I have the 2.5 kit on order for my F56 Mini Cooper S. I got the kit with the braided stainless lines and I’m planning on mounting the reservoir, and pump in the engine bay so it’s all short runs.
I used this video for some reference while installing a similiar snow performance WMI system on my '13 ST. While still an overall great video I want to point out that neither of the boost references shown in this video are accurate. The one edited in this video does not match up to my accessport at all. I bought a different sound symposer delete that had the option for a boost reference and that has fixed my issue. Just an FYI for anyone else doing it on a ST. Overall still a great video, bought a guage pod from the same supplier he did and my system is working great!
The location referenced by the arrow at 29:13 is an accurate boost reference location. I still have it hooked up this way and it works fine. Your access port gets it's boost reference info from the MAP sensor on the front of the intake. That is probably more accurate since it's directly at the intake, but the place I referenced is just at another location.
@@SavageProductionsCars That's where I originally T'd off as well. While it read boost, my WMI controller would report boost and thus start injecting when my AP still read vacuum. The WMI controller would be peaking out at my tunes max boost while nowhere near WOT. Just didn't seem right to me.
@@Taylorek2011 you make a good point there. I see 20-21 pounds if I'm low RPM and just give it half throttle rapidly (which then reduces to 13-14 at higher RPMs). I figure that's just due to the small turbo immediately spooling. But it would be better to measure at the MAP sensor like the AP does. There's a whole system pressure mismatch not being taken into consideration when you're measuring at the sensor which (I believe) regulates boost for the turbo vs. where the boost actually ends up in the system.
Need assistance. How did you connect the VC-50 to a boost source. The line off the gauge is pretty dang small. What fittings did you use? My kit came with a T-fitting. But it’s more for a regular boost line. Would heating the lime off the gauge work? P.S. I watched this video 6 times so far. Love it.
Hi Boosted 3.7. What did you use to connect the two vacuum lines together? I’m wondering the same thing and mine came with the little T that won’t even nicely go into the VC-50 vacuum line.
I showed the plumbing. Snow Performance has a chart for which nozzle they recommend for your setup. Dual nozzles are a case by case basis, and talking to Snow Performance themselves would be the best bet.
I leave the injection off daily and only turn it on when racing. I've had to top it off once since I installed it and that's only because I was doing a lot of testing with it right after installing. I'd say it would last maybe 50 full runs, if I had to guess.
There's different mounting points for different applications. Further from the throttle body (right after the intercooler) is better for optimization with the fuel, giving you a better blended octane. Closer to the throttle body is better for cooling. I wanted more octane out of it than cooling, so I opted for mounting it far away. I actually ended up having to get a charge pipe to replace my factory one, and it had a welded-in bung which put the nozzle about 8 inches from the throttle body.
How were you able to lengten the vaccuum line from the VC50? can you just pull this out of the controller or do i have to find a nipple socket to lengten the vaccuum line to make it longer?

@@SavageProductionsCars ok , I have a full bolt on G37s coupe , l live in the Caribbean islands we dnt have high octane fuel . I was just wondering if I decide to get my car tune , will it be beneficial to have
@@torvarrisevans3961 not really. You'd have to spray a large amount in order for it to really affect your octane levels. You would maybe see a 25hp difference if it was tuned correctly for it.
The kit is great. Had a small failure of the check valve, but other than that, all the electronics are great. My dad's, which he installed (I think) 2 years prior to this one is working great as well.
Also meant to ask. How are your pistons and piston rings holding up. I've been hearing a lot of failures because of the methanol breaking down the oil? But obviously if it's been a couple years you guys aren't having that issue. Any advice or feedback on that issue would be much appreciated.
@@justinhinsey4093 that sounds like something that could happen if the mixture is too rich. The same could happen with any fuel, and can often happen when you have a leaky injector.
I hope people are not just slapping these on and expecting hp gainz 😬 you will lose hp and that's a fact.... you have to tune your setup with water methanol injection after installing...
Actually, if you're just using it for cooling or even if you have a car that auto-corrects for octane, you'll still make more power without a custom tune. Not to say you can't get an optimized tune for it that'll make even more, but lower IATs and higher octane (usually up to around 93-95 octane on newer self-correcting vehicles) will always make more power. (Clarification: more octane will make more power up to the stock allotted timing increase)
The trick is to not spray too much and just flood yourself out. This is why Snow Performance offers a chart for the correct nozzle size for your engine size and boost range.
The car doesn't have a tune on it. I don't think it does much for this setup untuned. I've been wanting to get some real before and after data with a few friends whose cars are always dead even with mine. I think if anything, it helps it up top in 3rd gear onward because the IATs remain low throughout the pull.
@@minimanadam been working great. Recently had a little failure with the check valve so it dumped all the meth in the tank into my charge pipe, so that was fun. Other than that, all the electronics and everything else has been working great.
Unboxing? description on the 1 gallon meth tank ? you can drill it to install a float ? just came here after watching product videos on AEM injection and not only do you not have to add a float but they use sensors which is a float upgrade and this fucking kit doesnt even have a HEY your out of meth in your tank warning system your gonna blow your motor cause its tuned to run with meth ?? not buying this shit .. how much extra you gonna charge for a basic necessity of adding a float ?
This was an install video, not an unboxing video. If you want to see what comes in the kit, you can look at their website. The kit does come with the float seen in the video. The reason the float isn't pre-installed into the tank is because this kit gives you the option of using a different reservoir for the water-meth. My dad installed the same kit on the Mustang featured at the beginning of the video, and he used his windshield washer fluid reservoir. The whole purpose of the float is that it connects to the gauge, which does warn you when you're running low.
The stage 2.5 kit comes with this guage, which is also the controller for the water/meth injection, which works off of boost. It's not really a boost controller.

