Guy Martin- "If you let the slightest bit of doubt creep into your mind then you'll be dead. I like stuff like that"
Yeah he's a bit of a national treasure in the UK
Yeh but at the Northwest 200 any time it rained he shut the race down...I say it's a road race and I don't care if it effing snowing keep racing and don't be a wimp. Drive to the conditions .
@@robertkidd6270 yeah but you're a real man. Not soft like that Guy Martin.
Fool. You need to be protected from yourself.

Guy Martin is a brave, brilliant rider and a superb mechanic - total legend.
worthy of a man crush!
Not as good as Joey dunlop,,! From northern Ireland UK,!

😂😂😂
i live near Guy Martin and we walk our dogs together - he is such a laid back guy, really calm and polite - he just becomes a complete nutter on a bike!!!
When you see Guy Martin and listen to him, he just seems like a good guy. In my eyes, he is one of the greatest athletes in the world.
the red mist!
He’s going to be super chill. Takes a lot to excite a person who races like that. Only thing close is a fighter jet or sky diving or something. Anything else in life would be boring
@@hondanut143”close” buddy skydiving I’ve seen 16 years old women do 😂 skydiving isn’t dangerous at all the accidents happen once in 20 years 😂 don’t compare TT with baby sports like skydiving or base jumping I do both. Also raced at the North West 200. Base jumping is kid’s play 😂
You've got to realise these guys have memorized the entire track, every single inch, every bump, every crack in the road, everything
I drive the same way to work every day but couldn’t do at 195 mph lol
Still its insane kid, there s a good road just a few km from my house and i ve driven it hundreds of times, when i all out it still scares the shit out of me and im never pushing more than 8/10. These lads are giving 11/10 and got nerves of steel
You are very very wrong. Most of them go there from all over the world, for just a few days to compete. They do not have the luxury of knowing everything you say, only with two or three passes they make before the race. It's a 37 miles route and they are not locals..
@@diakojim1977 Talking about the TT? You need to qualify for it through races like this one and some of them race in SB and the likes. Beginners (to the TT) wear high-viz and are shown around by local vets who make sure they know the track, I doubt anyone would even try not having memorised the track by heart because you'd crash at the first corner or go around very slowly.
The Isle of Man isn't Scotland or Ireland, it's an island in between England, Ireland, and Scotland in the Irish Sea. It is a Crown Dependency of the UK, which means whilst it isnt part of the UK it is represented by the UK in international affairs and rules of good governance, but it has its own parliament and is as far as domestic affairs are concerned a separate country. The Queen does hold the title of Lord of Mann though and hence why there is some confusion. It is in effect though a tax haven.
As far as this kind of racing goes, and I'm not expert the TT is a race against the clock (in effect a time trial, though this isn't what TT in the title stands for). The Southern 100 is a race, which is part of a series that also includes similar races in Northern Ireland, though I could be wrong about this. When towards the end it mentioned the Ulster GP it confused me a little as I thought this was a race in Northern Ireland.
They also have actual races on the TT (tourist trophy) circuit (Sneafell Mountain Course), called the Manx GP. I believe that anyone who wants to compete in the TT, has to have competed in the GP first so that they have some knowledge about the course.
Southern 100 is ran in Ireland and usually is used as a "testing ground" for upcoming TT which takes place on Isle of Man.
@@Demjan85 the Southern 100 is on the Isle of Man in Castletown. It’s not a testing ground, it actually takes place after the TT in July. You’re probably thinking of the North West 200 which is a couple weeks prior to the TT on the Causeway Coast of Northern Ireland
I think it's part of the UK(ingdom) but not the govt. of GB.
@@capcompass9298 It has its own parliament and is a Crown Dependency so it's not part of the UK and isn't part of Great Britain as that is a geographical term that relates to the largest island in the British Isles so the one the majority of England, Scotland, and Wales sits on. And before you say Scotland and Wales have parliaments their powers are limited, the Isle of Man's isn't, they say all their tax rates and collect and spend them as well.
