- Unboxing the Motorola Edge 30 Neo, one of the best mid-range smartphones if you want a compact option with strong gaming chops and features like wireless battery charging. Although the Pixel 6a is still the greatest for camera action. The Moto Edge 30 Neo is the most budget-friendly of those new Motorola Edge phones and the most mini as well. But it still packs good specs, is a good gamer option and slips into even small pockets, as my hands-on review reveals.
For a UK price of £350 you can have a slick media machine with pOLED screen and Dolby Atmos stereo speakers (although headphones are still of course best). The Motorola Edge 30 Neo can handle Genshin Impact and other intense Android games thanks to its Snapdragon 695 chipset. You'll not be able to play on high detail settings, but gamers should still be happy for this mid-range cost.
That camera sadly is a bit more basic than the Pixel 6a, but the Moto Edge 30 Neo can handle conditions that aren't too taxing. Video recording does top off at 1080p however.
Battery life is respectable, at least so far in my early tests. And you have fast wired charging, plus wireless charge support if you're gonna ditch the cables.

I have been using this device for a few weeks now. After my Asus ZenFone 8 flip got crushed in an accident, i decided to go for a smaller (and more budget friendly) device. Sure, on paper the Asus with his Snapdragon 888 beats the shit out of the Neo. But to be honest. The Neo surprised me a lot. The Snapdragon 695 apparently is enough for a real smooth smartphone experience. I hardly notice any difference speed wise with the Asus. Besides the wonderful flip camera on the ZenFone, my experience overall with the Neo is a huge step up. Much easier to handle due to his small size and only 155 grams. Battery endurance is also very impressive. Considering the fact i only sleep 4 hours a night. The remaining 20 hours of the day aren't enough for me to drain the battery completely. At this price range, the device is awesome! 120 hertz Poled display, very fast charging, stereo speakers supporting Dolby Atmos, quite clear Android experience with no Chinese spyware as a bonus!! I've been using Huawei, LG, HTC, Xiaomi, Sony, Samsung and Asus smartphones before this one. I think this one so far surprises me the most. Followed by Asus and the list ending with that terrible piece of crap, the Sony Experia 5 ii.

Everyday when I go to sleep, the battery still has some juice left. The battery life is around 29 to 30 hours after just one charge. That's really good considering i use my phone a lot everyday.
I can't agree with you more. Coming from a few os experiences apple sony Samsung I actually really like what moto is doing I recently bought edge 40 as a daily this phone is surprisingly as good as major flagships.
@Mr.1470 See you guys who are into the more expensive phones like th zens , Samsungs and iPhones because of the high end chip sets. The mid range chipseys coupled with 8gb ram is a speedy phone in itself. I still use the old Snapdragon 730g and I tell you it's still capable of being a nice fluid experience. I have the old Moto G9 plus. You Guys being conned. I'm looking to actually purchase this neo 30 it's currently £199 punds

What is your view of the phone, your general impression and wether the cameras are worth it?
@@kobmasa99 im really pleased with it. Love the design and look of it. The ui is smooth and stock without any unnecessary apps. The camera has been great so far. The charging is insane and the battery lasts 1,5 days. I come from miui so im really impressed with my ux. Worth every penny. I will also get a Lenovo alarm clock for free in the coming weeks. 👍

My all time favourate feature in any tech, ever, is the double Karate chop to turn on the "torch" on Motorola devices. I hope whoever came up with it was given a big fat bounus.

So many beautiful Edges to pick for my upgrade and I am completely overwhelmed tbh, Motorola has wayyy too many Edge models but I am not complaining. I am just like got damn there's so many awesome models to pick from, I'm narrowing it down to this or the 2022 Edge 5G 256GB for $500 by Verizon.

If you have more budget and want overall better phone, you can consider phone like Galaxy S22, Zenfone 9 or Xperia 5iv

Overall device feels speedy, good in hand and light.
I have been using it for two month now and i can say i was really impressed the day it felt on the floor from almost 2 meters height and didnt have a scratch.
I love Motos (esp the gesture control for torch) but there are three weaknesses for me: 1) OTG functionality is poor. You plug most Samsungs into anything and it just works 2) Moto casting is great on Chromecast and awful on anything else, again a Samsy connects into anything - hell I had an LG that would override any TV in a Weatherspoons 3) No DeX equiv. I love having a folding keyboard and mouse, and so essentially having a full office in my pocket with a Samsy.
Does this model overcome these flaws?

This phone reminds me of the Xperia 10 IV, minus the SD card slot and headphone jack. But on the other hand, you get 120hz screen, stereo speaker, fast charging and charger bundled.
Not to mention 2gb more RAM

@@braillynn4903 Not everyone wants the same set of features mate. I could see why people would choose the moto over the pixel. For someone who wants a better camera, pixel is the way to go. No doubt. But the better processor being in pixel is debatable. Even though it's the same as in Pixel 6 pro, the perfomance haven't been that great in the 6A.

Basically just says the same thing about every phone if you watch his videos, and worries more about pointless things like wireless charging instead of talking about things like the signal bands included and data speeds.

I really wish Motorola would spend a bit less on releasing so many phones and a bit more on their software team. Hopefully the two OS updates they promise are good, but one of those will be Android 13 which is the current version. So it will really only get one true OS update. But the three years of security updates shows promise, as long as they're not months late like they used to always be.
I wanted to get ultra/fusion,software update was the reason I went with samsung.
The post sale support for samsung in India is probably the best amongst smartphone companies,which sort of tips the scales for most
@@rudrap9556 I went the Pixel route in late 2020 with a 4a 5G, and my carrier just upgraded me to a 6a for pretty much free.

Thank you for the video!! In Hungary only 2 colors available: black is boring (for a woman...), and purple is "that purple" which looks like you support a certain football team. I didnt want any of those colors, so I just red and watched everything about this phone if it's worth the money. Updates wouldnt really matter to me, I'm using a 5 yo moto device which is still good (but as a phone it shows some problems nowadays), performance is ok to me for average use, but then I see samples how the camera makes the fotos and videos...ayy... Of course I want to look younger, but this much? A bit unnatural.
What about eye comfort according to the pwm of about 730 Hz? Some experiences there?
Does phone come with a USB-c to 3.5mm adapter?, what is required to used wired headphones?

Finally a well balanced mid range compact phone. Hope other brands try their hand at this segment as well for once! Was disappointing to see Apple quit the mini series, but I wish android would still try!
But 400euro for a Snapdragon 695? For 460 euro I Will take pixel 6a. But yes,I Will see other small size phone in the Future.

695 is a soc for 250€ phones in my opinion shame because like I said this phone is quite balanced

I bought one, colour is nice. If your basic with your phone needs, I use it to stream to Chromecast, podcasts, Instagram, emails, weather, etc. It's a great phone. Nice size, very light, battery is great and very quick charge. Very fast and at the price point is a really good option.

Moto Edge 30 Neo Vs Moto G82. Honestly, very similar phones, so Motorola's lineup is a tad bit confusing.
