allosaurus in this quality, excluding JP/W Allosaurus last really good allo was way back in the early 2000s
Woo hoo yeah baby, can't wait for it to happen
Another baby murd round😍
hahahahaha yes
Fr hoping we get spinosaurus
Can't wait for it!
I know the T-Rex is the most famous dinosaur, but it's in basically EVERY piece of dino media. I want focus on other dinosaurs not the same one over and over and over again.
The T. Rex was a minor part in season 1, so I feel like they've done their due diligence in stepping away from the obvious choices, but to a layman you can't have a dinosaur show and not have the T. Rex. That's how you bring in the non-paleo-nerds.
@EvolutionSquare And that's a fair point. But it's like doing a documentary on the wildlife of the world, and always going to back to the lion. Despite there being so many other creatures that would probably so much more unique and interesting, the lion is what the spotlight always falls toward. It just seems so narrow sighted, having the whole world at your fingertips tips and still sticking to the one spot as a focus.
That's is right so many others to used
Exited for it! Hopefully way better than “dinosaur”
I have only watched a few episodes and I loved it so can’t wait for season 2
I hope it’s not the cretaceous again NOOOOOOOOOO
Woooooooo 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you for saving me from a keyboard rating video also yay new evo upload
Are they scared to feature Spinosaurus? 🤣🤔
hahaha probably
in five years Spinosaurus is gonna be classified as a flying reptile or something and then the series will be outdated haha
No it not mistake I know the confusion but it looks more like who cares a fk spinos
I love the spinosaurus and wish to see them again its time for this spiece to
Even if they could get to real one never Shows up because they stupidly jwccs5 destroy anyway for the dinosaurs to just like i thought they did this forever curse
Woo hoo yeah baby, can't wait
such a phenomenal show.
Yay. More dinosaurs. Can't wait for season 2.
my life has meaning now!
I am so excited 🥳🤩
I hope we see the spno
Don't worry, you pronounced Tarchia correctly! Tarchia is one of my favourite ankylosaurs. It's an Asian ankylosaurid which means we're probably going to be seeing Tarbosaurus, a very close relative of Tyrannosaurus.
tarbosaurus was also is season 1 was it not? In the desert with the velociraptor (scenes included in the trailer)
@@EvolutionSquare Oh yeah I forgot! I've only seen the season once. Well I hope we see Alioramus, another one of my favourites.
I'm a day late but I'm excited
Giga? Spino? Utahraptor?
Nice, but did already see the project Forgotten Bloodlines? basically PP during the Miocene!
NO WAY FINALLY I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE SEASON 2 I LOVE IT
My mind has just been thinking about Prehistoric Planet because of this news, I’m so excited XD
OMG its literally around the corner WHAT. ALREADY!?!?? We are getting treated
Cool
Hope they do all the periods this time
looks like they are sticking with late cretaceous, probably working towards the extinction event
Yesssss I can't wait
please spino please spino please spino 😭
Spinosaurus wasn't around anymore 66 million years ago :(
@@EvolutionSquare :( I can dream
It could be any time they could go back in time to show that their many others to dinosaurs but hell no we hate them
Nice to see a paleo accurate Raj, sick of seeing the joke of a Raj from Dinosaur King.
I'm so excited also the fact of how my birthday is 23rd of May THIS IS BEFORE MY BIRTHDAY So this is kinda special to me.
If you have the student discount for Apple Music, they give Apple TV+ for free
I wanna see Giga, Spino, Pyro and etc!
Pyro maybe, but giga and spino lived earlier on in the Cretaceous
All I want from season 2 is: ANKYLOSAURUS
Tarchia is cool though
Like as soon as I saw the thumbnail I was like ANK??!!
Ps: ank is my favorite dinosaur
I cant wait for a season 2 of prehistoric planet it's going to be amazing just like the first season
TARCHIA OMG
Yes! New season!
wooohooooo!!!
I'm glad they're bringing it back but I wished they would go to a different period like the Jurassic.
Let's goooooooooooo!🤩🤩🤩 I'm so happy right now😂 and sir David is narrating again, could not ask for more.
I may get my free week of AppleTV+ when Prehistoric Planet S2 releases, but for now I'ma be a pirate!
Even tho this is not jwe2 i have a question, and it would be awsome if you could do it, Could you make a park called jurassic kingdom, i dont know if something like that already exists😅. And i would love if it was on the classic jurassic park map it would be awsome if you could do it, And please build it how ever you want.
😁 PS if you dont want to do it its fine .👍
66MYA? A negative thing?
Its give the viewer a better idea what creatures did exist when the asteroid wiped out the dinosaurs.
In the first season, I was surprised that many creatures lived until the end like therizinosaurus, pachyrhinosaurus and carnotaurus.
Despite the articles showed that the number of species were dropping 66MYA, this proved that they did diverse much better than first thought.
Who knows, maybe alamosaurus, isisaurus, rajasaurus, rapetosaurus, majungasaurus, torosaurus, armadillosuchus, sinoceratops or perhaps shantungosaurus will get the spotlight in season two?
Shame it's 66 mya, I really, REALLY want to see Spinosaurus in the scientific big screen 😕
Looking like spinosaurus will never be see evermore again fk jwcc5 hell no-one cares
@@aaronknight1430 Real shame, the cretaceous is not the only period with unteresting and awsome species.
The dinosaurs Timeline has many different animals in the world after all 230-65million years of history so it a interesting time into geohistory so much more secret and dinosaurs than one time that this shows fixed on I find it has more than enough for others inc the great spinosaurus spieces more time if history