Guy Martin has more or less packed in road racing after 3 _massive_ crashes that should have been fatal. One was the giant 190mph fireball crash at the TT that he hobbled away from because he jumped off and flew along the road rather than off it, one was a high side when leading the Ulster GP I think - broke his back - and the final one, when he’d been coaxed out of retirement by the factory Honda team, was a false neutral on the way into a corner at the TT that could have chucked him head first into a wall. A lot of the other names mentioned in commentary in this video are dead through racing crashes or retired through injury. Ian Lougher keeps finding bikes to roadrace despite officially having retired, while Michael Dunlop races despite losing his Uncle, Father & Brother in racing crashes, with other members of his extended family also taken by racing…
That crash was epic. Everything about that crash, location, everything about that crash should say fatal. Bit not to guy Martin!
The Dunlop family are a special breed! I owned an SP-1 for many years, because Joey!
, posisi,
Dunlop has not only balls of steel, but unoxidable balls of steel.
Guy Martin also wouldn't go professional (MotoGP, World Superbikes etc) because he couldn't be arsed with all the pomp, rules and regulations. Down to earth bloke, a legend
Joey Dunlop is the real legend 👆🏻
And will always be.
Joey will forever be remembered as THE MASTER OF THE ISLE OF MAN!!!!!
💯❣
“And it’s wet” Yes, we don’t pack up and go home when The weather becomes inclement. I like a quote of Guy Martin, when asked his thoughts on those who think the IOM TT should be stopped. It’s not word for word but it goes “If they don’t like it, then don’t watch it, just go, mow your lawns at the weekend and leave us who love it, to our own”.
Seriously have a look at guy Martins attempt at breaking the speed record for the world's fastest Wall of death.
The Isle Of Man is somewhere I recommend visiting, Seeing plaques to racers who died gives you a unique respect for what they do while driving on the island.
Bruce Anstey... another kiwi motorsport legend .
You mean the only one, don't you? Not that i care anyway.
Check out when Michael Dunlop won the 250cc race at the North West 200, just 48 hours after his dad, Robert Dunlop, was killed in a practice session for the same race.
Now that was a race I will never forget, I was sitting in tears when Micheal won as were a few thousand other people around the circuit, totally unreal.
@@georgebarnes8163 I can only imagine what it felt like and i can only imagine what it's like to watch this in person.
Here in Croatia, before Grobnik, there was Preluk and if it wasn't for fatal crashes then maybe the race would still go on.Road racing is completely different ball game than track racing.Just one mistake and it's over.Motorsport in it's purest form.
Watch Guy Martins series about speed. Such as his gravity racer or just watch the crash where he bins it at 85mph and his only worry is scratching his helmet
It's so intense just blink when your watching onboard cams and see how far you travel in the blink of an eye. Been to a few road races over the years and those guys live for it.
You guys were mesmerised. Only 2 pauses.
All motor racing is dangerous, from go karting to f1, NASCAR to moto gp. Doing it at any level needs balls...
But these guys are a level above the rest 💙💙
Isle of Man is a country of it's own, it sits between Ireland and England ✌
It's not just the speed with these men, when you look at the course and the lines they are riding, wow, this is racing. 👍
This is literally Pod Racing from Stars Wars... Its the real thing!
I’m a biker, I like to go quick... but these guys are nuts!!
We are so blessed to be able to do this and allow ourselves to make the decision to race in the IOM
that's multiple courses and races on the island and north and south Ireland
Hey I Iive along that last lap, Tandragee, Northern Ireland ( race is known as the TANDRAGEE 100. I literally drive to work along that road!! Great video 👍
I work in hamiltonsbawn drive part of the track every day too
I’m a massive motorsport fan, F1, Motor Grand Prix, WSBK and have the upmost respect for the riders/drivers.
But road racing is in a league of it’s own.
It’s ridiculous really, but man do I love it.
It’s insanely lethal, a lot of riders have lost their lives, but still they go on.
It’s beyond me and nothing but respect and admiration for them - with and no longer with us.
Watch Guy's Broken Body | Guy Martin Proper shows him watching his crash for the first time
Guy always says he is a truck mechanic, Racer and tv presenter in that order
The thing with videoing this with a helicopter is that most civilian helicopters have a top speed between 160mph to 180 mph. And these riders can outpace the chopper on the straights. Which is why you dont have a lot of aerial footage of the race.
