  • We had our main battery die and wouldn't charge with the aux battery hooked up. Aux battery went bad and we deleted it rather than replace it.

    All you have to do is remove the ground cable for the AUX battery from the ground group at the main battery and IBS.
    Then remove fuse F42, which takes the ESS offline.
    Wrap the removed ground cable with electrical tape and tie it out of the way with zip ties.
    I will say that I like diesel AUX battery location way better than the gas engine one.

    Unfortunately, I could not see what you were doing because the camera angle was too high. Did you connect the Aux positive cable to the Main positive cable? If so, is that why you had to drill out the hole and turn it approximately 90 degrees? Did you connect the Aux negative cable to the Main battery negative?

    Did you connect the ground cable of the secondary battery to the negative pole of the main battery through the battery temperature sensor, or did you connect it directly to the negative pole? Please clarify, thank you. A follower from Iraq

    When you modified the hood vents on your diesel, what kind of if any issues are you having with water, rain, mud, etc, coming into the engine bay and down on top of the engine ???? The 392 has the hydro..

    • @overlanding21
      @overlanding21  Рік тому +1

      We haven't had any issues with over 30k miles since doing the mod. Drove through a lot of mud, water crossings, couple of hurricanes and snow/ice storms and she runs just like it was when we purchased it.
      Yes water gets into the engine bay when it rains and the vehicle is standing still, but if you drive during a rain storm it gets more water into the engine compartment with no damage. Now I personally haven't seen a 392 in person and what is located under the plastic covers, but if it's not a open engine block vent, air intake or oil fill point you won't have any issues as the engine bay is designed to be wet.

      @cwwcww7465 so I made another video doing a tuff test, it shows air flow on the hood and around the vents when it was opened, at highway speeds the air gets sucked into the engine bay through the vents. But when I offroad I do see heat escaping from the now open vents. But even with 37 and a loaded wrangler I never went above 226. Hope I stay that lucky.

    You should add something to the description to say that you need a TAZR to do this mod.

    • @overlanding21
      @overlanding21  Рік тому +3

      You don't need a tazer to do this. After I completed this video a friend ran his 18 3.6 with auto start stop on and it started and stopped completely fine. It's been a month since he did it with no issues yet. Or you can just press the button yourself and turn it off as well.

      @LazyToad yes, im still learning about mine 2 years and 48k miles later. The tazer mini is a must have in my opinion. Change tire size, led lights, back up sensors, read and clear codes, best one is when I put my turn signal on it activates my back up camera so I can see around the Jeep better, should be standard but it's not.
      Any plans to modify your rig?