I was thinking you need a fuse for the power line going into controller... not a fuse for pump cause if pump fails why would the controller fry? Wiring diagram doesn't show an inline fuse anywhere
Just ordered my kit...
I need help brother i bought a 2.5 kit no instructions. Where do I hook up with vacuum on the unit not car
The thin black tube coming from the back of the gauge/controller is the boost reference for the system.
My kit only had the gauge in it
@@grandpa_stinger yes, it's attached to the back of the gauge. It looks like a thick wire, but it's a vacuum line.
Thxs anyways brother mine only has one black anything coming out the back and its the ground wire. Wish i could send you a picture

I got a snow sno-210 on the way for my daily 2013 Gti.
Where is your shop and do you do cages?
We're located in Hebron, KY about 20 minutes south-west of Cincinnati. And no, we don't do cages, but we recommend Tin Soldier Racecars for chassis work.
@@SavageProductionsCars I am in the Columbus Ohio area.so not too far away. Thanks for the recommendation. I will likely need a cage in the next year or so. Not for my gti.
@@pospc2 Gotcha. Let us know if we can help you with anything. We are a parts supplier as well. And no problem, we highly recommend TSR.
are you having a leak nozzle on this product? my aem is having leak nozzle and need to replace everytime have this problem
No leaking at all
thank you for reply. ill replacing my kit to this product. i own type r what stage is the best for 400hp
@@realtalk9648 it would be best to talk to the guys at Snow Performance. They know a lot more about it than I do. Feel free to use the vode "savage" at checkout for free shipping on any order.
Where did you buy the air vent gauge pod? Ive only found one online but its like 150$??
Ortiz Custom Pods. Mine was $139.
How long does it takes to empty the water methanol tank
Depends on how long you have it on, but I'd say about 25 pulls
Planning on any dyno runs with and without the snow kit on ??
Definitely no dyno runs for this ole girl. I might do a 1/4 mile comparison at the drag strip, but that'd be it.
Man...running the pump underneath like that can't be good, eh? Is it waterproof? What about rocks and other projectiles?
The pumps are waterproof. We installed it in an even more open location on the Focus. Small gravel or even a decent sized rock shouldn't damage the pump. It's a quality piece.
I always thought the gauge was like a super high end gauge option for the water meth kit, but nope the vc50 is just a gauge type controller it’s cool tho, I needed uo ordering that thinking it was better then my stage 3 controller big mistake, lol but I like to have it in my gauge pod but the stage 3 is way more options
Hi what size Snow Nozzle did you use? The number 3 or number 5 ? Thanks
I chose the white nozzle, I believe. If I remember correctly, they send you the nozzle you chose, as well as one size smaller and one size bigger.
@@SavageProductionsCars ok thanks i have the Snow #3 nozzle in my Focus St in throttle body spacer, also where did you get the Vent Pod holder for the gauge? Thanks again
@@micp8700 check 4:30 in the video. I got it from OrtizCustomPods. I ordered through Facebook, I think.
@@SavageProductionsCars Hi Thanks ok will check it out 😀👍
What boost line did you tap in to for your gage please let me no thanks.

What do you guys charge for this install on the 13 st ?? For this system of course lol

I'm not completely sure but I don't think Loctite works with plastic parts
Good point. I believe it eats up the plastic a bit, but I also think it gets worse the stronger the formula is. This was blue Loctite, and luckily I haven't had any leaking issues with it, and it's been installed for about two years now.
Hey bro , what you recommend this kite for a G37s
You'll only see substantial benefits of methanol injection on boosted applications.
@@SavageProductionsCars thank u
Mine kit is not working. Did you install the solenoid?
There is no solenoid with this stage kit.
@@SavageProductionsCars 😳 the shop i took it to installed one . They also installed the pump in the engine bay and the tank in the trunk
@@DavidDiaz-vi1xx it's might be a different stage kit then.
How is this holding up?
The kit is great. Had a small failure of the check valve, but other than that, all the electronics are great. My dad's, which he installed (I think) 2 years prior to this one is working great as well.
@@SavageProductionsCars Awesome thank you.
Also meant to ask. How are your pistons and piston rings holding up. I've been hearing a lot of failures because of the methanol breaking down the oil? But obviously if it's been a couple years you guys aren't having that issue. Any advice or feedback on that issue would be much appreciated.
@@justinhinsey4093 I haven't had any issues with that
@@justinhinsey4093 that sounds like something that could happen if the mixture is too rich.
I'm disappointed the gauge only reads boost not vacuum...figures , snow skimping as usual
Update ? How much of a difference did this make after tuning?
The car doesn't have a tune on it. I don't think it does much for this setup untuned. I've been wanting to get some real before and after data with a few friends whose cars are always dead even with mine. I think if anything, it helps it up top in 3rd gear onward because the IATs remain low throughout the pull.
Loctite reacts to the metal causing it to cure.. its worthless on plastic.
How mane
I thiiiiiiink you did that gasket wrong
If you're talking about the plastic bung, then yes. I drilled too big of a hole.
I just STOMPED a focus rs in my modded mini
Good for you. This is an ST, which is even slower.

How are you liking this kit ??? I just order the same one for my mini
Hello i just ordered this kit from panda performance but my question is does it come with the check valve or is that ordered separately?
It should come with the check valve. Check the part number on nitrous express's website.
So does the kit come with this gauge? I know it comes with some type of boost controller
The stage 2.5 kit comes with this guage, which is also the controller for the water/meth injection, which works off of boost. It's not really a boost controller.
Hello, what does each color on the gauge mean?
You can change all the colors. There's no specific meaning to colors.
@@SavageProductionsCars also did you implement the solenoid into your setup at any point?