You might want to look up a video of a race driver taking around a worked Subaru WRX around this course with on screen stats for speed, blood pressure etc
Southern 100 is run on a completely different set of roads to the TT/Grand Prix and the course is shorter. It is run in the South Eastern corner of the Island with start/finish in Castletown. The TT (May/June) & the Grand Prix(August), starts/finishes in Douglas, goes West across the Island towards Peel then hangs a right up to Ramsey then back down to Douglas across the mountain section.
The Ulster Gran Prix guys.. Rider against rider @200 +MPH.
My local circuit as only 7 miles from my home.
🙏❤️🙏
Guy Martin is a national treasure here in the UK!
Remember guys this isn't just a European gig as some great American riders come over too
A visit to the TT, the S100, NW200 or the Ulster Grand Prix should be on your bucket list.
You guys should react to older Irish road safety advertising, there are videos archived here on UA-cam, most people who aren’t from here are shocked lol
Do you mean the DOE road safety adverts?
Glad you enjoyed this. The original source has a number of similar videos, both with and without musical backing. High quality and hair raising stuff. Also I believe creator of the 'Greatest Show on Earth' which you've seen previously.
My vote would go for one without the music.
TT is Isle of Man, its own place. This is mainly Irish road racing in Ulster / Northern Ireland (the North West 200 and Ulster Grand Prix) with some Isle of Man races thrown in too.
Fun facts: Isle of Man TT is known as the most dangerous road race in the world, with 270 deaths on the course. The NW200, in Northern Ireland, is the fastest motorcycle race in the world, with a top speed of 208mph and an average of 120mph (including all the slow corners!)
Nope, the Ulster Grand Prix held in the UK is the fastest road race in the world with an average speed of 136.5 MPH.
Those 277 deaths aren't all from the IOMTT though - 110 of those deaths are from the Manx GP
Did you really just call national treasure Guy Martin .... thick 😲 . Oh dear .... The man is a mechanical , engineering master as well as having balls of steel . You need to check out some of his own videos he has made for TV .
I believe he called him thicc as the youths are saying today
Sure he didn't mean 'thicc'? It was paused on a pic of his arse at the time lol.
I presume he meant thicc because of the camera view 👍
Mr Martin laughs at balls of steel, as his are made of adamantium. & the scariest thing about him is that genius brain
Includes Guy Martin on an Uncle Bunt style chopper sliding the back wheel round corners🏍️😁
Good reaction guys.
The isle of man has the tt and also the southern 100. Tt is a time trial s100 is a mass start. The s100 is the walled circuit on the vids.
There's 2 walls to watch out for on the southern 100 the one on the left and the one on the right, both go pretty much all the way around the course.
The rest are Irish road races like the ulster gp and Cookstown.
You have pikes peak in America which is in a similar ball park in terms of commitment.
Don't forget the Manx GP
Its funny how people want to react to this video, but it just leaves you speachless...the most intens racing championship in the world,i watch this for years now but stil leaves me breathless each time...god bless you
Valentino Rossi the most daring 5x World Champion when asked if he would race the TT said no I am not mad or Irish
Isle of Man = Bikes go of at timed intervals. Irish road racing = Standing start with bikes all around you! You figure out the most dangerous one!
IOM TT is on the Isle of Man ( time trail) . Irish road racing, mass start or groups but it’s the same riders. Peter Hickman was dominating road racing before COVID. Should watch his chin cam lap of the TT👍
1:53 Shoutout to that sign for trying its best.
it's just missing a zero
Strange how no one mentions that Ladies also compete in the solo and sidecar races.
And do very well too, strength to them.
Guy Martin is great. He ain't thick. Uk
It's the second set of races on Isle of Man who aren't Irish or Scottish-they are Manx
Mr Martin has my total respect. He has so many titles so many records. I mean shit he driven the fastest tractor ever lol
Never won an IOMTT though did he...
I’m a driving instructor from Belfast,my pupils have their first lessons on this track, the worlds fastest road race,DUNDROD
What a race!!
I believe the NW 200 is the worlds fastest road race
@@charliecanavan2298 it's not. The ulster gp was the fastest until Peter hickman blew the lap record around the Isle of man tt . It now holds the record of world's fastest roadrace

@@charliecanavan2298 your 100% right. I was thinking of the previous year when the ugp won it back.
Check out anything with Guy Martin ...his numerous world record attempts at many different speed events
The Isle of mann is a small island off the coast of Ireland. The series will travel to different places in Ireland and the biggest race would be at the isle of mann each year in May.
There's a video worth watching where a Impreza WRX STI goes round the same course where he hits 175 mph in places. Definitely got bigger bollocks than me.
This road racee is actually in Northern Ireland and is called the Ulster Grand Prix. Its held between Lisburn and Dundrod. It has townlands called Cochranestown and Leithemstown. Has "Ireland's Corner" (named after a family who owned a house there) tne Deers Leap amongst otners. Loved going to watch this every year as a kid/teenager. Held the last Saturday of August. A race not a time trial. Takes your breath away. So many great riders pitting themselves against the track. Tom Herron, Joey Dunlop and so many more. Exciting stuff
This is the Southern 100, a shortened version of the TT. They go off the track at that tight turn and run across on that bumpy up and down semi-straight stretch of road. Much shorter course.
very little footage of the Southern 100, mostly the UGP.
The Southern 100 and IOMTT are held on entirely separate courses, there is no overlap. Southern 100 = Billown circuit, IOMTT = Snaefell Mountain course
That last sequence was the course for the Tandragee 100 ( Northern Ireland) of which I have driven myself many times having lived close by! This is held in April of every year and 2 weeks later there is the Nortnwest 200!! They are worth checking out even on your own time!!
Road racing is the most exciting racing there is. Anyone who competes get massive respect from fans and fellow racers. It seems to be one a few sports where there is respect and no bullshit.
Guy martins is from my town in England the guy is wild
2:00 if I am not wrong I believe this is when Guy Martin broke his back the 2nd time😅
It's a big difference between USA and Europe but I'm almost 50 and I still love bike riding. This standard is unbelievable and I would love to meet Guy Martin and John Mcguinnes
I love spectating at the races , you can sit in the hedge drinking beers with the lads and watching actual Superheroes !
2:06 you paused it perfectly, light under both tires! He is airborne in a turn!
Guy Martin is incredibly talented.Total legend in the UK.
TT is a time trail on the Isle of Man Cookstown, Northwest 200 etc. are road racing circuits in Ireland/Northern Ireland
Can you guys react to the truck/semi racing.. then trucks have a 1000hp or more and god knows what the torque must be like! Give a try if you can. Thanks
This video shows about 4 different road races, heads up though guys the Isle of Man TT is going to be live streamed from 2022/2023
great video guys i live on the southern 100 course and its just awesome you would not believe how fast it is on very small roads
Watch Guy Martin vs Michal Dunlop around the Isle of man TT circuit 17 minuets of madness.
guy martin is a legend, you should watch his travel show! he's wholesome af, guy martin in japan is great
Lol watch others watching this and watch there heads go side to side following the rider lol. Great vid.
Guy martin is a living legend
The rush of bodily chemicals internally that these guys put there insides to is on another level. They get there buzz on another level its insane. we would panic and have heart failure or spew up.
This, Isle of Man TT and Northwest 200 are all held on public roads that’s why you saw the slow on the tarmac ☺️
You shud have an adrenalin stress break and watch some of Guy Martins engineering documentary programmes, Building the Fastest Tractor on Earth is a Gud fun one! Or the One about building a WW2 tank! Or the Fastest Van on earth! He's done loads, all great engineering or vehicle stuff. He holds about 8 world records now......the fastest sled on snow was amazing! He crashed doing that one but still got the record......I think his snow sled was doing about 80mph barrell rolling sideways! I say sled, it was more like a space shuttle on 3 skate blades going down the side of gravel covered mountain! Or maybe it was the World's fastest go-cart? 🤣
Last lap was from Tandragee 100 in Northern Ireland.
You should watch the full clip of guy Martin’s fireball bike on this track at that
This is from a fair few years ago because richard Britton died at the ballybunion races in 2005 and martin finnegan died at the tandragee 100 in 2008.Part and parcel of road racing but they love it and i love watching it.
Yeah the road race boys are a breed apart for sure
Thanks guys! Have you watched the side car-races in Isle of man? That is crazy!
The difference is that in this race, riders really put their lives 😆
It feels like Mad Max 🤣
You mean a car racing series that only goes around in circles, turning left every time, fully backed up with every conceivable safety system....
Isn't a kids sport??
The first half of the video is all Irish road racing everyone leaves the grid at once, later is tt and Southern 100, watch the side car racing from the tt! #ballawareness
Your faces said everything!
What you are watching are the greatest motorcyclist s in the world even they sometimes get it wrong like when that bike exploded like a bomb imagine your following him BALLS OF STEEL LOVE your following of motorcycling keep up the good work
I love road racing, unlike track racing the tarmac isn’t specially prepared, it’s what we all drive on, cracks, lumps bump, drain grids, manhole covers and not forgetting house, garden and field walls.
I when down to Le Mann’s one year on my bike, and you get to drive on part of the track because it’s a road most of the year. To ride on The surface is absolutely joyful it’s like floating through the air, there are absolutely no bumps, creases or differentiation in surface quality at all.
So this is why all the road racers are absolute legends to the rest of us.
*Le Mans
Remember guys this is on normal public roads so not the same surfaces as a race track, so road camber, potholes and gravel on the surface at any point! Crazy eh?
Between 1907 and 2019 there have been 151 fatalities during official practices or races.
Southern 100 and the Isle of Man tt are both on the isle man southern 100 is a race and the tt is a time trial
In Southern 100 they use mass start? or its like Isle of Man TT single start?

The TT race is held on The Isle of Man. This race you're watching is held in Ireland.
There's also a speech from a first responder on how he approaches crashes. Very funny video. The title is "flying doctor".
so residence of the IOM are Scottish ~ that will be news 2 them
TT stands for Tourist Trophy, not time trial as I think you thought at the begining of your video.
The crash at 2.00 show the one minor sign issues some motorcycles may have. The fuel tank is about 6 inches above the hot engine.
i had to fast forward to the end, this shit gives me anxieties lol
It's a road race in Northern Ireland like the Isle of Man TT
No, the road races in NI are mass starts, the TT is a time trial where the riders set of one at a time.
@@georgebarnes8163 👍
These are effectively the qualifiers for the TT. These are actual head to heads and are where the TT riders prove themselves. Also Isle of Man is Manx. They are a breed onto themselves :)
the UGP is run after the TT and is the last race of the year in the series, it is also a faster circuit than the TT and certainly not a qualifier for the TT
TT on the Isle of man, ulster GP in ulster (Northern Ireland) North West 200 Northern Ireland, Southern 100 on the Isle of man, but a short track in the south of the island of man!
The TT is on the Isle of Man chaps, between the island of Ireland and mainland UK.
I was born in 1948 my brother had a motorbike so when I was 61 I got one and in thoes days all you wated to do was 100 miles an hour to be in the ton up club and you had to have a witness with you and so after 3 months I did it on a 250cc BSA, and the definition of a motorbike is [ Smoething Hot and Throbbing Between the Legs ]
As a kid, F1, Moto GP and BTCC fascinated me. I thought those were the pinnacle, but the first time I watched the IoM TT I pretty much forgot about everything else. The TT is the premier motorsport on the planet, hands down.
Northern Irish as its The Ulster Gran Prix..
🙏❤️
The TT and the Southern 100 both take place on the IOM. All Irish motorcycle road racing takes place on public road courses. The TT is the only on that doesn't start as a pack race. Oh they run aviation fuel... So that's why big flames happen. Their are a couple of videos on you tube about an Irish road racer/DR who did some course marshalling. He was talking at some medical conference. He showed a pic of a racer, back at his first race to participate after losing one leg below the knee. He's sitting in his leathers with is race leg on, on a plastic container of aviation fuel smoking a self rolled cigarettes... To quote a movie about racing, "It takes a certain lack of imagination to really go fast", ie: I'm immortal and nothing can happen to me, only the others.....
when every take over was like a possible attempted murder scenario
